Nov 27, 2025The Best Resort We Have Been To Yet
Our first time at this resort and overall we were very pleased with our experiences there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Hector in the El Palmera Bar who was super friendly and was working very hard each time we were there. We were impressed at the cleanliness overall and really liked their approach to being a "green" resort. The food was good, the beach well kept and laid out well and the beach vendors were not pushy. The room we had, a Deluxe Romance Jr Suite was very nice although a bit dated. There were renovations going on it other buildings so I assume they will eventually get to the building we were in. There were a few minor issues but nothing that would keep us from going back.

Nov 26, 2025Has potential to be great but the rooms are tired and the food is poor.
The good - staff were friendly, grounds were well maintained and on the whole we found the resort quiet (not sure how full the hotel was). We had a Privilege room that gave us access to a different spot on the beach which we were grateful for as the other part of the beach seemed completely in the shade and both pools were packed! You could walk along the long beach which was nice. Walked over to the other hotel a few times to use the bigger gym and the shops were plentiful. We were grateful for late check out (privilege benefit) but there looked to be good complimentary showered in the other resort. Breakfast buffet was good although cooked options were cold? (apart from the chef’s omelette) What would stop us returning - having a short beach means unless you pick a spot at the front then you will be in the shade after lunch and it actually got quite cold in the afternoons (even at 28 degrees with a breeze). The rooms were tired and felt old. We had a suite which was large but very dated. Some of the Romance rooms looked better. A shame as the grounds were all really up to date. The main issue was the food. It was menu rather than buffet which actually meant we ate more (our own fault) but there wasn’t really too many fresh options (salad etc) as a main and sizes varied so hard to know what to order. The themed restaurants were the worst - The Peruvian was so salty, the Asian was dry and bland and the Italian carbonara was just odd! We did get into what was good to order and what wasn’t in BLoved Restaurant although unfortunately ordered Octopus on the last day and severely regretted it with some pretty bad food poisoning over the next 24-48 hrs on our travel home. We really enjoyed The Dominican Republic and will return - just not to this hotel.

Great resort!
Excellent food and service! Gracias Jaycees, Besenici, Willy, Christian, Enrique u Dario! Gardens are lovely. Beach is just okay. Nathaniel was super fun and attentive. Our room was fully functional and very large and nice.

Returned for a second time and planning a third visit
Second time at this resort. Will be back. All staff give top shelf service especially ANNA at the front desk. Certainly y enjoy my morning cappuccino served with a smile by MARIE and CECILIA. Great beach and very clean facilities.

No Satalite so no TV. Also, no one seems to care. Called the front desk 4 time, transfered to no one or hung up on. Ceiling is leaking. Sure they "fixed" it. Still leaking though the maintenance person was here earlier. Food is sub par and the staff is less than friendly. If you're wavering between this place and another, choose the other.
