2nd Visit November 2025 Para Los Duenos-For The Owners
Our 2nd Visit, April & November 2025- Weather this time was pretty nice, we had one full day of rain, a Norte was here first couple of days, nonetheless came back with a tan. Pools were cold but not as bad like April. Early mornings not bad, colder in April. Bring a sweater for evenings. Jose Milo front desk clerk , outstanding service! Always said hi to us each time we saw him, his associate Luis M just as nice, gracias. I adore this resort, but it needs some major TLC. The rooms are a good size and the beds are very large and comfortable. AC was working, large patio. The patio walls need to be washed, there is bird poop stains that I had to look at every time I was on or patio. Please keep up with washing the walls. We always take an air freshener and hook it on the air vent, when we walk into room after a day the aroma is inviting. I mentioned in my April review for the whole resort of people they put out at different times in the early am ONLY one urn of coffee. This is unacceptable, our friends drink a lot of coffee and it is gone in no time as the line is long. I met the nicest crew of management and introduced myself. I kindly asked them to consider making a Coco Cafe, with AC and perhaps paint the dining area and put some new artwork on the walls. The brand is very outdated! The restaurants all good food, yet the times to wait for your food takes a long time to get it to us 1.5 to 2 hours, unacceptable! Hire more help. There is no buffet here, you have to provide room # and if you have any allergies each time to eat at the grill. Why do you have to write this down, what is done with so much paper, this process is so outdated. For dinner men need to wear pants and collar shirt/polo, not at all restaurants but do bring pants and shirt no sandles for men. The bread they serve you is a piece at a time and they do not leave the bread basket, they walk away with it. No entertainment in the evenings, they have an indoor bar and a cove like outdoor quartet playing music. But no nightlife if this is what you like it is not here. The pool entertainment is great, Alexa, Roberto, Carlos & towel guy Alexis C you make our trip so much fun! The waiters have been here for years are some of the best we've had, Eduardo Canepa, Jorge Ramirez, JavierBatun, Gerardo Ek, & Luis Dominguez. Gracias por todo! Our phone did not work in our room and thank you to Roberto G for hooking us up with our concierge Ricki Rosa's, he took care of our group. Even with the suggestions mentioned we will return and we have hope things will change. The ocean was nice, my favorite beach here & we have made friends with many of the locals. Playacar is a Gated community and we have always felt safe here. Directly across the street tons of shopping for your souvenirs. And you can find several quiet pools thru out the resort for tranquility. Having members reserve the pool loungers needs to be eliminated, guests that are not members may not be able to ever have a front row experience to the "main" pool. No palapas on the beach only cabana like covering that you have to pull upward and you'll have to sit under those contraptions. We met alot of good people Hi Gill from Rhode Island. Gracias a todos!

Always a great time
We love this little gem. Adults only with excellent service, great location and delicious food. We have been going for a few years now. The service is always great. We love the beach service, Luis and Jorge were always attentive. We also love that all the dinners are restaurants and not buffet!! Much cleaner. In the pass I mention that the beach chairs were old and uncomfortable, well they listen because the chairs have been upgraded and they are nice clean and comfortable!! Never had an issue locating chairs at the beach.

RH is our favorite!
The food was excellent, the room quiet and comfortable, our concierge, Sandra was great, as was Chef Benito! Some restaurants need more servers to help speed up service.

Another wonderful stay
Where do I begin!!! Another wonderful stay at the RH. This is our 10th visit and we cannot wait to return. From start to finish our stay was perfect. The entire resort is stunning. The food incredible. Even better than before thanks to the new Manager Luis. What a wonderful man. RH is lucky to have him. All staff are incredible. The place is spotless. Everyone from bellboys, room service, gardeners, pool cleaners, reception staff all just amazing. Now a little shout out to a few staff. Lorena Luvian what a helpful lovely person. Ricky in Villa 27 always helping everyone and anyone even though you aren’t staying in his Villa. I’m so sorry I forgot the gentleman’s name but conceriege in Villa 25 helped out when I had a little incident happen. He was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast and lunch staff all are incredible. Shout out to Juan, Erik, Rudy, David, Oscar and our special guy Jesus. Carlos at the evening grille words cannot describe how professional and kind he is. He can teach everyone a thing or two. All staff at all restaurants cooks, chefs bartenders incredible. Our number one is Oscar now at Azia. We were sad to see him leave the grille but relieved he stayed on. Now last but not least Gabriella our beautiful wonderful concierge. Villa 26. Gabriella went out of her way everyday for all guests!!! Thank you RH we miss your already. Wonderful All Inclusive
Royal Hideaway is a beautiful property with lovely units, gardens and facilities. Most of the restaurants were delightful but we found the Mexican restaurant Spices to be a disappointment. I love Mexican food but found several of the dishes very salty (the salad) and unimaginative. Would love to see improvement. The location is perfect and an easy walk in to Playa del Carmen. Easy access to Tulum and other sites.
