Happy Happy Guests
We have just returned from the resort and again the services provided are the best. Sucel our concierge Villa 24, went above and beyond what is asked of her. Her help in dealing with my limited mobility was equal to none. Sucel went out of her way to provide our meal requests and our transportation to and from the airport. Sucel always treated us with respect and kindness. She is a wonderful ambassador for your company. As for our pool experience, it is always great to The pool boys (Genaro, Edwardo, Javier, Luis and Jorge) are the best. They are efficient and professional. Your activity staff (Carlos, Roberto and Alexa) always make certain you’re ok and enjoying yourself. They are also fun. Our breakfast servers at the Grill (Jesus, Irene, Angel and David) are just the best. Service with a hug and a smile. Our servers at the Palazzo (Edwardo, Angel and the maître D Roberto) again were very efficient and pleasant to be around. Same can be said about our visit at the Azia restaurant (Yara and Oscar). Always service with a smile and happy to see you again. Carlos the maître D and our server Godroy at the evening meals at the Grill were also very professional and happy to help. As for the porters (Juan 1, Juan 2, Marcos and Dariel) always helpful and gracious. We would also like to thank Garry?? At reception for helping us deal with the paperwork quickly. Really appreciated. Again, your great staff and your wonderfully landscaped resort has us always coming back. We shall see you in December 2026.

Great food and beach
Much better all inclusive than others we have used. Dinner each night was off a menu, much better than buffet. Lunch could be buffet or menu depending on how quickly one wanted to eat. Good service in general.

Complications with check in, dinner reservations, and electricity during stay
I called the hotel a month in advance to adjust my reservation and was told it wouldn’t be an issue and was given a confirmation code about the adjustment. Checking in I was told we had to pay around 3300 for a room that was sub par and didn’t cost nearly the price that was paid. I asked for a different room but the staff wasn’t helpful and they disregarded the confirmation code I said I was given a month prior. We then had the pool outside out stay out of service was well as the electricity going out THREE separate times out of our 4 night stay. Not having electricity 3 nights on vacation when getting ready is unacceptable. I have been on many all inclusive vacations and this had been by far the worst experience. I could’ve complained much more but wasn’t trying to ruin my vacation and the hotel wasn’t any help in the first place to begin with. Then on top of all of this, we asked ahead of time for combined tabes for seating and we were only accommodated once out of the 4 nights. Truly unprofessional and zero type of reimbursement.

Outstanding Service & Beautiful, Relaxing Resort
This was our 13th visit to the Barceló Royal Hideaway Playacar, and it continues to be our favorite place thanks to the incredible staff who consistently go above and beyond. The resort is absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We would especially like to recognize Ricky Rosas, who always makes our trips memorable and seamless. Prior to our arrival this trip we were staying next door at the Allegro Playacar with our family, and Ricky personally came over to pick us up and arranged for our luggage to be transferred and ensured our room was ready the moment we arrived. Throughout our stay, Ricky always checks on us several times a day and wis always offering his assistance—anything he can do to improve our experience. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for guests truly set him apart. He is the absolute best concierge we have ever had both here and at other resorts. He goes above and beyond for everyone, and it does not go unnoticed. We would also like to thank Roberto and his Water Sports team, especially Henry, for their outstanding service and friendliness. A special shout-out to the pool service team—Genaro, Eduardo, Luis, Javier, and Jorge—who were attentive, welcoming, and always make each snd every day by the pool exceptional. Kudos as well to the incredibly talented guitarist, saxophone player, and violinist who performed at the pool during this trip. Their music added such a special and relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I absolutely love this resort and look forward to returning again and again, thanks to staff members like Ricky and the entire Royal Hideaway Playacar team who consistently deliver an exceptional experience.

Awesome trip to Royal Hideaway in Playa de Carmen, Mexico
We have had awesome trip to the Royal Hideaway. We have stayed this resort in the past. The experience was 11+ thanks to our concierge Ricky. Very helpful and checked on us daily, including during his day off. He always want to make sure his guest are taking care of. He helped us with dinner reservations . Ricky embodies service and any hotel would be lucky have him be of their staff. He is a key reason we already booked our 2026 summer vacation back at the Royal Hideaway. The pool staff are awesome- Jorge, Luis. Genero, Javier. They keep the drinks coming. Lastly, water aerobics with Roberto is a must! Roberto brings high energy and infectious enthusiasm during this daily event.
