Extremely laid back resort on a beautiful beach!

This was a very different kind of resort for us. We're used to those resorts that have activities every hour and music playing all day (depending on which pool you're at). Although this resort still had activities, the focus was really on just relaxing. It's a smaller resort which helped with the social interaction during the week. We in fact, became resort buddies with another couple and ended up doing excursions with them. It was a really great time. The resort is older and could use some updates to the rooms. But it didn't bother us the least. We had a place to shower and sleep at night and that was all that mattered. We were fortunate to get upgraded to a beach front room and I think it's one of the older sections. But again, there are really no complaints. The food there was pretty good. The best was The Outhouse. We had lunch there every day! You get a little exercise in by walking up the hill, and then you are rewarded with fantastic ribs and an amazing view. The weather couldn't have been better. I even enjoyed the rainstorms that occurred every day. They never lasted long and didn't stop anyone from continuing to enjoy the day. They do not offer beach service, which didn't bother me a bit since the bars were so close. Maritzka, Farika and Indiana were awesome bartenders. Ask Maritzka for her Dominican Republic drink! We had such a wonderful time here. We would love to visit again.

Great honeymoon experience!

We decided to go to Pineapple Beach Club for our honeymoon after reading dozens and dozens of positive reviews. Needless to say, we were impressed immediately upon our arrival. We were upgraded to the 2nd nicest room in the entire resort. We had our own living room, 2 balconies, an updated bathroom, and a beautiful view of the beach. We were also surprised with a bottle of champagne to start off our honeymoon. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. It is clean and well maintained. All of the dining areas were well kept and beautiful. There were plenty of little areas to relax and hang out in and just enjoy the peace. It was a calmer resort, so we were able to relax. However, there were different activities everyday that we really enjoyed. We played beer pong, did a mixology class, did karaoke, and enjoyed live music almost every night. The beach itself was never crowded. We were always able to get great seats where we wanted, at the beach or the pool. There were plenty of bar options to walk to to grab a drink while you relaxed. The security guards also stand watch to ensure no non resort guests (or their kids) come on the property. As for the food--the main dining room, Topaz, was our least favorite. It certainly got the job done and was not bad food. It was just typical resort food. However, the other restaurants were amazing! We loved the Pineapple Grill and the authentic Caribbean food we got there. Chef Pietro's had amazing fresh seafood pasta. You HAVE to visit the Outhouse for lunch and get some of the amazing spare ribs and jerk chicken. It has awesome views and a nice laid-back vibe. We enjoyed that the bars could mix up just about anything. The afternoon tea/coffee station with snacks was also a favorite each day for a little "pick me up" before dinner. The water sports were great. We were able to go hobie cat sailing almost every day without a wait. We also did snorkeling and kayaking. All of this is included in the price. Overall, the resort exceeded our expectations. It was clear that this is a resort that people visit year after year (as was evident by the staff knowing so many guests!). It is small, relaxed, and beautiful. If you want to do nothing but relax, enjoy the water, and eat and drink for a week...this is the place for you!

I chose this resort because there are no children. the room that I got was a little older but still comfortable. the dining was good. I did like the buffet better than the restaurants. the entertainment was fun. I also enjoyed the beach a lot.

Honey Moon in Paradise

When first arriving at this hotel, my husband and I were a little nervous. We are used to staying at larger resorts with several restaurants, and marble flooring. This hotel took us a little time to warm up to it, but after the first 24 hours we were extremely happy with the choice we made to stay on this resort. Pineapple beach resort is very small, quiet and has a lot of charm. The beach in absolutely breath taking, and has beautiful white sand, and turquoise water. The room we stayed in was a beach front, and it was absolutely lovely. Only complaint about the room was the water pressure-but if thats the only complaint I'd say they're doing a good job. The food on the resort is great. The pineapple grill, the Italian restaraunt, marys-out house, the snack bar, and even the buffet all had plenty of food with tons of options. The drinks on this resort were very good. They used liquor brands that I actually recognized from the states. Overall I would say this resort is a hidden gem. I will say the place is a little tired, and could use some updating, but when you travel to Antigua you visit for the beaches, and the sun not how the hotel room looks. I would recommend this place and would stay here again.
