We never expected to love a place as much as we fell in love with the blue diamond luxury resort

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. I’m currently a chef. I’ve worked as a server and bartender. I know what it takes to have a great staff - it is genuine the hardest part of the industry. This place has the best staff - hands down - I’ve ever experienced. Knowledgeable, kind, fun, friendly. They make sure your experience is a great one. From the moment we walked in (to the most beautiful lobby I’ve ever seen) they made sure we were comfortable, educated, and cared for. Thank you to Jenny, Eric, Erick, Eduardo, Arturo, and Georgina. You all, with the rest of the staff, have made our stay one we will never forget. Facilities: The facilities are stunning. They may be slightly dated, but they feel so in touch with the natural surroundings that even if it’s a little dated, it feels naturally beautiful. There is currently another resort being built next to this resort and even with some construction noise, the grounds and facilities, and the staff made it to where I almost felt like we were isolated in a remote part of the world by ourselves. As I said, the resort is a little bit older so there are some areas that have weathered a little bit from being so close to the ocean. The difference here is that the materials they used in construction are genuine metals and stone materials or concrete. What this means is that all of these materials weather naturally and overtime it feels like this place has just become more part of the environment that surrounds it. You don’t have weird plaster chipping off of thing. What you have is still a beautiful and pristine resort that feels like it’s one with its natural surroundings. Our room was comfortable, beautiful, clean, and we enjoyed the time we spent in there tremendously. We stayed in one of the Cenote rooms. Every morning we’d wake to luscious palms outside our window, swinging gently in the breeze and one morning we even saw a coati in the tree, eating coconuts. Food: The food at this resort is setting a high bar for any other resort we ever go to. In fact, I don’t know if we’ll ever be happy going to another resort because the food here was so good. Every dinner, we purchased a bottle of wine with Eric the Sommelier. He was passionate to provide an amazing experience each dinner and made sure to pair the correct bottle with what we were ordering. Play multiple servers during our breakfast and lunch and dinner. There are no buffets at this resort. Everything is à la carte and the food is phenomenal. I wish I could name each server that we had but Jenny really stood out as someone who was so kind, so knowledgeable, and so sweet. She made great recommendations and provided a wonderful time while we were there. During breakfast and lunch Eduardo was the man. He anticipated our needs and even in the short time we were there was able to learn our ordering habits and bring us something that we probably would’ve ordered anyway as a surprise gift. : Should you go here? Do not look anywhere else. Book this place now. Go now and experience the serenity, the quiet, the care, and perfection that this place is. My wife and I were celebrating 20 years here and we were planning on only coming to an all-inclusive resort every large anniversary like every 5 to 10 years. We both decided because of this place that we need to go back yearly. Not just because of the beach or the food, but because the staff is so excellent! We want to see them again and visit with them again like they are extended family.

    Romantic getaway

Diana was our guide for the cacao ceremony. I loved that she acknowledged that this wasn't a true ceremony, but more of a tasting please a true ceremony would involve an elder. It was enlightening to learn about the gods and why it was so sacred for them. The staff at Blue Diamond have been extremely friendly and very helpful. The food has been tasty and the drinks strong. There was also a surprise rose in our room one evening and it was so beautiful ❤️

    Cacao Ceremony

We did the Cacao ceremony with Diana and it was fantastic to learn about the significance off cacao to the ancient cultures of Latin America as well as try a traditionally prepared cacao drink.

    Perfect for rest

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and natural hotel. Seeing animals like coatis, raccoons, crocodiles and monkeys around was such a wonderful experience. The hotel feels small and private, but it’s spread out, so you need to walk a bit to reach the beach. Our room had a lovely natural view, even though it wasn’t close to the sea. It’s a very calm and quiet place, perfect for relaxing. If you’re looking for parties and loud music, this isn’t the place—but if you want peace, you’ll love it
