Horrible service with mediocre food

Customer service was horrible! Had to request room cleaning every day even when we told cleaning service to and hung sign to. Had to leave our room after an all day excursion because they moved the clean me sign inside and shut the door. Had to call customer service to get maid in after even trying to request clean towels and was told we have them already and was hung up on. Were given one washcloth one hand towel and two towels for two people the whole trip even after multiple requests for more. Extra pillows are $25 per stay. Pool towels are given only with a towel card and if not returned are $35. Every day was new issues. When you asked staff to help with something that their website and literature given at check in said they did, you were told no they couldn’t because it wasn’t possible. Had to walk up and down a massive hill with all our scuba gear because hotel wouldn’t allow the company we used past the guard gate unless they paid them to drive in!!! Ridiculous!!! We are the guest and it was for our convenience so it should have been allowed. Dinner reservations can only be made between 8-12 at front desk for the next day or else you eat the mediocre buffet. The pool snack bar closes early every day and you aren’t allowed in if wearing a swim suit or if you “look wet”. So why have it by the pool???? Any excursions booked through hotel are three times as much as using company or travel agent and the excursions booked through hotel are canceled after you get to designated area, checkin, and wait for guides. Someone then radios down and you are told guide isn’t coming and it’s canceled. Pools close at dark and are guarded to prevent any evening use. Weird hours on all shops and restaurants (only 2 choices as it is) Horrible horrible place. Would NEVER recommend. Far too much money for an all inclusive with nothing but exclusions!!!!!!

Worst all inclusive

This was by far the worst all inclusive hotel I have stayed at. This is not on Cheap Caribbean but on the resort. The food was beyond awful. They have one small and I mean small buffet. The food there was barely edible and the options were limited to the same 5 things a night. They have 3 restaurants but here’s the catch, they only tell you about two of them. I tried to take food out of the buffet like I have in every other resort but got chased down by an employee. You’re not even allowed to get your own coffee. The room we received at first seemed nice but the second we sat at the edge of the bed, it broke. The legs snapped forward and we are not heavy people, not heavy enough to break a bed. When I complained to the hotel staff, they did not want to give us another room. They made us wait until someone was able to go up there and all they did was bend the legs back. Not safe for the guest, who only knows how many times it’s done this. The staff at this resort are not the most friendly. They walk past you and do not smile or say hello, some do but most do not. There is also NO entertainment here. No shows, nothing. I would not waste your money on this resort.

Pretty good choice

Overall, our experience was good. We first got put into building 2 and it was horrid but moved to building 1 and it was great. Service was great and the grounds are beautiful. The dining times are not all the time, and the pool closes at 7 pm, which is a huge bummer. Location is very central to everything and the food was good. Staff was very nice and worked with us when we wanted to change rooms.

Fabulous Time in Costa Rica

Worth getting the premium level. We truly enjoyed our time. This was our first time using Cheap Caribbean and we will continue from now on. This was also our first visit to Costa Rica. People complained about the stairs and there are a lot of them but we looked at it as cardio and I can see where it would be a problem for older guests or people not in physical shape. But the resort is beautiful and well manicured. We have stayed in bigger resorts but the smaller more laid back relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed. Room was smaller than other resorts but had everything we needed so no complaints. The a/c worked great!!!! The buffet had a variety of food and did different nights like French, Mexican, Costa Rican, etc. The Oriental and Italian restaurants were delicious. I can’t really talk negatively about the trip. All people have varying expectations and lifestyles and I always try to remember that when reading reviews. Don’t miss out on this resort based on negative reviews because it’s truly worth booking. Thanks to Omar, Alex, Davis and Martin for being so kind and personable! Roberto at the beach is a great person to book an excursion through. Room 806 has amazing views!!!
