Loved Antigua

This resort was pretty great for what we paid for except for the dining options. The buffet was the worst (in my opinion) of all the all inclusives I've been to. DEFINITELY get up early and book the restaurants (go to the desk at 830 and wait on the line to book for the next night). The restaurants weren't anything amazing either but a whole lot better than the buffet! Understandably, I do not book all inclusives for the food because obviously it is never going to be phenomenal but this one could definitely use some work. However, the beach was beautiful and the pools were peaceful (esp the quiet one we found). The staff was also great ! Rooms were on the small side but I didn't mind, AC worked fine and that's all I need. The excursions we did were great too, booked via the resort, the sting-ray swim, catamaran, and the pink panther (this one was good but a little long for my liking) Overall I liked it and would recommend to a friend.

Solo traverer to Antigua

This is my second time at this resort. The first time was about 7 years ago and the prices we're much less than they are now. I don't think its worth the price charged now. Everything is just average.. food, drinks, service. Rooms are nice and clean and I enjoyed the ocean view. Entertainment is lacking and the beach and social areas we're not very well maintained or cleaned. I do blame some messy/lazy guests for leaving such messes, but most resorts are on top of keeping things clean. The beach was small and close to the buffet dining area which was very loud. Made it hard to focus on the sound of the sea. Besides my ocean view, my favorite part of the resort was the ocean.. It was clean and perfect temperature for swimming or just floating. Overall, for the price, I can do better.

Pineapple Beach Club

I will start off saying the beach and water is beautiful, but it’s down hill from there. My room was a upgrade ocean view room up on the hill. but the room was old and out dated. The lights in the bathroom where sconces on the wall with the shades missing with fluorescent Spiral light bulbs. The bathtub had a dirty bathtub mat ( gross) and the tub paint was peeling off. The employees usually make or break a resort. Most of the employees didn’t seem happy to be there and very rarely smiled and the service was very slow. The restaurants were okay. You have to get on line each morning at 8:30 am to try to get a reservation at 2 of their restaurants, for the next day. Their high end restaurant “ Pineapple grill was a joke. The employees were very nice there but the food was on the same level of a chain restaurant. The Italian restaurant “ Chief Pietro “ was ok and the staff was very nice. The last restaurant is a buffet which is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The view over looking the beach was amazing. Some of the food was very good, but the majority was average. Another major issue I had was they would run out of pool towels every day. The pool walls had algae and they didn’t seem to be clean, so I didn’t use them. During the day you would have to bring your drink cups back up to the bar because nobody came around to pick them up. At the end of the day you might see someone walking around with two 5 gallon buckets picking up glasses and the next morning at breakfast you will see towels and glasses all over from the previous day. This is my 10th trip to a all-inclusive resort and I don’t usually write reviews, but this resort was such a disappointment, I wanted to share my experience. There’s also a lot of smokers at the resort.

Piece of paradise

This is a smaller scale resort that gives a laid back rustic vibe. The grounds are well kept and the stretch of beach is beautiful! The water is wavy, not flat calm, but not rough enough that you can’t swim. The pools are clean and refreshing. The resort has non motorized water sports right on the beach and you can snorkel off this beach as well. We had a beachfront room and it was spacious and clean. Some of the rooms are hillside and it is a hike! Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. It took us a couple days to figure out what hours different bars and restaurants were open. The snack bar closes down during dinner hours and then re-opens again for late night. The beach side bar and the pool bar close late afternoon and that only leaves the main bar open at night, however it was never so busy that we couldn’t get service quickly even during nightly entertainment. The restaurants were good and offered a wide variety of foods. The outhouse BBQ (lunch) is at the top of the hill, but you can’t beat the food and the views! By no means are you getting 5 star restaurant meals, but there’s usually something for everyone between the restaurants and the snack bar. My only complaints were that the water jugs at water stations were often empty and beach/pool towels were unavailable in the afternoon (so if you go on an excursion get your towels before you leave in the am). The island is beautiful- definitely go siteseeing!
