    Coral reefs are dead 💀

    So very sad to snorkel the coral reefs and realize it’s all dead. Food was horrible. Beach was beautiful. But to know what I know now about the coral reefs and what the human species has caused it breaks my heart

    An Opinion from a couple of well traveled Canadian seniors.

    Well ! My wife and I spent the last two weeks of Nov. at Barcelo adults only and found it to be a mostly good experience. I won't go into great detail and just share a little good and a little bad so you get an Idea of what to expect. First off the good. The beach can be an amazing walk for about 2 km to the right particularly at low tide. To the left not so much. The weed situation wasn't too bad except for a couple of days when the cleaning crew must have been on a break. Finding chairs around the pool wasn't a problem so we didn't have to get up at 6am to put towels out like we have had to at most other resorts. The people serving drinks around the pool were very friendly and came around regularly to top you up. The pool is well kept and has lots of room. In general the food on the adult side was pretty good including the buffet and à la carte options. We tried a few options at the palace side and were totally disappointed. Quality and atmosphere is not there. This is where the kids are. The not so good that stood out were the cleaning of the rooms, I saw spots behind the door in the bathroom that weren't touched for a week. Yuk. The bathrooms are in a very tired condition and are very small. If you have mobility issues be warned it is a high tub you have to step into for a shower. The service through out the resort is quite good, EXCEPT!!! for the lobby bar bartenders. They were terrible with their service and down right rude at times. They were bad at making drinks to. Anyway just a few tips for you to chew on. Would I go back, probably not but I wouldn't discourage others from giving it a try. Pretty good value.

    Great Golf Trip

    Another great trip. We come every year to golf at the resort with a large group. Special mention to the Preferred Club staff for organizing our rooms (Evelyn, Julio, Mabel). Also a big shout out to the staff at the golf course, for looking after us. Jose Gill, Hector, and the grounds keeper Michelle. also the all the staff at the Hoya 19 restaurant for looking after us for an early breakfast. Our room was spotless and clean all week and well supplied, thank you Jaierah from housekeeping. The buffet Maitre'd Maria, always had our table setup for lunch for our group and made sure we were promptly cared for.

    Golfing holiday

    Wonderful experience. Golfed for six days with a group of 24 golfers. Will be back on November 20 for 7 days for more golfing.
