Loved It will do it again great bargan.

Super appearance when you enter, Staff greets you excellent. Rooms were clean and comfy lots of pillows and great views. All inclusive is a deal however if you want the treatment of royalty hand out TIPS to your maids, servers, and barkeeps it will get you even better treatment. It doesnt require you tip but you will notice the difference if you do . Plenty of things to do the beach and pools are fantastic. The Marketplace is just across the parking lot walking distance you can get Cuban cigars more Booze and all the souvenirs you want. They also have Movie nights its Great sometimes outdoors . 4 night stay was not enough going for 7 next time. Food is Great Pizza is Awesome. Big Variety to eat every day Plenty of excursions . Not all eateries were available due to Matthew Hurricane but repairs are underway.

Beautiful Getaway

We spent 5 Days / 4 Nights, and enjoyed just about every second that we were there. The private beach was immaculate and the ocean water was crystal clear (clear enough to see angel fish swimming right up to us). The infinity pool was clean, the perfect temperature, and an outstanding and unique view from our lounge chairs to see the ocean. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Amazing view from our ocean-view balcony. Food selection was good. However, the meat lovers pizza was the best!!! The one thing that was strange, and a bit inconvenient at times, was having to sign receipts for each and every item ordered. For an all-inclusive resort, it was a bit surprising. After a while, you get used to it. Only once or twice, we had to wait for our receipt to sign. Shout Out and Kudos to Pauline Leadon. She was the most amazing, polite, attentive and nicest server by the pool!!!

Disappointing

The Grand Lucayan at Lighthouse Pointe has seen better days (I wish we had been there ten years ago). It is the sister hotel of the grand dame there, the Grand Lucayan, which is now closed and looking "for a buyer" according to staff. It all is a massive property and once was a showcase. The pros: the staff and service are excellent. The food is avg (mostly buffet), lobby and pool area (lap pool, infinity, and hot tub) is beautiful, the spa is great, decent beach; room was spacious. Now for the cons: maintaining the property is not high on the list as my pics show(max of 2 allowed here); they put us in the back row, no harbor or beach view just a grassy area; our room door was off and did not close gently, had to lift it and really slam it; bottom lock on sliding patio doors was broken. It is tired and in decline; attention to detail is not paid as rust is common: light sconces are missing or out; our common courtyard area had light trash the whole time we were there. Due to the fact that some of the restaurants are part of Grand Lucyan, your dining choices are limited because some of the restaurants online they show are in effect, closed (Churchills, Havana Cay, Willys Broadleaf and 1 other-which is important on an all inclussive plan). You really only have a choice for dinner of 2 places (Portobellos & Capri), for bfast 2 places(Aroma cafe & Portobellos), for lunch 2 places(Waves & Portobellos)- out of the 8 days there we actually went out nearby to eat (La Parrilla Latina & Flying Fish) 2 nights. The tennis courts disappointed; they tout 4 different surface courts but they do not tell you that the grass and clay courts are not in use because of neglect. You need an appt to use-we made the appt and nobody was at office-thank God we had our own equip. and 2 asphalt courts were not locked. Cruise ship folks come in every day on buses. We have used Cheap Caribbean before with wonderful results but the "beachologist" we spoke with really did not know the property.

Nice quiet place

This resort was a nice getaway if your looking for no entertainment and very quiet. very limited food choices. Only 1 Pool and they still advertise the casino being open when in fact it has been shutdown from a storm , 2 years ago. Only 2 bars and only one at a time is open. All in all a good quiet place to soak up some sun and enjoy each other's company.

Weekly theme nights - Beach BBQ, Fish Fry and a Bahamian Buffet filled with local favorites.

The tennis center offers a variety of classes and drills you can take, plus you can play on four different surfaces, including grass - Wimbledon, anyone?
