  Amazing Hotel and Staff

  The most amazing holiday. We upgraded to one of the swim up ocean front rooms in the Serenity club. Can honestly say the room was wonderful, pool fabulous and all the restaurants were great - the Teppanyaki station in Satsu was such an experience, the show in the Serenity club was great fun too. The staff were out of this world attentive, Levi as one of our drinks waiters to our room could not do enough even if we said we weren't drinking that day yet, he had a way about him that the next minute we had two mimosa's arriving!! our butler was lovely and helpful but we didn't really take much use of the butler service as we were just enjoying do everything. Beaches were full of seaweed in June, but the staff were out multiple times a day clearing this away - Pools were so good though it didn't matter to us. We were in room 5005 and our cleaner, Lorena was the most amazing friendly and caring person we could have ever met - she made us beautiful towel arrangements everyday and always had a smile and a warm word for us with nothing being too much trouble. Only downside to us was the tour operator in the lobby, we booked to go to the Island on a day trip - previously we have always booked boat trips via our Tui rep and we thought this would be similar - over $100 dollars each for the boat trip and entry to the island supposedly with food. The trip was pleasant if not very short, maybe 40-45 minutes including a very short stop for some "snorkelling" - as we got off my partner advised there were filled bread rolls on the side we could have taken - no announcement that this was the meal! We are then left for only 2-3 hours and picked with the return journey only taking 30 minutes ish. Not really much for the money. Would have been better to take the ferry get a full day for a lot less money about $20 each and buy a nice meal on the island and it would have been much cheaper and had as much time as we liked on the island. Wasn't an awful experience but very overpriced compared to our normal full day tui boat trips with food etc, we certainly expected a full day and a lunch/bbq etc. This being said, we loved the entire holiday/trip so much we are going back again in January for some winter sun when the weather will also allow for sea swimming not just the pools as there should be no seaweed. Can't wait to go back.

  Second time and it was even better

  This is the second time in a year I have stayed at Haven resort. The first time was so great we told our friends and booked it again and brought them with us. The resort is fantastic (more to follow) however my butler Carlos made our last trip so memorable for my wife and I that we had to ensure Carlos was still there and would again be our butler if we came back. I have had butler service before and never really used the service, but after the experience we had with Carlos we decided it’s well worth the service and upgrade if we knew we would get Carlos again. Carlos would come by and check in on us throughout the day to see if we needed anything. Carlos took care of my daily aromatherapy (would recommend) and our nightly wine service in the room. Carlos also took care of all the reservations and transportation for us. The first trip in October last year was special, but this year we felt we were treated even more special which was nice because we bragged to our friends about it so much and then they got to see it as well. We had an incredible swim out suite last year and this year we got the same except the end room with a huge wrap around pool and our friends next to us. I know Carlos worked his magic to get me that room and my friends right next to us which made the experience even better than last year. Juan Luis our pool bartender was amazing as well and took really good care of us and we were never waiting for a drink. The butler service and swim out pool or a really nice upgrade and to me worth the extra expense. However, the resort itself is amazing. I never had to go out at six in the morning to find a chair by the pool as there are many pools and lots of spaces available. There are many pools and they all have different experiences. We got to try them all, and I liked the different vibes at each one. Food was great at the restaurants was really good. We went to the Italian restaurant twice because we liked it so much. The steak house was very tasty as well. With our stay, we got free hydro spa treatments and it was amazing and led to me and my wife both getting a massage as well. I love the size of the resort and the way they treated all of us. I believe the treatment is what is going to keep us coming back to this particular resort. Also, I love the 15 minute drive from the airport. Carlos showed me a one bedroom suite which I may book for my next trip. As long as Carlos is working there and my butler, I will be booking another trip very soon. Already counting down the days. Thank you Haven and a huge thank you to Carlos to making us all feel special.

  --- ⚠️ Warning to Anyone Planning to Stay at This Hotel ⚠️ I had a very disappointing experience. I booked four rooms through Booking.com, and by mistake, in two of them, I entered one guest instead of two. Instead of showing basic understanding and simply correcting the booking, the hotel initially demanded that I pay an additional $1,500 (!) for the rooms. I spent hours and an entire day trying to explain and begging them to reduce the charge — eventually they lowered it to $900, which I still had no choice but to pay, just to be able to stay at the hotel. There was no empathy, no effort to help, and no sense of fairness — only pressure to pay an outrageous amount for a small human mistake worth about $30. 👎 Terrible customer service 💰 No flexibility or understanding 😡 A deeply disappointing experience, especially when you’re already at the hotel and being forced to pay. Mistakes can happen — we’re all human. But how a hotel responds to them says everything about its values. Sadly, this hotel showed no respect, no care, and no hospitality at all.

  Best Resort in Mexico

  This was our 5th time at Haven. After our first visit we just can't justify going anywhere else!! We have been to multiple other resorts but this one tops them all. The food is the best we have had in Mexico but it's the staff that really make it such a great experience. They treat you like family and I was so impressed when we walked in one of the bars and the bartender Adrian yelled my name excited to see me. And of course I always have to get a hug from Maria. She was our first bartender on our first trip and we always have to find her to say hi. The fact they remember you shows how much they care. 10/10 recommend.

  Perfect

  We stayed at Haven Riviera Cancun for 5 days/4 nights on a girls’ trip this past week. We’re all in our late 20s to early 30s and were looking for something relaxing but still with a bit of fun—and Haven was the perfect choice! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredible—so welcoming and genuinely kind. Emeli checked us in and did her best to get our group rooms together. While it wasn’t possible, we ended up across the hall from each other, which actually worked out perfectly since one pool got afternoon sun while the other offered shade later in the day. We had Junior Suite Garden View Swim-Up Rooms, which were beautiful and convenient. Ernesto, our pool waiter for most of our stay, was fantastic—constantly checking on us, bringing fun drinks to try, and even delivering them to our swim-ups! Emanuel took care of us on our last day and was just as great. The service overall was top-notch and truly elevated our experience. The resort itself is small, peaceful, and very well maintained. It can be a bit tricky to navigate at first, but the QR codes on signs and your bracelet are super helpful—they link to maps, the activities calendar, restaurant menus, and even dinner reservations (if you’re not a Serenity guest). The entertainment wasn’t spectacular, but the staff and performers really gave it their all, which made it enjoyable. The foam party and water aerobics were so much fun! There’s something happening by the main pool every few hours, and there’s also a quiet pool if you want to relax away from the music and activities. We didn’t spend much time at the beach—it was gorgeous and peaceful, just not great for swimming this time of year. We also didn’t do any excursions or spa treatments this trip. Of all the restaurants, our favorites were the Italian and the Mexican Steakhouse (the tableside guacamole was amazing!). We enjoyed our after-dinner drinks at Limes Bar and the Lobby Bar as well. Overall, if you’re looking for a resort that’s not a “party resort” but still offers a great time, Haven is it. Our group has already decided we’ll be back—and next time, for longer!
