Good not great

We chose this resort for 2 reasons. One, it was 16 and older and second, it was voted the most laid back resort. The resort was very laid back. The ocean and beach were beautiful. We loved the floaty things out in the ocean and we never had trouble finding a float or seat on the beach. The pools were ok. The main pool wasn't very clean and had a lot of gross stuff floating at the top. The resort was kid free but the public beach right next door was full of screaming kids EVERY DAY! Annoying. A few disappointments. The workers at the snack shack were RUDE!! Like so so rude!!! Eye rolls, huffs and puffs and just plain rude. It made it uncomfortable to go and get a day time snack. The blue pool towels were hard to come by. We found them restocked the day before we left. The pools really do close at 6. That sucks. I did read that in the description but I thought it was a typo. It is not. You must make dinner reservations 24 hours in advance. Not any earlier. Just a pain. I would have liked to make all the reservations at one time for the entire week. The food was eh. Typical resort recycled food. The BBQ place was the best food we had all week. The Italian restaurant was disappointing. We brought our 2 daughters aged 22 and 17 to the resort and one ordered a seafood pizza and the other ordered a pepperoni pizza. The seafood pizza was great but the pepperoni pizza was a pizza from the snack shack!! If I wanted a pizza from the snack shack I would have gone there! The waitress even apologized! But did not offer to fix it. We felt rushed at the restaurant - like we were a burden. Our rooms were recently updated and were beautiful. Beds were comfortable and cool. Lastly, cheap caribbean has horrible customer service. We were there and trying to schedule our excursions, that we prepaid for through this website, and they had no record of our purchase. I reached out to cheap caribbean through phone and email and never got a response! I had to keep calling, 3 days in a row, to finally get someone to help us. That was awful and because of that Im not sure if I would book again. What if it was an emergency and we needed help right away!??? So anyway - the beach is fantastic, the rooms were great. The rest was meh. Would we go again? Probably, but we wouldn't use Cheap Caribbean again.

Loved Antigua

This resort was pretty great for what we paid for except for the dining options. The buffet was the worst (in my opinion) of all the all inclusives I've been to. DEFINITELY get up early and book the restaurants (go to the desk at 830 and wait on the line to book for the next night). The restaurants weren't anything amazing either but a whole lot better than the buffet! Understandably, I do not book all inclusives for the food because obviously it is never going to be phenomenal but this one could definitely use some work. However, the beach was beautiful and the pools were peaceful (esp the quiet one we found). The staff was also great ! Rooms were on the small side but I didn't mind, AC worked fine and that's all I need. The excursions we did were great too, booked via the resort, the sting-ray swim, catamaran, and the pink panther (this one was good but a little long for my liking) Overall I liked it and would recommend to a friend.

Solo traverer to Antigua

This is my second time at this resort. The first time was about 7 years ago and the prices we're much less than they are now. I don't think its worth the price charged now. Everything is just average.. food, drinks, service. Rooms are nice and clean and I enjoyed the ocean view. Entertainment is lacking and the beach and social areas we're not very well maintained or cleaned. I do blame some messy/lazy guests for leaving such messes, but most resorts are on top of keeping things clean. The beach was small and close to the buffet dining area which was very loud. Made it hard to focus on the sound of the sea. Besides my ocean view, my favorite part of the resort was the ocean.. It was clean and perfect temperature for swimming or just floating. Overall, for the price, I can do better.

Pineapple Beach Club

I will start off saying the beach and water is beautiful, but it’s down hill from there. My room was a upgrade ocean view room up on the hill. but the room was old and out dated. The lights in the bathroom where sconces on the wall with the shades missing with fluorescent Spiral light bulbs. The bathtub had a dirty bathtub mat ( gross) and the tub paint was peeling off. The employees usually make or break a resort. Most of the employees didn’t seem happy to be there and very rarely smiled and the service was very slow. The restaurants were okay. You have to get on line each morning at 8:30 am to try to get a reservation at 2 of their restaurants, for the next day. Their high end restaurant “ Pineapple grill was a joke. The employees were very nice there but the food was on the same level of a chain restaurant. The Italian restaurant “ Chief Pietro “ was ok and the staff was very nice. The last restaurant is a buffet which is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The view over looking the beach was amazing. Some of the food was very good, but the majority was average. Another major issue I had was they would run out of pool towels every day. The pool walls had algae and they didn’t seem to be clean, so I didn’t use them. During the day you would have to bring your drink cups back up to the bar because nobody came around to pick them up. At the end of the day you might see someone walking around with two 5 gallon buckets picking up glasses and the next morning at breakfast you will see towels and glasses all over from the previous day. This is my 10th trip to a all-inclusive resort and I don’t usually write reviews, but this resort was such a disappointment, I wanted to share my experience. There’s also a lot of smokers at the resort.
