Peaceful escape
It’s was a very nice experience! Our room was spacious and featured its own tub with an incredible view of nature. The closet was large and the bathroom had beautiful natural light coming through. The room felt very private even in the patio area, you couldn’t see anyone around. There were a few small details, like some stains on the floor and a bit of wear here and there, but nothing serious. The food was surprisingly delicious and the drinks were quite strong. The service was very personal, and since it’s a boutique hotel, there weren’t many guests, which made the experience very relaxing.

Super nice
The food and drinks were great, and I completely relaxed at the spa with a facial and a massage. This hotel has so much personality! It’s not like other hotels.

Such a beautiful hotel
The atmosphere is full of peace and relaxation. The people are very friendly and professional. Our room was clean and had a lovely view of the lagoon.

A little slice of paradise.
Difficult to know where to begin, but I’ll try. We’re a hard working parents who wanted a complete switch off for 2 weeks and boy did we find it. From the moment we arrived, it was bliss, the staff, the surroundings, the views, the wildlife and the food. We stayed in 416 but were upgraded to 221, overlooking the Senote. The rooms are exceptionally spacious with wonderful views, an ever filling up of the fridge of juices and beer etc. The room is cleaned daily and you have your own butler from 9-5 but we never needed this. The rooms are surrounded by wonderful jungle and beautifully laid out without being crowded. Be aware you are in the jungle and snakes, beautiful birds, Racoons, Coities and spider monkeys are around, with a couple of large crocs but it makes you feel at one with nature. Remember, you’re in their world. There are buggies that take you around the resort, to and from the beach, lobby, restaurant etc. Erik was one of our drivers and he is an absolute gentleman, always smiling and happy to chat. There are 3 restaurants, The Ambar, the main Seafront restaurant and the more casual snack restaurant in the beach. The food throughout is of the highest standard and we failed to have one bad meal. If you fancy more than one item, just ask, they don’t mind. Entertainment nights are wonderful and the jazz singer, saxophonist etc in the Ambar were 1st class. Smart dress is required at this one however. Ask Rameo for his flaming Tiramisu, a spectacle on its own and he knows his stuff. The bar location has incredible views over the white sands and aqua blue waters. The sand is raked throughout the day and the sun beds are aligned with military precision each night. Pool area is great. Food there can be ordered from upstairs and downstairs and you can mix and match if you want. The bar, run mainly by the one and only Juverli (Pappy) stocks all the best alcohol name brands you could want with Prosecco on tap. Always with a smile and a little whistle. If it’s not on the menu, he’ll make it. Whilst there, make sure you do the free snorkelling on the reef. I took it one step further with and did my PADI license with Karin @ Dive X Aquatics. Truly mind blowing and I can now dive anywhere in the world. That can be booked downstairs at the reef bar. We also went to Chichen Itza. If you haven’t been, you absolutely must. The place, the history will blow your mind. After all, it’s one of the seven wonders of the world, allowing you an insight into the Mayan civilisation. This can be booked at the concierge desk by the pool. The spa is lovely but expensive. £150 for a massage. The gym is well stocked but very dark indeed. Try the free Cacao introduction with Dayana, very enlightening and she’s passionate about it too. Try a swim in the cenote, it’s refreshing and truly an experience if you haven’t done something similar before. Big thanks to the following; Eduardo in the restaurant for his constant service and attention to me to being late to breast. The eggs Benedict are spot on, so are the juices. Jenny and her infectious smile. Juan and Arturo for keeping me and the guests lubricated at all times. April and Ivonne on reception for all their help. The staff at the reef bar for their service and great chicken wings. Raul for returning my phone when I left it twice on the buggy. Edwin for the room service, perfect. Finally one huge thanks, to Eric, the world’s happiest, friendliest and engaging sommelier I’ve ever met. A true gentleman who’ll spend time with you, knows his wine and will eventually end up in Paris or similar given his passion for the grape. So, any bad points to note. When busy, the buggies can sometimes be a little slow but it’s not an issue. There are bikes available to use but some are broken and tired. Mosquitoes, there are millions so take your own spray. The acclimation areas are fumigated daily but you’re trying to battle with nature, just not possible. I did expect rooms to have plug in bug killers given the location. Play del Carmen is about 30 mins away so you’ll need to get a taxi if you want to go outside the resort. There is a service station across the road if you need suntan lotion, snacks etc. There is a huge construction site going on next door which will last for maybe another 18 months. Whilst it didn’t ruin our stay, it was sometimes noticeable. I do hope it doesn’t ruin this incredible place. To sum it up, a fabulous destination with incredible memories and truly wonderful people.

Couples getaway
The atmosphere here is just amazing so chill and peaceful. The beach and the spa are the perfect spot if you’re looking for quiet and pure relaxation. The staff is so kind! And food just amazing! A big plus are the activities; the cacao ceremony is the best, snorkeling and Spanish lessons were also so much fun.
