My solo stay at Blue Diamond
Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel ended up being exactly what I didn’t know I needed. This is not a party resort — it’s a place to truly relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature, and it does that beautifully. The grounds are stunning. Lush, green, and peaceful, it genuinely feels secluded and quiet, which I really appreciated. I’m a nature and wellness girl, so being surrounded by jungle, walking the length of the resort, and starting each day with morning yoga with Emmanuel was absolute perfection. The spa was a standout, especially the saunas — the hammam, red light sauna, and overall spa experience felt intentional and calming. The spa staff were incredibly kind, gentle, and respectful. One thing I really appreciated was the lack of hard selling. I was contacted once about spa services, asked if I could speak later, and never received another call. When I visited the spa, I was asked once about packages and when I said I’d look later, they completely backed off. Ironically, I *did* want to review them but forgot — but I truly valued not being hounded. The food was some of the best I’ve had at a resort, which genuinely surprised me. And bonus points for carrying Coke products — Coke Zero is my jam. I called the front desk one day asking for a couple more since I only had one left, and they sent three, which made me laugh. When they restocked my room later, they added even more Coke Zeros — clearly remembered, and totally adorable. The staff were exceptional across the board, but I want to give special recognition to Erick from customer service. He was the first person I met — helped with my bags, showed me around, and instantly made me feel welcome. He was always happy, personable, and funny, and I saw him almost every day offering rides across the resort (which I usually declined because I enjoy walking — until I finally caved, and you could tell it genuinely made his day). One of the most special moments of my trip happened because of him. I had been told there was lots of wildlife, but I hadn’t seen the spider monkey I was hoping for and had pretty much accepted that it wasn’t going to happen. On my last day, Erick suddenly stopped the cart, got out, and started looking up into the trees — and there she was, a spider monkey with her baby. It was incredibly meaningful and something I won’t forget. I also loved the patio tour with Dayana. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the art throughout the resort and shared insights into Mayan culture, including a visit to the cenote. I genuinely felt lucky to learn something new — that experience meant a lot to me. A few honest notes for balance: * There is construction nearby, and when walking closer toward the water, you can hear it, which slightly breaks the jungle illusion. Thankfully, I didn’t hear any of it from my room. * The resort is a bit older than I expected, which initially threw me off, but it didn’t end up bothering me at all. * There are fewer scheduled activities compared to other resorts. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about that, but by the end of my stay, I realized it forced me to truly rest — something I probably wouldn’t have done if my days were jam-packed. * The mosquitoes and no-see-ums are real (bring bug spray!), but that’s part of being immersed in nature. The resort is quite long, so there are bikes and golf carts available if walking isn’t your thing — I personally loved the walks. Every single staff member greeted me daily, the wait staff were hilarious and warm, and even the sommelier was witty and personable (I don’t drink, and he jokingly told me to come find him when I decide to start — which genuinely made me laugh). Overall, the energy here felt calm, kind, and sincere. It truly seemed like people enjoy what they do, and I hope they do — because it shows. If you’re looking for a quiet, wellness-focused, nature-filled retreat, Blue Diamond is something really special.

Memorable experiences
Everything felt peaceful from the moment we arrived. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Dinners were delicious and even better with the beautiful landscapes around us. We also had a great snorkeling experience, with clear water and a lot of fish. One of our favorites parts was simply walking around the property, surrounded by nature and animals.

4th visit
This was our 4th time staying at the BD & we were wondering if it would still meet our expectations…. And the answer is YES!!!! We stayed for 11 nights. We had a lovely quiet & relaxing time as usual. The beach is beautiful & the guy who keeps it clean is amazing .. working all day to keep on top of it. Please TIP him, we did at the end of our stay! The food as per previous visits is excellent, really cannot complain, all was fresh, tasty & beautifully presented! The staff were all amazing who went out of their way to make you feel valued. Our favourite person was FABIEN, who would bring us an ice bucket at 5pm daily & was always making sure we had everything we wanted for our minibar. We enjoyed our chats with him, he is a very warm person & was always smiling, an asset to the hotel. We are now looking forward to our 5th visit, hopefully next year! Thank you to everyone for looking after us so well!
