Vacay Lifestyle

Overall our stay at Breathless in Punta Cana was great. My friends and I had a fabulous time the staff was magnifico. They did however try to rope us into sitting through a session where they I guess want to talk about their different properties and so forth we didn’t stay for that my friend was not having it she recognied the jargon right off the bat just let them know that you’re there for vacation not to sit through somebody’s ramblings about their property and so forth if that’s what you wanted that’s what you would’ve signed up for so just let it be known and keep it moving say thank you but no thank you be gracious. The food was just OK for the most part some of the restaurants that we tried where the French restaurant, Italian restaurant and The Silk ( really known for their sushi but nothing else... I hear their fried ice cream was good but I didn’t try myself ) My favorite dishes included the lamb chop from the French restaurant and the beef tenderloin I believe was the Italian restaurant, but I can’t remember the name of the restaurant they were to die for however be warned do not ask for the lobster bisque at the French restaurant that was a big no go ... there was no lobster ( it was one piece of shrimp on a teaspoon of mashed potatoes with some lobster broth LOL).. I think someone was confused! There was endless alcohol my only complaint all the drinks seem to be sweet that could’ve been my fault, though I can drink not sure how to order them lol... after a while everything started to taste the same . As for entertainment The staff were completely engage and gave it their all however some of the routines were a little repetitive, though they strive for some great performances they can use some work in this area some of them went on a little too long. The host though he meant well came across as too talkative at times, they need to work on that. As for the room accommodations they did have some issues with some of the rooms because of the recent storm. There was some storm damage (mostly a smell in the air) due to loss of power and so forth with the rooms, they weren’t really ventilated well, there was some mildew smell in some of the rooms but they do try to accommodate you as best they can. We were told they are continuing to work on this problem we had two rooms the first room seemed fine the second room however had a very strong mildew smell but we did report this to them and they did change our room immediately so they are willing to work with you. I will say it’s best to keep your AC on you can’t shut it off by the thermostat but if you open the door it shuts it off ... if you do this you run the risk of the room getting stuffy, condensation build up and everything will feel damp. Though it seems like I’m quoting a lot of negatives overall the trip was awesome you just have to make the most of your time go prepared with whatever you need to make your stay comfortable to you and do you, after all it’s not home it’s a resort some of the comforts are there but you have to be realistic as well. Housekeeping is available though we opted not to use that service they will keep your mini refrigerator stocked with beer, soda, water, club soda, OJ, etc. I celebrated my birthday there with my friends for a girls trip. If you let them know when you’re planning your trip they will provide you with a birthday banner for your door as well as a complementary birthday cake with some champagne . The cake was delicious. Hope this information was insightful and helps you when planning your trip! Also be mindful when booking your flights our travel arrangements were a little longer than we would have liked it to be. I think more research in finding direct flights if possible would’ve benefited us but we know for next time. Also I think more effort could have been made to ensure that when booking together we could have been seated together on flights and rooms near by rather than having to make those arrangements when we arrive at the resort especially where the rooms are concerned but in this case due to the mildew we had to make the necessary changes.

Magnifico! Yummy!

Beach was beautiful

Don't recommend paying the extra money to upgrade to the exhale club. Besides one additional place to dine, we didn't notice much of a difference. Our room was damp on arrival because the air wasn't working. Room surfaces were not clean. The Jacuzzi on the patio did not work. I do have to say there was prompt attention when any issues were brought up. Housekeeping came in immediately. Maintenance came to fix the air. People called daily to verify needs were met. The service is slow, but you're on vacation, and the people are very, very, friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The pools are nice, there's an area to party and an area to relax so you really have whatever you may need. The food and selection is great. The house wine is not. If you are a wine drinker, plan on purchasing your selection. Save room for desert!!

Worst experience

We would like to start by saying it was overall a very below average experience. We have been visiting multiple all inclusive resorts the last couple of years and this stands last of them all. I'll go step by step with our experience @breathless and my goal to is to share the overall experience *Airport to Resort:- Is a 45 mins drive and we used AmStar agency to travel which cost us around 35 $ for two people each way and was pretty decent & comfortable. *Arrival at the Rersot:- We were taken to a small room and were asked to wait and till called and when our turn came in to meet the receptionist in the room we were told that we were VIP guests and and were asked to go to different check-in place. This was because we upgraded to an Xhale membership to get the best ambiance possible as we experienced in other resorts and this cost us 340$ more. Once we were taken to the Xhale member hall with the reception the ambiance was pretty good and we were checked in pretty quick and the manager was very responsive. The same hall is also the premium bar for the Xhale guests. * The Resort:- There are two main pools at the resort with bars and are very decent and as expected. There is pool specific to the Xhale members which is very very small and is not worth your time. You get resort credits during your chekin but are useless. There is a very small casino with just a few tables. * Restairants:- There are around 6 restaurants in which only two are open for the buffet and a few selected ones per night. The French & The international cuisine were good and as expected. Italian and an other restaurant called Strip grill were just average. The japanse restaurant was the most hyped one but the worst we food we ever ate. We fell sick after eating the food as it contained a high amount of soy sauce which also has MSG, we are not sensitive to MSG but the amount is unbearable by anyone. Overall the food is bad and prepare to get sick and travel with peptmo bismol if you plan to visit. *Cleanliness:- The resort is clean but there are house flies every where literally every where in your food in the restaurants in the bar on your drinks and also dead flies floating in the pool and the management does not seem to be doing anything for it. So be prepared to fall sick. * Ambaiance:- service in this resort is very bad and do not expect to be treated with respect all the time. The receptionists do not behave with manners except during the check in time. They do not care and keep messaging on their phones even when your talking to them and this was in the VIP lounge and not sure how they behave with regular guests. The helpers are much decent and get all the things done pretty quickly and are easier to approach. * Service:- The bar service is decent but all the waiters don't seem to paid properly and expect high tips and also to be tipped every time. Which I have never seen in other all inclusive resorts. So if visiting this resort make sure to have at least a couple of extra hundred dollars in cash. * Xhale club:- This was a 340$ upgrde which was not the worth as you can use it only in 3 places - breakfast/lunch, the premium bar and the beach. There is nothing more to it and will have to pay extra hundred dollars to use any other services related to it. - Not worth it. *Rooms :- rooms are decent but nothing special to mention and the rooms have poor beach views and the only views are to the pools. Overall experience: - Not worth the money or the time and we were very disspoined and would suggest to vist some other resort. This resort needs to get more organised and improve in customer service.

