Nov 29, 2025Enjoyable stay in unique environment
Just returned from 11 nights at Catalonia Royal and throughly enjoyed our trip. Read a lot of reviews before we went and whilst the variation was striking one consistent theme was the staff who are excellent. Special mention to Quetzabel and Angie in La Palapa buffet restaurant. Those ladies are amazing remembering everyone’s names (and I mean everyone’s) and always having a smile on their face. You do not want to lose these two ladies so I hope you are paying them well. Other highlights are the beach which is absolutely stunning and the jungle in which the accommodation is set which is teaming with wildlife. Quite a few reviews say that this is not a 5 star resort. My reply would be that it’s not priced as a 5 star so what do they expect. We found the food and drink to be of reasonable quality, the rooms large and comfortable and the staff to be hard working and friendly. The beach and jungle environment make this resort unique amongst the others we have visited in Mexico and we will certainly be returning.

The best resort in Mexico
We really love Catalonia Tulum! The resort is amazing, food is delicious and the stuff is great, we love Paulina, Diego, Abraham, Eddie and Gonzalo! They have great volleyball team, also we had so much fun singing karaoke and playing other games. We come every year and it's always so much fun!♥️

Spectacular beach
Great resort with fantastic staff and absolutely stunning beach!we love it .only slightly downside is that you can't dry clothes on balcony or nowhere for that matter. Room is humid ,because of the location-middle of the jungle. I would also prefer buffet dinner,not just once a week. Schedule your dinner every day and stick to it could be bit annoying. Overall we would return here.

Amazing place to stay!!
This place was amazing, not very big and just the way it should be. Everyone here is so welcoming. The food is delicious and the beach is amazing!!!

Another amazing stay
Our second time here. We upgraded to the Privilege and it was worth it for sure just because of the Beloved Restaurant. It is a great view, great staff and great food/drinks. The Steakhouse tenderloin was stellar (coming from an Albertan) and Pracilla made our second night there very fun. My only complaint is the shampoo doesn't lather or clean your hair and the towels are not soft. The king room is a standard room and was always clean and tidy. We are early to bed so did not participate in any nightlife but enjoyed the beach, we reserved our beach chairs first thing in the morning. I love the room being in the jungle atmosphere vs the beach to escape the sun when needed. We will be back regularly.
