Our 4th visit to Riviera. We keep going back for so many reasons, the staff the rooms, the cleanliness, the gardens, the ocean view the pools and the relaxation

Nov 09, 2025If you like modern and minimal, but still want access to traditional via the connected resorts
Nice clean open and airy, modern and minimal resort. Staying at this resort gives you exclusive access to 4 restaurants and a buffet, with all of the additional restaurants and buffets in the neighboring 5 resorts. The buffet here closes at 6pm, so if you haven’t booked a restaurant, and choose to eat late then you will likely be travelling to one of the other resorts to go to their buffet (the others go until 10pm) There is a sandwich type setup in the bar in the lobby, but outside of that the buffet is where you have breakfast lunch and dinner. It would be nice if they had some kind of outside bbq setup so people could just grab a quick bite. Especially if you are out around the pool and you are wet. They don’t want you in the lobby bar/sandwich place wet, and you cannot leave with the food, so it is not convenient. The acoustics where they hold their shows is open air and the acoustics are pretty bad. The beach area is nice with palm trees providing shade for the beds, and its proximity to the pool is great. The cove in general is pretty rocky and some of the Barcelo resorts here have no beach, but the Riviera’s beach is quite nice. Water is warm and shallow. I think the room, bathroom and balcony are excellent. Didn’t use the gym, but went in there and it seemed nice. Pickleball, tennis and Paddle courts. Staff were very friendly and service was very good

Top Notch!!
This is the most amazing place!! This was our first time at the adults only as we usually stay at the Barcelo Palace - which is fabulous too! The Barcelo Maya Riveria and adjoining properties are so beautiful and well cared for - but what makes is so special is the friendly and attentive staff! The food was better than expected, providing delicious meals and beyond excellent service. It all made sense when we got to meet the staff (Hector in the resturants, Gabby in the buffet area, many smiling chefs and waiters like Christian who obviously take pride in providing excellent food and service! Not to mention the Pool bar staff and entertainment staff to make sure you're enjoying every minute of your stay by offering games, music or quiet time. The rooms are large and fresh with lovely bedding, large lit closet space and counter space. Mainly, the staff and service at this place will not disappoint and everyone we encountered was quick to help and really cared that we have the most amazing time. We will DEFINITELY be back and I highly recommend Barcelo for a fabulous vacation with food and restaurants that will please even the pickiest guests!

This is a beautiful resort. It’s worth it to upgrade to premium. You will have access to all the hotels & restaurants within the resort. You also receive 1 hour of hydrotherapy daily. This is our 4th visit, 3rd visit in the past 12 months. We will be back! Thank You Barceló Maya Riviera Adult Only

This place was beyond amazing!!!
Great service, friendly staff, clean environment and pretty atmosphere, wonderful food options, lots of property to walk, amazing beach, everything was great!!!