What's to Love

A Las-Vegas-meets-South-Beach mash-up, Breathless Punta Cana is an adults-only playground for elite, discerning travelers.

Here, you can either frolic or lounge, (or toggle between the two states), in an escape zone of unhinged revelry and bliss.

Rockin' suites (the size of the Grand Canyon) with stress-busting Jacuzzis on your private terrace.

Baths have Jack and Jill vessel sinks in hip, bright colors (orange, yellow), which will bring a little happy to your sleepy-eyed morning.

You can pamper yourself with Zero % Gilchrist & Soames luxury bath products.

A transcendent, lush spa offers a bevy of tantalizing, worry-smashing, soul-transporting treatments. (Defies description, actually.)

The Bachelorette Party Package - the last fling before the ring. Boom.

Shimmering, sparkling beaches with glistening sand have perch-worthy cabanas.

There's an expansive main pool, swim-up bar, a multi-level Freestyle pool and four other pools all waiting for you.

What We'd Change

The drive from the airport might seem like it's far, but once you arrive, you're going to be swept away. And, be prepared to receive a cocktail upon arriving because the staff at Breathless knows you're ready to party!

Why You Should Go

The pheromone-raising monthly fetes like Menage a Deux a Trois and weekly bashes like Dirty Dancing Night.

You can go topless horseback riding, if you dare.

Water sports galore: Kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran, paddle boating, and more.

Pool aerobics for those who want to burn calories to keep that beach bod.

There's a coral reef 1.5 miles from the main land - dreamy perfect for snorkeling or scuba.

Check out the nearby historic sites - 16th century Mediterranean village on a dramatic cliff, or the south-east tip of the island for turquoise water.

The dolphins are near for a fun day trip. But you might be too busy making history of your own.

A casino that is the very definition of world-class. You have to see to understand.

Hotel Description

Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa: Noble Beach Prize Winner - Best Beach-o-tainment

Imagine: the water you are standing is so blue, you can't quite believe it's real. Then, as you pad across the soft sugar sand on the way to your hot stone massage you are besieged with passing winks and adoring whispers from attractive, beguiling strangers - who aren't creepy. You like them. After your spa treatment, you savor the blessings of Latin Criollo gourmet cuisine, then look at your watch, and smile: it's only six more hours until the foam party. Time to be bold because topless sunbathing is permitted at pool and the beach - who wants a tan line, anyways?!

At Breathless, this isn't a fantasy. It's time to Live Big. Breathe Deep.

Yes, Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa is not a stop on your Mamaw's cruise or a weekend at Aunt Gladys' beach retirement home. No, it's a totally unchained, luscious den of practically anything goes in the tropics. Here, you can sleep, nap, party, meditate, even juggle, amidst chic-slathered, modern dwellings a la Architectural Digest with sleek interiors - all blessed with sunny, soothing organic colors inspired by the Dominican Republic. The linchpin? Unlimited-Luxury® is King and Queen. Prince and Princess. Here's what that looks like:

  • 24-hour room service and a daily refreshed mini-bar.
  • Limitless premium beverages. Top-shelf everything. (Rock star existence, basically).
  • Sumptuous international and fusion cuisine. Gourmand Central.
  • No reservations at restaurants. Walk right in and have a seat. You are always the guest of honor.
  • Furnished private balcony or terrace with an aahh-some Jacuzzi.
  • Maid service twice a day. No making beds in this haven.
  • Two-tiered pool that rocks.
  • 4 outdoor Jacuzzis (they're everywhere!)
  • No tipping or wristbands required.
  • Guests at Breathless Punta Cana will have full access to Now Onyx Punta Cana - excluding Preferred Club areas.
  • Sip, Savor & See, a coolio program lets you nosh/partay at the neighboring resorts.
  • Unlimited Connectivity mobile app - you'll never lose touch with anyone. (And they'll never lose touch with you, which while you're here, is probably a good thing).

DINING

Are you in the mood for Italian, Lebanese, or Latin Criollo? How about French, Tapas (Spanish) or Pan-Asian? There's also a grill where you can get less fancy fare, plus a coffee cafe where you can get your necessary morning Joe. These yum spots are just a sampling of the 11 palate-slaying places where you can get your grub on.
