    My Experience at Royal Hideaway Playacar

    I stayed at Royal Hideaway Playacar and it was an incredible experience. The hotel has an elegant and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. The colonial-style villas surrounded by tropical gardens are beautiful, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with a private terrace and a whirlpool bathtub. The dining experience was excellent: the hotel offers six fine dining restaurants, all à la carte. We tried Mexican, Italian, and Asian cuisine, all of outstanding quality. It's important to book early, as getting a reservation can be tricky, and breakfast service was a bit slow at times. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Each villa has its own concierge, although during busier days, service at the beach and spa was slightly slower. The beach itself is spectacular: white sand, crystal-clear water, and a very peaceful setting. We also enjoyed several pools, including an infinity pool with stunning ocean views. We participated in activities like water sports and live entertainment, and the spa experience was amazing, especially the couples' massages. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from downtown Playa del Carmen. I highly recommend Royal Hideaway Playacar to anyone looking for tranquility, and personalized service. I will definitely return!

    FAMILY GATHERING WAS EXCELLENT

    We went as a a family gathering of adult siblings and spouses a group of 10 and had an excellent time. The food, the property atmosphere, entertainment, incredible staff, awesome spa, beach and pool area all were excellent relaxing, safe. No regrets!

    Been coming since 2017

    I have come here many times for my yearly girls trip. We had decided to try something different this year because of the continued decline we had seen in the last couple years at the resort. My cousin couldn’t come at the last minute so I decided a solo trip at RH would be safe since it’s what I know. I’m glad I came back! When I checked in, I could see that they are making improvements. I was told they have a new manager and are making things better. Sucel my concierge was great-Robert in activities was super fun-Ricky the concierge was also very helpful during my stay-and Antonio Lopez was my favorite waiter! For the first time in several years the dinner theatre was used again and there were nightly shows. I think they are trying to get back to what they were when we first started coming here. (Before Barcelo bought it) I appreciate the effort and I’m glad they finally started listening to their long-time repeat guests. For the travel friends I didn’t see this year-the ones who may have finally scratched RH off their list -it may be making a comeback! I missed everyone and cheers to next year!

    Great resort! Well be back!

    If you’re looking for an adults only resort RHA is a great option. Resort is very well maintained with spacious rooms as well as a concierge that will take care you during your stay. Cipriano our concierge was always on the ball. We will return!

    Great small and chill resort!

    We had a great time, the first couple of days the wind was ok so we got to enjoy a great beach. water was wonderful and they work so hard to clear seaweed. Unfortunately trade winds make this unpredictable. Thankfully the pool area is fine and the staff, Roberto, Exal and Raul made it heaven for our 3 sister trip. Food was good though lunch was less good than other meals. Early bookings for dinner likely mean you will not be rushed out. Their villa concierge service is friendly and efficient. David was highly responsive. Rooms are great to share because of spacious bathroom, great beds (loved the Nespresso machine) and balcony was lovely sit out in.
