    Couple vacation

    My husband and I enjoyed our 8 days at the Barceló Bavaro Beach Adults Only- nice, quiet, beautiful beach, good food and drinks. We liked that we could also join a bigger lauded hotel near by with its restaurants and entertainment but then go “home” to our nice and quiet hotel.

    Great relaxing vacation

    Hotel was great. Very clean. Excellent service. Best up to par. Good was excellent. No complaints. Everything you can imagine is available on the resort. If you're a Trekker it's a little more difficult

    BIRTHDAY TRIP

    While most the staff was friendly, this hotel was not for me because it was too relaxed. Lack of entertainment was very boring and rooms are very outdated

    our relaxing holiday

    We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach, adults only. The hotel ground are truly beautiful. The lush grounds, stunning palm trees and relaxing pool area. Everything felt like a tropical paradise. The service throughout our stay was great. Not all staff members speak English very well, but they are all warm, attentive, and eager to make our experience memorable. The premier level gave us access to the other restaurants in the Bavaro Palace. We tried most of these restaurants, and enjoyed the French restaurant and steak house. But we found ourselves returning to La Brisa, at the adults only hotel, almost every day for lunch, and twice for dinner. It quickly became our favourite. They do a buffet for lunch and a la carte for dinner. The food was consistently delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for both lunch and dinner. With a ocean view that is truly amazing. The team at La Brisa was incredibly friendly, and they made us feel right at home each time we visited. A special shout-out to Mercedes, who went above and beyond to take good care of us. Her kindness and attention to detail made our meals even more enjoyable. Even though we didn't take part in the daily activities, the entertainment team was always super friendly and full of positive energy. And the barmen at the pool bar were also wonderful, quick and ready with a smile. They serve the most delicious frozen Piña Colada! The rooms are a little on the older side, and the bathroom could use some improvements especially for a premium-level category. However, this didn't take away from having an amazing holiday overall. I read some comments about the problem with the seaweed on the beach, and wanted to add that the beach in front and along the hotel grounds is being cleaned every day, and it was never a problem for us to walk or swim. It always looked very clean and looked after. I would highly recommend.

    Definitely not a 4 star resort

    Pluses - the beach is beautiful, no rocks, plenty of space. The pool area was very nice. Minuses - maid service was very poor, refrigerator did not work at all and we had to complain for 3 days before it was replaced. You had to raise the flush handle of the toilet to get it to stop running. The toilet started leaking on the floor the morning of our final day, we reported it immediately and it was not fixed when we left the next day at noon. The ice maker on our floor never worked. The restaurants are supposed to open at 6:00 p.m. but it's more like 6:15. We never got a bath mat or washcloths for the bathroom, we practically had to beg for towels and toilet paper, and the room was not cleaned on one day. Would not recommend.
