We recently travelled to the Barcelo with a group of 40 people for our wedding. There are honestly no words to describe what a great week everyone had. From check in, to the rooms, to the service, everybody was so pleased at the experience they had, there were no complaints. Our wedding day was absolutley more than we could ever have imagined. Everything was perfect right down to every little detail. All of our guests mentioned it was the best wedding they ever attended. Rubi the wedding planner made sure everything was perfect and what we wanted for our big day. We were scheduled to stay another week after for our honeymoon but due to the COVIN 19 we were issued to return to Canada. We are hoping to be reimbursed our week stay we had to miss and will definitely return to the Barcelo once the pandemic is over. We rate our experience a 10/10 and highly recommend future couples to have their wedding at this beautiful resort.
very quaint hotel
We really enjoyed the size of the hotel at around 300 units. The food, staff, and amenities are excellent. The tuesday night of arrival we were entertained by " night of the tenors". It was one of the best shows we have seen in the 10 years we have been travelling to Mexice. These 3 men could rival the italian tenors.
The staff are absolutely wonderful. Always a smile and helpful. Outstanding service. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Comfortable bed, room layout and all balcony's have views. If you are looking for rowdy all night partys, this is not your place. The entertainmnet was great (free). Beach is easily accesible and safe. I like that it is a smaller place, very accesible. It is great for families, couples and seniors. The drinks were abundant and stiff. The food was great. All around, this is the best resort I have stayed at. I will return. **I appreciated the smoking areas, we had 4 smokers in our group and they were annoyed that they had to go to designated smoking areas only. I like that. I don't want to be smelling gross cigarettes on vacation.
Okay but loud.
The best thing is the staff. Got in the first night and had a problem with our room. Went to the desk and tried to resolve it. A very big no go. Asked to talk to a Manager and the desk staff said talk to Karyna Agaton. Talked to Miss Agaton for less than five minutes and she resolved our room problem in four minutes. If a resort has a manager like Miss Agaton I can only see how you would get repeat customers. Then again Nidia Sarrahi, how can you not have the best experience, coffee, gin and tonic or corona ... but getting to know Nidia. She made me feel welcome to Mexico. Then again Luis Alberto Cortes! Make us laugh, cry, and feel like we are okay being lazy! Thanks Luis. The hotel is very clean, the lady at the pool snack bar I'm sorry not to have gotten her name is the Jewel, good food happy! And give her bid ass tips! She works and works. The room service lady was so nice ,no English but teaching us Spanish every day. The buffet was pretty good with a great selection and the staff again worked so hard!! The A la Carte restaurants had much to be desired. No great shakes. The tower bar was a waste of space for such a commanding view. Too loud and crazy vid screens on the ceiling. ??? Never found the sushi bar. tried twice to go there and could not stand the noise so immediately turned and went back down the elevator. Great location and would suggest to have the space a quiet lounge area from 6 - 9 PM for the older population and let the disco fever fly after that. For those of you who want to swim, the only options are the pools. Ocean is crazy and beautiful waves but not good for swimming. Good wading not good for beach coming no stuff to find. 3 weeks of paradise. Best spot was under the palaces on the sand . Premier Lounge is worth the extra $ as it is quiet and has great service.. Thanks again to Karyna, Nidia and Luis. They made our trip!!!
All inclusive resort was beautiful, well maintained and the food was very good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that my travel agent booked us a king sized bed but upon arrival, we were told that reservations are “subject to availability” so I don’t understand the purpose of making a reservation ...my husband and I had to get double beds.... Also we had to call every single night there to ask for wash clothes as the maid kept forgetting to leave them in our room. Other than those two minor issues...it was great!
