Horrible Honeymoon Experience

First, they tried to cheat us out of the room that we paid for “because there wasn’t any of them available” so they said they upgraded us. Absolutely not an upgrade. My husband went to talk to them and they kept trying to argue and say they gave us an upgrade. He asked the price difference and what do you know, there was a room that we PAID for available. Also, we weren’t given any noticed that the whole place is under renovations. The restaurant is poor and very over priced. I would not recommend staying at this “resort”.

Recent Stay

Stayed at the resort the week of July 3rd. the resort is undergoing renovations, in particular the pool area. They are installing a pool bar. There is still one pool open and available. We stayed in a remodeled royal room. The room was comfortable, clean and everything was in working order. Housekeeping is minimal. We received clean towels every day and the bed was straightened but nothing else was touched. If you are looking for a comfortable room close to the beach ,( it is about a 5 min walk and they do have a shuttle every 1/2 hr) and you don't expect a lot of amenities, then it is a good bargain.

I miss it already

First of all I was so apprehensive booking from cheapcaribbean..com I thought that it was all too good to be true. I left Sunday June 18th 2017 and literally booked it the night before. I called and confirmed everything (because I am old school and wanted to talk to someone) everything was smooth. I checked the bus transportation icon at the end of the trip. The bus company is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are called DePalm Tours and it was So smooth. After customs you exit the doorway and there will be a DePalm worker standing outside. Look for a yellow shirt and a gold name tag. Show them your booking with Cheap Carribean and they give you tickets FOR THE RETURN TRIP. DO NOT LOSE THE TICKETS!!! 24hours before you are scheduled to leave go to the concierge at the hotel ( He is AWSOME) and hand the tickets over and he schedules your pickup. This was my first trip to the Caribbean so I had no idea what to expect. I could not afford any of the really nice places so I took a gamble. I have never felt so welcomed and so at home before. For me this is what is important. I am not a pretentious person, and didn't need to stay at a fancy fancy fancy place. I was just so frigging happy to get to go to aruba for cheap that it didn't matter. All I cared about was it being safe for my son. With that being said, this is the last stop on the DePalm bus ride in from the airport. So you get to see how nice all the other resorts look. So at first you are like ugh this is not fancy at all. But honestly it doesnot matter. The people are just so nice. The thrifty car rental worker, his name is MIcheal. Tell him Natasha sent you. He is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bartender, Ricardo makes the best drinks ever. Tell him Natasha sent you. There are iguanas at the resort. The rooms are nice. Fridge, microwave, stove. cold ac. nice warm shower. Again, if you are a millionaire and want to look at pretty furniture all day and be on the beach. This is not the place for you. people on a budget...college kids...down to earth people....this is the place. If you just want to get away and have a place that is safe and clean and fun and a small walk to the beach (there is a shuttle every 30 minutes from 9-5 that takes you to the beach) than this is a great deal. Make friends with the locals! They are so nice. SO NICE. Go rent a car and explore the island. YOU CAN NOT GET LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is beautiful GO to baby beach Go to the natural pool and jump off the cliff Just go and see aruba!! Honestly, I will not go to any other resort even if I had a lot of money to spend because it was just so comfortable and I felt at home.
