It was our first time at an all inclusive resort. It was very enjoyable. Our butlers Linda and Frida were very helpful and helped with all of our questions.

A great relaxing trip
Come, stay, relax! The Butlers are absolutely amazing. The staff in the restaurants are amazing. I would only recommend better pool side food. The grill pool side could have been better food and had better taste. Avoid this spot at all times. The room service food is the same, just mediocre. However, the restaurants and the service is impeccable.

Top Resort, the best staff!
I highly suggest TRS Coral! We had an amazing experience and had the best Butler, Freddy. He was extremely helpful and kind, making our experience smooth and fun. Always on top of all our questions and requests, and believe me we had a bunch. Ask for him if possible.

Honeymoon Trip
My stay at TRS Coral Hotel Fans 💖 Cancun - Costa Mujeres left a lot to be desired. It was our honeymoon and we spent several thousands of dollars at a highly recommended hotel to ensure we had a memorable honeymoon. It was memorable because it was our honeymoon, and not because of the hotel. Pre-arrival experience: The experience started with the inability to reach anyone at the hotel reliably. Calls went ignored and emails took 2 weeks to be responded to. I was reaching out to do something special for my wife as it was our honeymoon. All Guillermo Arce told me was “we will see what we can do when you get here”. Well, nothing was done. No rose petals, no sign – nothing to make my wife feel special. Arrival experience: We had a floor room with a private pool in building 2. We were facing the walkway to the main building. The problem with these rooms is that “adults” can behave like teenagers celebrating they can finally have their first alcoholic beverage, screaming and swimming across your side of the pool. This prompted us to ask the hotel “can other guests swim from room to room inside the “private pool”? Well, no one knows. Some at the hotel say no, and others yes. Thankfully, those couples left and we did not have to deal with them for the week we were there. However, a couple of teenage kids started swimming at 11pm and again screaming and acting like kids. Be warned about these rooms with a swim up. Inspecting the room with the bellman still in it, the light in the shower fell. We told the engineer that came to fix it “will that happen again? We wouldn’t want that light falling on our heads while showering". We were told “no, all will be good” we were told. Ok then. Additionally, there is many people that try to sell you stuff when you arrive. The check-in takes about 45 minutes so come prepared for that. Then when you arrive at the room, you get more calls for the hotel to sell you trips, massages, and other stuff…this was annoying. I think if you have you do not disturb on, they won’t call you. Experience throughout the hotel: Not sure why people keep saying employees at the hotel cater only to foreigners. My wife and I are both Hispanics, and they treated us amazing. Almost EVERYONE tells you good (time of day) and smiles at you while you walk past them. The most notable employees were Yuly at the lobby bar, Laura and Juan at the pool took great care of us and so did one of our butlers, named Sakny. Although I did not name many folks we interacted with, the VAST majority of them are amazing. We tipped literally everywhere…is that a reason why we were treated right? Doubtful. We were treated right the moment we walked in. The rooms with a private pool are great. We spent a lot of time there. Definitely, a great buy especially during slow times of the year. The weather in Cancun is amazing. Even if it gets cloudy, the sun comes out almost immediately. The resort is big and you will probably not be able to see it all. Make sure you plan your stay prior to arrival. The bad: Remember how I said we were promised the light in the shower was not going to fall? Well, a couple of days later the light came crashing down barely missing my wife’s head. This startled my wife to hell. We called and asked for a manager. We explained that this is the second time this has happened and what if we got electrocuted or that thing cracked her head with one of the metal sides of the lamp. The Butler’s Leader when he arrived, never asked her if she was ok or needed help or attention. All he tried to do was explain that it was an LED that would not electrocute her. Completely unacceptable way to handle the situation. To make up the hotel gave us a free massage. Also, they did the rose petals and sign for our honeymoon THEN. After 4 days at the hotel and my wife having the scare of her life. Good try but a little too late by then. Another issue I had was getting my forearm burned by a hot plate at Gaucho. The server did tell me the plate was hot and obviously I didn’t want to burn myself. But trying to get the pepper, I did burn myself. When I told the server they say “that’s too bad we used to have the plastic protectors but I don’t know what happened to them”. Again, no “are you ok?” “Would you like a band aid?” “Is there anything we can do for you?” Nothing. Nothing at all. 100% unacceptable. Regarding butlers, Sakny was great but the other butler we had got into it with my wife over text because she was asking how we could cancel a trip to Isla Mujeres we did with the gentleman that stands by the bar of the pool. The butler told my wife “I have other guests to tend to” when all she was asking was what can she do to cancel the trip. Again unacceptable. Butlers are there to assist you and please you but oftentimes they put the burden on what you need back to you. We needed to call a manager and we are told to “call the front desk”. We wanted to alert rowdy people on the pool and their response is “report it to security”. If I have to do everything, why are they there? They failed several times to leave towels in the room as requested as well as water. The guy in front of the pool bar is another thing you need to watch out for. He is a third party and not affiliated with the hotel at all. He doesn’t say that, and no one at the hotel tells you that either. No one in the hotel knows him or has a way to get in contact with him. If you book something with him and change your mind later that day after he leaves you are screwed. Say goodbye to your money. We booked a trip we book to Isla Mujeres which we did not want to do because the Cocobongo show was just way too much for us and we going to arrive super late at the hotel. We ended up going and my wife loved snorkeling and we enjoyed Isla Mujeres. If you do decide to go, take the early trips so that you are able to enjoy the island with a golf cart longer. Golf carts are the way to transport yourself over there. Don't spend more than $30 bucks for the day or else you are being scammed. Also, make sure you make it back to the golf cart shop on time or you won’t be able to get your driver’s license back. Cocobongo is on another level. Great club. If you are not into clubs or still scared of COVID don't go. If you go be warned is loud and packed. It's a crazy experience but it is worth experiencing it. If you are into the club scene, you will be right at home. The Zentropia spa is AMAZING. Alejandra was my masseuse and she was INCREDIBLE. Definitely spend the money to get a massage and explore the pool and hydrotherapy offerings. They are incredible. All in all, I would give this hotel a 3.5 out of 5. There were a lot of things we liked, and a lot of things we didn't like. Both my wife and I are managers at hotels in the USA and come from moderate backgrounds in Hispanic countries. We don't go to hotels being snob-a-holes. We know exactly how hard these folks are working and going through. some of them, don't have off days unless they tell their bosses “I need a day off”. It's a crazy work culture there. I don't write this to talk crap about the place or its people, but just because I'm hoping it will be helpful to you.
