My boyfriend and I stayed at Barceló Puerto Vallarta March 6 to the 12th and had a great time! Check in: we had a hiccup at check in, we booked our vacation through Cheap Caribbean and paid for premium wrist bands but when we arrived the resort had our reservation for the regular wrist bands. After 30 minutes of contacting Cheap Caribbean and talking to Barceló reservations they gave us our premium wrist bands. The room: our room was really nice and had a great view. The room was updated and clean. The maid service was great and they cleaned our room really well everyday. The beach: the beach was small but clean, not many people from the resort were on the beach and we had no problems finding chairs. I wish the beach was bigger to walk down. My boyfriend and I love beach walks so that was a downside for us. I did get a wonderful massage down the beach for $20! It was so good, I got a massage 3 times during my stay! The pool: I loved the pool bar and I never had to wait to get a drink because the staff was really attentive and the pool was never too crowded. There were a few more pools as well as a hot tub but I stayed at the pool with the bar most of the time! The restaurants: I tried to keep an open mind on this because a lot of the reviews about the food were bad. We really liked the snack bar. They had your typical pool/lunch food! The pizza and wraps were great! We ate there everyday for lunch. The breakfast was the best: they had fresh juice and amazing mimosas. They had an omelette bar and fresh fruit! It was amazing. We also ate at the buffet for dinner twice and it was okay. Nothing exceptional though. We ate at the A la cart restaurants as well. The Italian restaurant was okay. I liked my seafood pasta but my boyfriend didn’t like his dish. The best restaurant was Los Arcos! I had an amazing salmon and my boyfriend had steak! It was great! I also liked the sushi restaurant, the sushi was good! Also, we were super happy we got the premium wrist bands so that we got top shelf alcohol! I got to drink grey goose all week and it was amazing! Overall we really enjoyed our time at Barceló
Amazing Staff At Barcelo
We have been to this resort four times and will go back any chance we get. The staff are warm and welcoming and do everything they can to make your experience great, David R. Flores, Edgar Rodrigues Castillo, Geovani Castro, and Lucy Carrillo are a big reason we come back again and again. They are truly great at their jobs.
Had no idea what to expect upon arriving to the Barcelo Puerto Vallarta! This was my gf and I's first time to the Pacific side of Mexico and its absolutely stunning. This resort is nestled in its own cove surrounded by rolling green mountains. Every view on the property is more beautiful than the next. Pictures really dont do it justice!! Aside from the beautiful property the resort offers 4 pools to choose from. 1 is a sports pool shallow with volleyball net, the other has a slide but it's a kids pool..(dont let that stop you from trying it after 5 or 10 tequila shots). The other too are much larger, one is a lazy river of sorts the other is where you'll find the swim up bar, music, and fun! La cantina is a bar not far from the pool that offers unique music exceptional service and some very tasty food. The A la carts are ok. The best by far is the steak house at los arcos. The rooms were quite large, clean and comfortable. The beds are amazing aswell! The beach is not the nicest I've ever been too. The sand is quite coarse but didnt stop us from enjoying it. We highly recommend the massages at the beach by the locals for $20usd each for 1 hr. They were amazing. We went to the last hut for ours. Theres also restaurants on the beach owned by locals. We never tried them but heard good things. If your looking for excursions like whale watching, fishing, snorkeling ect talk to the folks on the beach. We went whale watching and snorkeling with 2 couples we met for $40usd each, we were amazed to see many whales and a very large sea turtle! The food at the resort is quite good, I was sceptical after reading the reviews the months prior to our trip as I consider myself a foodie, but the buffet had many options including fresh crepes, omelets in the morning ect. The restaurant at lis arcos during the day is amazing. We HIGGGHHHLY recommend getting the tacos from the taco bar. Lastly the staff..... The staff was very professional, friendly and attentive. The boys at the swim up bar make em strong and have an awesome sense of humor. Then theres Mr Geovani Castro at the buffet. This guy was our go to every day for breakfast and lunch. Amazing server who made you feel beyond welcome and most important never kept you waiting!! His teammate Jazmin Quintero was just as amazing. Thank you everyone at Barcelo Puerto Vallarta for an unforgettable week. Until we meet again. Adios Amigos
How do you title AMAZING
We have been making a yearly trip for at least 6 years and everyone has been perfect. We originally did not do Premium as we do not drink a lot of hard liquor. Premium is worth the price rooms are beautiful, nice to get dinner reserved and when you want a fine sip you can go and get any time you want - dont let me forget about the midnight room service all included. I wish I could remember everyones names the wonderful lady in Premium club who made sure we had an outstanding room 1320 - please save it for me for next year. The breakfast buffet is great the omelet ladies always so happy to prepare your fresh to order omelet. Our most favorite restaurant is Sushi because the workers in there go beyond the call of duty to make sure each guest feels special. Victor and Diane need to be applauded for all of their hard work. They always end our evening with Mexican/Romantic coffee - something we would look forward to all day. The ladies in the Cantina thanks for all the fun times and the rest of the Barcello crew that makes us want to come back 2x a year. Mario who is one of the managers at night is the most professional caring individuals we have interacted with thanks you from the bottom of our heart. AS we learned from a Canadian couple if people complain about the Barcelo they dont deserve to go on vacation. A few places we enjoy outside of Barcelo - If you walk 1/4 mile into Mismaloya there is a restaurant owned by a man named Abraham "Black Bull" give it a try for lunch your tummy will be happy. Visit the beach side restaurants we eat at Rockys because his wife is a fantastic cook. Massages 20$ on beach. Go to Chicos take the bus and watch Marco dive off rocks as you have a margarita tell him I sent you. We Uber to hotel and back from airport its like 10-12$ american.
I always feel as if the staff really cares about me and making sure I have a good time. I would especially like to mention David Rodriguez,Edgar Rodrigues Castillo’s, Geovani Castro, Gerardo Castillo’s, Jose Antonio De Jesus Witron, and Lucy Carrillo. These employees are a big reason that we keep coming back to the same place.
