While the resort grounds are attractive and the scheduled activities are enjoyable, numerous issues have significantly impacted the quality of my stay—issues that are not acceptable for a hotel that advertises itself as a 5-star property. 1. Service — especially beach service Throughout almost a full week on property, I was approached by beach wait staff only twice. Service in this area was largely nonexistent. Additionally, on multiple occasions, both the beach and pool areas ran out of towels. For a beach resort, this is extremely disappointing and entirely avoidable. 2. Suite cleanliness and housekeeping The cleanliness of the room and the overall maintenance of the suite were below standard. Housekeeping appeared to only make the bed, remove towels, and empty trash. No surfaces were cleaned, as evidenced by coffee rings remaining on our table even after the room had been “serviced.” The furniture contained dark stains and clearly had not been properly cleaned or maintained. We also experienced persistent gnats in our room despite not storing food inside. Furthermore, upon arrival on day one, we encountered several maintenance issues including a TV that was improperly mounted and a slow-draining sink. Although maintenance responded promptly, these basic issues should not have been present in a room marketed as luxury. 3. Food quality The food provided was consistently below expectations. While I understand that all-inclusive dining has limits, the quality here fell far short. I had to return multiple dishes—something I rarely do—due to poor preparation. The steaks in particular were problematic; regardless of how they were ordered, they arrived well-done and nearly inedible. The steak served at El Gaucho was not consumable. These recurring issues collectively demonstrate a significant gap between the hotel’s advertised standards and the actual guest experience.

Three years in a row!
Great trip! Great tennis! Great food! This is our third year coming to TRS and it didn’t disappoint! Making the experience even better was Fernando “speedy Gonzalo’s” who was a fabulous server at the pool. He was friendly, attentive and of course speedy. He took an interest in talking to us and it is service like that that makes all the difference! We will be back!

Fernando’s the best
This review is for Fernando, he’s the best. Fernando made our poolside experience the best part of our stay. He was attentive, friendly, and always remembered our preferences without us having to ask. He checked on us often, kept our drinks full, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Truly exceptional service.
