Great Honeymoon

We went here for 5 nights 6 days. We had a great time. We liked the layout of the resort, but it is very widespread and requires a tram to get around. The food was great in the restaurants, but they don't use reservations, so there was a wait. I'd prefer reservations so you knew when you were going to eat. The buffets were disappointing compared to other resorts I have been to. Not much variety and some stuff just didn't taste good. The snack place had the same stuff every day (I heard the late night service served different things). I wish they would have had more options. Service was great. People were quick to get you a drink and take away dirty cups and plates. The upgrades in the honeymoon suite were awesome. They really gave you alot of bang for your buck. One complaint we did have was with the photo place service wasn't that great. With our honeymoon package, we could get 3 free photos done. After trying to up sell us to a $100 package, the man said we could just stop by and they would take our pictures right there in the garden when we were ready. The night we stopped by, they said the photographer wasn't there. We said we had dinner reservations for our honeymoon lobster dinner. He said the photographer would be there in 30 min. We never did get the pictures done. They seemed very uninterested in giving us our free photos. Also, on the beach, you are constantly bombarded with sales people trying to get you to sign up for their excursions, Buy things, or take photos. It was very annoying. 50 times a day we would have to say "no thank you". The room was nice, but the bed wasn't the most comfy. Our in room safe box didn't work and they came immediately to help us with it.

Nice resort, something for everyone

Bavaro Beach is gorgeous. The CheapCaribbean reservation went exactly as planned. The bungalow room was quite comfortable. Cleaning services were prompt and responsive. The staff was very friendly and helpful. More friendly than other resorts visited. Some staff were excessively pushy about selling excursions. We probably would have booked one had they been less aggressive. The young people who ran the activities and performed in the shows were quite talented. There was a flooding incident, through no fault of the staff, after a torrential downpour which lasted for several hours. The resort promptly dealt with the flooding and even hired additional transportation services to transport guests through the excess water. They promptly cleaned the pool and had it up and running within 24 hours. The remainder of the time it was sunny and perfect beach weather. The only downside was that the quality of the food in the restaurants was terrible. We waited for at least 45 minutes at each restaurant to be seated when there were empty tables available. The buffets were quite good, especially the Chopin Buffet, no wait time.

Could go back tomorrow.

Bavaro Princess was beautiful, beach was amazing, wild life everywhere (there are birds, peacocks, ducks, flamingos, turtles, geese, rabbits and even saw a gecko on a tree) rooms are spacious and clean, drinks were flowing, and staff was friendly and courteous. Check in and check out was fast and simple and Gabriel (our representative) was informative, courteous, and gave us information on excursions… which we did not do. We booked one of the honeymoon suites – room 621. Rose petals and clean towels constantly provided. Received a bottle of rum and fruit as a welcome gift. The mini bar was not really a mini bar. A few bottles or soda and beer, one bottle of water, and the refrigerator was never cold. It did not really matter to us, as we were not in our room often. Spent most of our time at the beach and the smaller pool up by the lobby. The “party pool” did not interest us. Although there were many different age groups at the pool, we wanted more of the relaxation then the party. Those that were there appeared to have a very good time. The resort is HUGE…. we walked most of the time; with the amount of food and drink available, walking was more preferable. There is a trolley that rolls throughout the resort all day and night that we did jump on after the beach. Once you get your bearings, both are easy. We did breakfast off the main lobby and also on the beach...could not really eat lunch, but did get French fries one day, a lot of fruit and many many (did I say many?) cocktails at the beach and at the lobby bar at night. For dinner, we did the seafood, steakhouse and Italian restaurants, which were incredible (different but incredible) and then they offered two honeymoon dinners – one we did attend, which was NOT good at all. With that experience, we decided not to do the other, (at Chopin) and went Italian instead. We were so happy we did. The staff was amazing. From the first minute we arrived, to check out. House cleaners kept room clean, and we were waited on hand and foot by Domingo in both the beach area and the Italian Restaurant. Johanna was super sweet, and Carlos (sp?) at the beach bar knew what we wanted the minute we walked up (margarita, no triple sec!) Sexy Luis learned a new way to Blah Blah Blah at Bingo, and Montero and Davey at the Lobby Bar kept the drinks flowing into the wee hours. We were there last week (April 23 – 27) and we would go back again today if possible.

Could go back tomorrow. Could go back tomorrow.

really GOOD for the PRICE

The grounds of this resort are impeccable and the rooms are spacious, clean and more than adequate. Yes, there was the occasional bug but one must remember this is a tropical environment with open air restaurants and lobbies. The resort is huge but the shuttle was timely and they even have a battery powered shuttle that was quiet and smooth. The food was slightly above average for all inclusive. The Japanese restaurant was exceptional and the chef there...really put on a show and engaged everyone. This was by far our best meal and a super fun experience. The buffet offers lots of variety and the lunch restaurant by the beach was really good and offered fresh foods, a nice alternative to hamburgers. I found the Presidente beer to be great and even wished they would have stocked it in fridge and maybe given a few more so you could enjoy your private balcony rather than the bars. The beach is magnificent here! It is quite possibly the best I have seen, clean with some small wave action and NO rocks. The pools were also great but the small one up front of the resort was our preference. It had less obnoxious tweenies and party vibe. The staff was always friendly and eager to help in anyway. The WI-FI service was slow but when on vacation, I choose to steer clear of any technology anyway so this was NOT a real issue for me. The beach did have FAR too many vendors approaching guests, they are friendly enough but PUSHY. We did not have a problem telling them NO but I can see how guests could become annoyed. Overall....this wasn't my best AI experience but I would def return and sit on the glorious beach anytime.

What's to Love

Upscale amenities and 92 acres of eco-paradise combine with the Bavaro Princess' all-suite accommodations for the perfect secluded slice of paradise.

What We'd Change

The pools close at 6pm, which can be disappointing when the sun is still shining. Fortunately, 6pm is just about the perfect time to start enjoying the great nightlife.

Why You Should Go

Bavaro Beach is among the Caribbean's top beaches, and Punta Cana boasts great golf courses, zip-line adventures and a surf school; what are you waiting for?
