  We recently stayed at this Hyatt property and overall had a very mixed experience. There were definitely some positives, including a beautiful beach with plenty of shade, a calm and relaxing Preferred pool area, and great mocktails. We also want to acknowledge two stand-out employees, Ezekiel at the beach and Johan Pierre at the Preferred Lounge bar, who provided excellent service and were consistently warm, attentive, and reliable. Unfortunately, we also experienced two major issues that significantly impacted our stay. First, the Preferred upgrade and check-in process was very disappointing. Before arriving, my husband exchanged multiple emails with the resort and received confirmation that we could upgrade to the Preferred Club during our stay, including pricing, benefits, and availability. When we checked in, we were told that no Preferred room was available and that we would need to stay in a non-Preferred room the first night and switch the following day. Although the team eventually upgraded us to a swim-out room, it was frustrating not being able to settle in, especially after having written confirmation. We also did not receive several of the Preferred amenities we were expecting and had to ask for items that should have been automatically provided. In addition, communication about how to handle our luggage during the room switch was very inconsistent, and my husband spent over an hour going back and forth between calls and the front desk because staff members gave conflicting instructions. The second major concern was related to guest safety and allergies. My husband has a nut allergy, and every restaurant host asked about allergies upon arrival, so we assumed this information was being recorded and communicated internally. Despite that, he was still served walnuts on a complimentary meat and cheese plate at dinner. This could have resulted in a serious medical emergency and is extremely concerning. If staff members are going to ask for allergy information, there must be a reliable process to ensure it is communicated clearly to servers and the kitchen. In addition to these major issues, we encountered several paid-amenity and service inconsistencies. One example was our reserved beach cabana, which we paid extra for and were told would be fully prepared by 9:00 AM. When we arrived at 9:30, the cabana was completely wet, had no towels, and did not have our name displayed to indicate that it was reserved for us. We had to find someone to dry it, bring towels, and physically set it up ourselves, and no staff member checked in with us until well after 10:00 AM. For something that requires an additional fee, this experience did not match the advertised value or level of service. More broadly, there were numerous other smaller inconsistencies that, while individually manageable, added up over the course of our stay. Restaurant hours and menus did not always match what was posted or displayed, food and drink availability varied without explanation, and options were especially limited on nights when multiple restaurants were closed. Housekeeping and turn-down service were unpredictable, in-room information screens were outdated, Wi-Fi was unreliable, and even basic amenity upkeep such as umbrellas and seating availability was not consistently managed. There are wonderful employees here and some aspects of the resort that are very enjoyable, but due to the inconsistent service, miscommunication surrounding the upgrade, the issue with the cabana we paid for, and the serious allergy incident, our stay did not meet the level of quality we expected from Hyatt. I hope this feedback is helpful, as the resort clearly has potential with stronger communication, better training, and improved operational consistency.

  All great!

  Secrets Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. From start to finish, we were greeted by our concierge, Baretto with a warm smile and genuine attitude. He stayed in constany contact with us to ensure we were aware of daily activities and he also made us feel special by acknowledging our anniversary. For that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The room was perfect and kept nicely by the housekeeping staff. Food was amazing!!! The grounds were beautiful. The entire staff was professional and super friendly. The experience was awesome. It really was a wonderful / relaxing time.

  Secrets Cap Cana

  Our trip to Secrets Cap Cana was amazing! The resort is beautiful! The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were in a preferred king jr suite ocean view and our butler Leonardo was very helpful and responsive the entire week.

  Secrets Cap Cana is the place to go!!

  Secrets Cap Cana was a great place to honeymoon. I would 100% go back in the future. Some of the best parts of our experience was how clean the resort was and how friendly all of the staff was. Our personal concierge was Julio and he was very helpful and informative, offering his recommendations on things to do around the resort daily. All of the food was amazing and service was spectacular. Manuel was the best bartender!
