  Amazing time with friends!

  Rooms clean and comfortable. Restaurants offered lots of variety. My favourite was the dinner and show...phenomenal acrobatics. Pool was lovely and clean. The beach was beautiful, white sand, clear water. Lots to see with snorkels!

  No es mi Trabajo....

  this is a tough review to write, the resort itself is great. Older property but well maintained, great setting with a beautiful beach. The dining options are good but limited. There are some great staff members here, where it all falls apart is in the pervasive smoker friendly environment at the resort, there is nowhere on the property you can go that people are not smoking or vaping. Not at the pool, not in the buildings where your room will be, not on the beach or any of the outdoor restaurants. We even had people openly vaping in the lobby during our stay. Despite multiple requests to the staff nothing was done. A special shout-out here to Alex, one of the Exclusive sales sharks by the small pool. After approaching Alex about an especially energetic group of pool smokers he assured us he would address any issues he saw...flash forward 10 minutes, went back to Alex who then informed us it was not his job to do anything about this...Employee of the month!! "no es mi trabajo" should be a new company slogan.

  Smokers / Vapers Galore

  First the pros and there are many! The resort itself is beautiful. The walking path from the lobby to all the rooms all the way to the beach is gorgeous. Lots of wildlife and plants - it was so nice to walk the path multiple times a day. The beach is one of the prettiest beaches we have seen - no seaweed, nice calm waves - I was able to paddleboard with ease. The acrobatic dinner show was very good - we only saw the show so I do not know about the dinner. There’s only one pool and one wading pool, but this was not an issue as the pool is large to handle all the people who were there when we were there. The lunch buffet was great - lots of fresh foods as well as the fried and cook while you wait options. Steakhouse was great - all four of us had fabulous meals - we all had the steaks and they were perfectly prepared! Mamma Mia’s was also a hit with our group. Quetzelbel was by far our favorite staff member - what an absolute fabulous lady! Additional specific shout outs go to Priscilla at Steakville, Leydi and Jeimya with pool and beach service. Sadly there was one big con - before we arrived at the resort, we emailed management to voice our concern about reading reviews about smoking happening at the resort. We were told that Catalonia does not tolerate smoking. Well? That’s a flat out lie. Smoking and vaping was rampant throughout the resort. We attempted to avoid being around it BUT there was not a safe location anywhere - not on the walking path, not near the lobby or even in the lobby, not near or IN the pool, not at the entrance to or on the beach, not on our balcony, not at any of the outside restaurants. And the employees, including security, did not address the multiple requests we made to stop that ridiculous madness. So disappointing. :( Two small cons, no margaritas or guacamole at the Mexican Buffet night and the calendar of events at the customer service desk did not match the calendar of events in the Catalonia App - and no where did I find information about Yoga and Pilates classes, but I heard from other guests there were classes.

  Another Great Trip

  Multiple trips to this resort and just as previous trips it did not disappoint. From the grounds to the staff everything met expectations and then some. Special shout out to Abraham and Diego on the entertainment staff, Esther at Rauxa and Jonathan and Ricardo at the pool bar, who went above and beyond! Can't wait until next trip!

  Love the staff food and fun! Esther! Diego! Abraham, Tita,Eddie,Paulina! Raids is amazing. So much fun! Love the resort, rooms, and privilege package! My fav! Always returning
