    Amazing, great food reception and bartenders

    Ana and Fanelis at the reception desk were very helpful and made me feel welcome. They also helped my girlfriend, every time we came to the front desk with questions. She was nice and had a smile on her face every time we walked by. Ana was willing to help and accommodate us with anything. My girlfriend felt confident because of her. these wonderful ladies made our stay unforgettable and would gladly come back because of them.

    Disappointed

    We arrived with friends on 22nd may for 2 weeks. The experience at hotel check in should have given us an idea of what to expect. 45 mins to check 4 people into 2 rooms! We didn't know at this point but they had mixed our details up which affected the rest of the holiday. This was not our first visit to Dominican Republic or the Carribean so we know what can be expected/delivered. We understand a lot of the guests are Spanish speaking but there are also a lot guests who are English speaking, 98% of the staff couldnt/wouldn't speak English. We have not experienced this before in other hotels. Animation team- did no interaction with guests unless they were trying to get people to partake. Even when they asked where you were from they then continued to speak in Spanish. We wanted to partake more in the activities ie aqua spin but it's a safety issue. We also received an email after partaking in aqua spin, it was all in Spanish and no option to translate, what was the point!!!! The noise level of the music around the pool was ridiculous. Service- whether restaurants or bar was very sporadic, even when going to bar yourself. Not what we have experienced previously. Our main gripe with the restaurants was why they had to remove empty plates when people on the table were still eating. This happened in all restaurants and multiple occasions. At the Rodeo restaurant we were still eating our starters when the main meals were brought out. They seemed shocked when we told them to take our main meals away until we had all finished our starters. Conceirge- very pleasant. They couldn't sort out our mixed up room issue from check in. They did sort the Toiletries and Animation noise, don't get excited, it was only for one day. Restaurant bookings did become a joke as the process changed multiple times during our stay and even staff hadn't been told. Renovations- one of the villas next to the infinity pool started a full refurbishment just after our arrival the noise and dust made it unbearable. The swim up bar closed for a full refurbishment, once again the noise and dust was unbearable. As our room overlooked this pool we were affected again. The hotel should have advised TUI of these so that we could have been given the option to change our hotel. Infinity pool- all the paving around the area is not secure therefore when you walk on them they all move. Apparently they have been like this since they were laid over 6 years ago. How a major accident hasn't happened we don't know, or perhaps it has!!!!!! Lucy who hosted in both the breakfast restaurants was very smiley and attentive. Rest of the staff need to take her lead. Breakfast normally resulted in many staff talking and not attending guests, many times we were only offered a drink once, no refills. Rooms- we were in villa 46, other reviews refer to noise, maintenance issues all of which we fully agree. We didn't have a working tv, no hot water for showering for the full 2 weeks. A fridge which if you put fresh milk in curdled after a couple of hours, not acceptable. Toiletries not replenished and had no shower gel for most of the holiday. We did like the fact the room key was integral to the all inclusive band. The size of the hotel was good. The selection of restaurants was good. As you can see for us there were a lot more negatives than positives. We did received a whats app message asking for our feedback on the hotel, this was received after our first week. In typical hotel service we did not receive an acknowledgement other than the fact we could see our comments had been read. Nobody had the courtesy to respond personally. With simple changes these negatives would be positives.

    14 nights almost perfect

    Just returned from 14 nights stay on this resort. I'll try to keep it short but tell about our experience. Why not perfect for us? Simple, the noise from the animation. We've stayed on room 4611, facing the pool and right next to the main building. Noise, very loud music, begin with the pool activities, then from 15h to 17h loud music again for no reason then from 20h to 23h singing and show. Very loud also. We wanted a peaceful resort and miss the target. Would help also if they have a norm against Bluetooth speakers. Some at the beach that made impossible to have silence and enjoy the sounds of nature. Also this is not a resort for beach lovers, although have white sand, it's a swallow water full of seaweed on the bottom with just a narrow line free of it. Besides that we have nothing to complain. From the buffet breakfast to the other a la carte meals all 5 star food. Try them all. We did but no the vegetarian one. My special thanks for the steward Lucy at the B Love and Thalassa restaurants. Special thanks also for Mr. Dario at B Love restaurant. This gentleman went above and beyond and made our stay very special. Thanks also for Leonel, Ashley and Carlos at the Margarita pool bar. Cleaning perfect, so thanks Yeine. Great service but some staff need to smile more and be more proactive. We've stayed in the cheapest room and the only thing bad as the air conditioning that made a lot of noise and couldn't get the temperature below 23°C. For us no need for upgrade room and Privilege service also. Easy check it and check out. Easy booking the dinner at the guest services. We did go to the family side so no comments on that. To finish we recommend the spa. We had a fantastic couple massage. Would we return? Only if the noise problem is addressed. Don't try to transform it into a party resort when have all the potential to be a true peaceful resort.

    One of the most horrible resorts in the world!

    This “resort” is so horrible that I don’t even know where to begin! Absolutely no one here speaks English. It is EXTREMELY difficult to communicate. For example, when asked to make a dash vegetarian or vegetariano (I translated in Spanish for them), they ask me dumb questions such as “is tomato sauce okay?” ‍️ Dinner reservations are absolutely necessary, otherwise you WILL be turned down. When making reservation, I was told that I can only have vegetarian food once a week because there’s only one vegetarian restaurant open only on Thursdays. There are barely any vegetarian options! The service is so bad that in all the restaurants, people go to the bars and grab their own drinks. The service staff absolutely do not want to do their job! The chefs have no clue what the difference between vegetarian and meat dishes. It is true that most of the servers are extremely rude. They don’t want you to order more than one dish. They don’t want to take your drinks order. They don’t want to check on you if you need anything. Most importantly, the quality of food is extremely horrible for all dishes - meat, seafood, and vegetarian. Even a third class restaurant would have better quality food than this horrible resort. Most of the food is extremely overcooked and disgustingly mushy! The servers refuse to modify any dishes and give you nasty looks if you have any requests for them whatsoever. Once again, they don’t speak English at all, so you have to use Google Translate to translate EVERYTHING! They force you to write positive Google reviews in front of them by brining a bar code link up to your face at your table and wait until they verify that the review is five stars and positive. There is no service whatsoever at the beach. You are on your own! Our room door made an extremely loud sounds and I woke up my husband every time I would enter or leave the room. There was no way to close the door without this obnoxiously loud sound and we have a premium junior suite, not a cheap room. The light switches were not working throughout the room and we had to take shower in the dark because they would not fix the lights despite asking them to do so repeatedly! Do NOT sit on the beds by the ponds because they clean those beds, not with fresh water, but with disgustingly murky and dirty water from the ponds! They entire staff at the resort is EXTREMELY lazy from chefs who don’t want to peel the boiled eggs to servers who don’t want to take your order to cleaning staff who don’t want to bring water to clean outdoor furniture. The entire resort is disgustingly filthy and a total mess! The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room smelled like an abandoned, dusty house (though I did not see any dust). There is no trash can in the bathroom. The only thing good about this resort was the receptionist lady who showed you your table during breakfast at Thalassa buffet. I also liked the trees and plants. The fresh fruits were the only edible things we liked. There are no fish in the reef in the ocean. So forget about snorkeling at their beach! We will never ever go back to this resort. Please save your time and money and go to one of the better resorts in Punta Cana! Forget about world class service standard, this resort has NO standard whatsoever! What a nightmare!

    Wonderful massage experience

    Karina, was wonderful! She is very attentive and has the perfect amount of pressure. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to have a positive massage experience. My husband and I did a couples massage and we had a very relaxing time. I’ll be back for a second round by myself.
