Peace of Heaven in Punta Cana

Great trip start to finish. We were in building 5, 6th floor ocean view. Convenient to fitness center and Spa. There is no need to get Preferred at this resort unlike secrets Los Cabos Golf and Spa where we had to book everything at the begining of week or you couldn't get in to eat. We walked into all restaraunts with minimal wait. Top shelf booze, great beach, Great staff and sugar white sand . There was no seaweed that would concern you.The food is prepared for many cultures so you may not get it exactly the way your used to but thats part of an all inclusive. All the rooms are the same size and very nice. There are little flaws here and there and surprising for a resort only a year old but still better than any other all incusives we have been to. I would put Secrets above Sandals as well unless you like diving because they do not have it. We did scape park. I would not bother with zip lines because they are small. We are close to New Hampshire and we have incredible zip lines. We did the Blue Hole which was pretty cool but you relly are going to want to be there for 15 minutes and scoot.. If you do go get express or private tour so you can get in and out quick instead of waiting for nothing. Your resort may not even know there is express so let them know to call ahead. Do not get the lunch. It's horrible. Entertainment is great. Most shows are good in theatre at night. Don't bother with $200 resort credit to look at time shares. It seems to kill many ours of a day and your just prepaying for future trips.

Repeat attenders :)

This was our 2nd time at Secrets Cap Cana and the service for the most part was top notch. We learned the hard way that this was peak season and accordingly it was the most we've ever spent on a trip and sadly we were disappointed with the room. It was not the comfort of the room, that was great, it was the location. The young man at check-in made it sound like he was upgrading us because we had been with them only 9 months ago, he said he was giving us a "partial ocean view". I guess he considered that because he put us on the 4th floor and not a ground floor, I don't know. When we got to the room we found out that in reality what we got was a category of room that they don't even have listed. It wasn't garden view, pool view or ocean view. It was CONSTRUCTION VIEW ugh! We asked if we could be moved to another room and were told it would cost us a lot more, and having already paid peak prices it just wasn't in our budget. Sadly it put a damper on our plans for a romantic soak in the private tub on the balcony as well as our romantic anniversary breakfast in bed. All that said, what was lacking in regard to our room view was outweighed by the service we received and we will absolutely return to this complex. The service was great, everything is very well kept. We loved the additions made since our last visit; lighting on the beach, fire pit on the beach, more cabanas and new beds on the beach as well as bathrooms on the beach. I believe there is room for improvement as far as the entertainment goes. They had great live music in the lobby every evening but the shows in the theater were a average. As far as the entertainment personnel a couple were loud and seemed to like drawing attention to themselves. None of them were particularly engaging. The food was ok, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I would like to acknowledge one staff member that I feel went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Leonardo, our concierge, was the most efficient young man. It was almost like having a personal assistant on vacation!! He kept in contact with via text message to greet us every morning, see if we had any request for the day, and to follow up and remind us of scheduled things. The service he provided was stupendous! If AM Resorts is looking for a model employee, this is definitely the guy! Professional, polite, efficient, positive, great attitude, I could continue but I'm sure you get the point.

perferred or not perfered

travel every 6 week, been to this resort in Jan 2017, and 3 other secrete resorts in the lat 12 months, came back because it has one of the best beaches we have been to besides tulum and grace bay, beautiful resort, pool is very nice, great tub on the balconies, pool rafts and chairs, rooms are fantastic, food and especially the service is 100 % better than 11 months ago, it is a great place even know the beds are way to hard and the food is almost always cold. the reason we will never go back to any secretes is the preferred club, in Jan we were able to use the restaurant by the pool for breakfast, not no more it is preferred members only which left only the cold buffet, a segregated beach and room and other amenities for the elite members is fine with us, the problem is when they start segregating common areas like the restaurant in cap cana or the pool in Jamaica, it is like booking a 5 star resort and being able to use only 3 or 4 stars. it makes u feel like your dis invited or at a ...almost all inclusive.... at times. for that reason is why we will never return. we will be back to iberostar next month.
