  nice beach even though jelly fish under water in some areas. Staffs are friendly. Restaurants are good in service n food except Mediterranean meal has room to be improved.

  Boring food, smell of sewers, overflowing toilets. Guests pay staff enough to prevent you having the same servicee

  All sorts of issues, read to end. The room two nights smells of sewerage, The sewer pipes being replaced stink in a number of areas while they do that work. Had to leave late to another room becauseit was impossible. But then the toilet constantly blocked in the new room and flooded. We tried to book golf, but it seems Bourganville and Golf have a disagreement. The Bourganville or La Romana will NOT help with golf bookings. NOT reception, NOT guest services, they point to the real estate and nor do they do anything, their riff has nothing to do with the guest. The final straw was in the Los Coreles a la carte. We were happily having dinner, but another guest who thought he owned the place decided he doesn't like us, shouting remarks whenever we went and came to our table to shout at us. He then went to the staff, gave money, pointed at us and they stopped serving us. We said, when will we get the rest of our food, we had not had any beef yet. The waiter came with a skewer of beef, gave me a sliver as much as a bird feather and then dumped about 1lb of beef off the skewer onto my partner's plate and walked off. We were gob struck. We never had any further service and walked out. But another bullying guest can buy staff and tell them to disrespect other guests to their narcissist view of others. The main buffet was boring, samey, low quality and lack of signage or variety. Same every meal time with limited number of dishes. Utterly dull and not tasty. Beach club has one catamaran. The other is broken, a few old kayaks. All the other equipment is broken sat in the beach, punctured banana etc.

  "We enjoyed"

  Second visit here had a nice quiet room on the back block 57, room was fine no problems restocked fridge every day the whole place was kept beautifuly clean including the gardens, pools either end so had a choice, both had swim up bars, day activities at pool nearer beach lots of sunbeds seemed pretty quiet whilst we where there. Beach was nice too had walks down it every day sea was a bit murky we never went in. Buffet served some nice food as did the two special restaurants we visited Don Pablo and Italian, Buffet we had problems getting 2nd glass of wine and Tea in a morning even in with very very broken Spanish words, but we got there lol. We had a lovely holiday enjoyed it very much. Main issue in Buffet was food dishes only in Spanish no English and meat and vegetarian dishes next to each other so cross contamination with serving utensils being used for both which is ok unless your a vegetarian as one of us was !! Something the hotel could look at. We had loads of bites too first week , beware take plenty of insect repellant.

  Best place

  This hotel is great! They have changed some stuff but still a great place to visit!! Alexis, Nikki, Francis, Ana, la Gavi, from the entertaiment team are awesome!! The people from the Pool Bar, Julio, Yuleysi, Dalisa and Brayan are a 10000 out of 10!! These guys made my stayed amazing! Been here before, food was much better than is not bad now but it was better before. The one thing that left a bitter taste in my mouth was the charge for a 2pm check out. ($10 an hour when the hotel is only at 26% occ) I am a hotelier and this is not acceptable to me but it is what it is.

  “Disappointing: a hotel sold as 5 stars, but far from it”

  I stayed at the Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville, which is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but my experience was far from that level. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, perfect if what you’re looking for is simply a quiet place to rest. The staff were very kind, attentive, and hardworking, and it’s clear they do their best to serve the guests. Unfortunately, the management and overall offerings of the hotel fall short: Evening entertainment: Very poor. The same employees who run daytime activities at the pool are also assigned to the night shows, and the quality suffers as a result. The musical options are limited and unimpressive. Food: Nicely decorated and well presented, but lacking in flavor. The dining experience does not live up to a hotel of this category. Customer service at checkout: Our departure was unpleasant. Although checkout time was at noon, starting at 9:00 a.m. we were repeatedly pressured, in indirect ways, to leave the room, which felt like being pushed out. In conclusion: if you want a nice and quiet hotel to relax in, with friendly and hardworking staff doing their best, this place can serve that purpose. But if you are looking for quality food, enjoyable evening entertainment, and respectful treatment until the end of your stay, this is not the hotel for you. Based on my experience in multiple hotels, this property, at best, deserves 3 stars, and it does not justify the money spent.
