A holiday we will remember for a long time….
We had the most beautiful week at Verandah Resort! After reading some negative reviews, I didn’t know what to expect, but everything was perfect for us and beyond our expectations. Clean spacious rooms, spotless and well kept resort, all facilities in the resort were amazing, from the pool, gym, restaurants etc. The food in the restaurants was delicious with lots of choice, each night was a different theme. The beach party on the Friday evening was so special and the highlight of our holiday! The beaches in the resort are gorgeous and so many sun loungers were available. We used the water sports from lovers beach everyday, such a nice addition! The staff were friendly and everyone we saw said hello. Overall we had a gorgeous time and it’s a holiday we will remember for a very long time - highly recommend!

Great Week at the Verandah
We just returned from a one week stay at the Verandah Resort and Spa and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The staff overall was exceptional and the food above average for an all inclusive. The service at the a la carte restaurants was excellent, however we did experience some inconsistencies in service at the buffet in regards to clearing dishes, filling water and bringing coffee in the morning. The resort is spread out nicely so it never felt crowded. The main pool offered activities throughout the day and we enjoyed spending time on Lover’s Beach. The water was calm and clear and circular floats dotted the water. We also visited Rasta Beach; which is at the other end of the resort. The beach itself was beautiful with many lounge chairs available under the palm trees. The water, however, is shallow with sea weed and not inviting for swimming. There was a nice pool located here so that made up for the shortcomings of the sea. As a response to a recent review regarding loud and brash Americans( we were staying here at the same time this review was posted), I can attest that we never experienced any inappropriate loud behavior during our time there. We were at the main pool quite often and the only noise we heard were guests participating in water aerobics or having fun playing volleyball. There are other pools located on site if one prefers a quieter atmosphere. I will say the guests we met were all friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed talking to them throughout our stay. Also, previous reviews complained about pool/beach towels being scarce. I’m happy to say they addressed this issue as towels were continually replenished throughout the day. Needless to say, we were very happy with our stay at the Verandah.

Beautiful property with a welcoming and attentive staff made this a vacation we will always cherish.
Friendly staff that are extremely welcoming and seem to be happy to be at work. The landscaping on the grounds is immaculate. Enjoyed the beaches, pools, pickleball, and variety of cuisines and dining options throughout the week. Patricia and Gus and the entire Verandah team made this a vacation that we will always remember. Thank you!

Pleasantly surprised
Currently midway through our week stay here. Rooms: quite spacious, loved how all the rooms look like colonial house with a front porch. We had a water view suite king and water view suite 2 queen with sofa area, chest of drawers, clothes closet and sink area with glasses and mugs and coffee machine but no cutlery. The other room had a kettle. Lovely wide balcony at back with table and chairs. Nothing really to hang wet swimwear on but I always bring a strong piece of rope and pegs so can always adapt to what is available. Patio doors are hard to open and only some rooms have a netted door too. Aircon was cold at night and only 2 thin blankets provided. Open shower which isn’t really powerful, towels are enough for 2days as service is every other day. Plenty of cupboard space for clothes as well as some hangers. Ironing board, iron and hairdryer available in rooms. Safe was an issue in one room as locked without a key lock, couldn’t use but as we had the other on, used that one instead. Hefty fee if you lose the key. Buggies can be called to take you to where you want in the resort. There are phone points such as near the pool bar, mini golf area. There is an ongoing noise each night from dusk that is loud and continuous until early morning. Think it’s the nightlife, sounds like an ongoing car alarm. Be prepared for all the tiny ants on sink or bedframe. Pool: used the main pool each day but as we wanted shade throughout the day, we did go around 8 or 8:30 am to get the right spot. Think a lot of guests reserve beds and go to the beach and then come up later. Entertainment is a tad weak and mostly music playing. Aqua aerobics and volleyball seemed to happen daily. Nice touch with the cold towels offered once during the day. There was another small pool but didn’t have much shade for sunbeds although tables were in the shade. Ant issue again where drinks are left near sunbeds Food: sea breeze is main buffet restaurant. Didn’t really have much variety for vegetarians for breakfast. Even when asked to use different utensils food is cooked on the same skillet which was off putting. Havent been for lunch yet. Avoided portofino and Nicole’s as no veg option. Shame papa Riccos is only open for pizza during the afternoon. You can book the restaurants 2 days in advance. Salt and tails was ok and chef was able to make a pasta dish without fish. Found that drinks made were quite strong or too sweet as a lot of syrups used. Nice touch with the coffee shop as made lovely iced cookies and cream, cakes and cookies available as well as fruit pots. Open til late too. Seabreeze has a smoothie station. Odd that they couldn’t make some recipes as ran out of the fruit but the fruit was available to the buffet. Didn’t see any strawberries during our time although advertised Amenities: games area was hardly in use. Has an area for table tennis, darts, pool and shuffleboard. Mini golf area is nice to do in the evening when cooler. Looked in need of a bit of a makeover. Also no phone there to call a golf buggy so had to try at the beach grill which was closed at night. Toilet facilities available there. Beware though as think most of my mosquitoe bites might be from there! Gift shop on site, didn’t see anything much outside the resort on the way in. Beach: so far been to Lovers beach. Plenty of sunbeds with shade. Clear water although we did use of water shoes when swimming up to the net pods. Bar available although steps down so not suitable for anyone who would struggle with these. Lovely well maintained resort on the whole and staff are friendly. Lovely views too around d the resort. Mixture of American and British guests. The resort tax wasn’t mentioned when we booked so be warned for end of the stay. Any rain showers were short lived.

Not as we expected
Currently staying at The Veranda. Been here just over a week. Good points Resort spotless, but very hilly for less mobile, although there are golf buggies to run you around. Rooms excellent, large, housekeeping brilliant. Bar and restaurant staff excellent. Rasta beach, man made cove. Not suitable for swimming . Lovers beach, natural cove. Very shallow, watersports, Both fine. Not so good points. No dress code for evening. Not saying should be fancy but guest allowed into main dining room wearing sweaty fitness wear after playing ’pickleball’ all day is far from acceptable. No fitness wear should be allowed in the evening, sweaty or otherwise. This is not a sports club. Meant to be a 4* hotel. Overall guests spoil the resort. Lots of loud, brash, rude Americans who drink all day or play ‘ pickleball’. Senior Mangement only interested in speaking to Americans (probably because they’re not all inclusive so tip) No senior members of staff have spoken to us in 10 days to ask if things are ok. Overall not bad, but due to bad points, very disappointed and would not return. Management definitely need to think and speak to others guests other than Americans or you will loose the British as most we’ve spoken to feel exactly the same.
