From check in to departure, anything having to do with the front desk was a disaster. My reservations was for 2 double beds. I was put in a king room. Then offered a roll out bed....absolutely NOT!!!! Finally moved us to a double bed about 2 hours later; we were moved to a dungeon with a minimal view. The location of the room was extremely loud, to the point where the noise from the, I guess generators, keep us up all night! The following day we missed an excursion that we paid for in advance, because we had to switch rooms AGAIN!!! THEY DID NOT COMPENSATE US FOR OUR LOSS.... There is so much more to share, but every time I think about it. I become frustrated ALL over again! Do Not Waist Your Time Booking this Resort....complete disappointment!

Now Amber and Secrets

This was our first trip together to Mexico. It was a last minute decision to go somewhere and I googled last min vacations. Up popped and resorts in Puerto Vallarta. We live in LA so the flight was direct and only 2.5 hours. A very short cab ride and there we were, at this amazing Resort. We were greeted as we stepped out of the cab by a warm wet towel and glasses of Champagne. They tagged our bags to be delivered to our room later. We were escorted into the lobby by a greeter. Registration only took about 15 mins, which included a 500 dollar deposit for incidentals. Given our keys after we were asked to meet the next morning to talk about the Resort and headed up to our room. The first room they gave us was occupied. I found a naked man laying in the bed and a naked woman came around the corner about the same time. Guess we spoiled some ones Birthday surprise. The bellhop then retrieved another set of keys and when he opened up the door, wala, 500+ sq feet of amazing. Kind bed, tub, double sinks and huge shower with an incredible view of the Ocean and Mountains. This resort was all inclusive, with 24 hour room service, several restaurants, including a French restaurant that you had to make reservations. Our last night there, we did the Chef's tasting. Just my partner and I, in a very nice glass room in the middle of all the kitchens. We had our own Chef and Sommelier, who would introduce the wines that were paired with the courses. We had three bottles of wine during dinner and a bottle of Champagne with desert. Absolutely an amazing and memorable evening. Most of the food at the Resort was exceptional and there is plenty of things to do at the Resort along with plenty of excursions to keep most busy. The staff was incredible and friendly. We did not use Room Service until our last morning. Boy what a terrible mistake. The food was incredible and plenty to fill up even the biggest eater. So overall, the trip was incredible. The only part we did not enjoy, was our first morning when we met with representatives from the Resort to talk about it. It was supposed to be 90 min presentation. 5 hours later we bought into the lowest option we could and became members. It was a waste of 5 hours of our first day. But after buyers remorse, we plan on making the best of it. One last thing, we stayed on the Now side of the Resort. The other side is called Secrets, adults only. Plus they had the better food options. We were made VIP's because we became members and were able to use the Secrets side. Other wise, if you stay on the Now side, you are not able to use the Secrets side.

Relaxation Hotel

Pulling into the hotel we were amazed with the view and ground keeping. The hotel staff immediately greeted us and asked our names so they could locate our room to drop off our luggage. One gentleman walked us to the check in to give us our hotel keys etc. We were in the second tower in VIP so the staff walked us to the other tower. After check in at the other tower we retrieved our keys and welcome packet - they give each room a paper with the days activities, weather and such. They placed our names in the paper to welcome us along with others. You can tell they want to make sure you feel welcome and it is your home away from home. After we receiving the keys, guest services spoke to us about coupons, tours and sites to see etc. After getting off a long flight we really just wanted to go to our room. The staff didn't like to hear no as an answer as their job is to also make money, the staff let us know plenty of times they were on commission. We cut the conversation off and went to our room. The room had a great view overlooking the pool and a little peak of the ocean. Beautiful. In our room we requested a king bed and paid for a king bed but received doubles. The hotel leaves cute robes with slippers which aren't the most comfortable but works and is a kind gesture. We had a jacuzzi/bathtub outdoors which wasn't the cleaniest so we cleaned it ourselves as well as the bath in the bathroom. The room felt like a spa, very relaxing! Gorgeous and very simple decor. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and stiff. In the shower the vent was coming down and the tissue box ceramic glass was broken and they attempted to hide it by strategically placing it against the mirror. The bathroom was small but like that it was just the toilet and a door to have privacy. The room had a safe which was easy to use! Enough closet space and room to store clothing. The mini bar was stocked everyday and convienent. Refrigerator had cold drinks provided everyday which was a plus! The iron could have been better as well as the blow dryer. The iron left imprints and the blow dryer wouldn't get hot. We are certain if we told the front desk it would have been fixed but wasn't needed but the one time. The glass doors to the patio made the view even more gorgeous with the option to open the doors all the way to the end to make it feel like you were outdoors. The cool breeze into the room just made it feel like you were outdoors but relaxing in your room. When we left the room we were bombarded with the a few individuals from the staff on several occasions on not leaving the resort and going on those presentations. It was difficult to leave as one individual was speaking to us for 15 minutes not to leave the resort. The staff could be very pushy and annoying with how to get more money out of you for tours. We just wanted to relax. Great entertainment provided. Great for kids - was not loud at night and could not hear anything while in our room outdoors. Had delicious food at restaurants, long waits at one establishment. We had a food bar in our hotel which was beautifully displayed and delicious. Evenings were nice to sit out in the first tower lobby or even go across to the Secrets hotel to mingle - just steps away. We would go again to relax and can overlook some of the stuff we didn't like.

Excellent Service

What makes a difference here is the people, great service and friendly attitude. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed. Though they could not locate our reservation made through cheap Caribbean, they were very gracious and accommodated us until all issues were resolved the next day. The hotel is very clean, the room was very modern and clean. We stayed at the preferred Ocean view that has great view with Tub at the balcony. Great shower and separate tub too. The beds were very comfortable. The pools were great. The beach area is smaller compared to the other resorts I have been in but it is still ok. If you are looking for servers bringing you drinks by the beach, you may be a bit disappointed because no one came to us. . Be ready for hawkers at the beach. Just smile and say no if you are not interested and they will walk away. They are very friendly so you will have much fun if you keep your stuck up attitude here and enjoy the vacation with the people. For Entertainment, they have some shows at night There is a night club that you can attend but it will much fun if you go as a group. It is always with few pple dancing so don't expect the same as in the town. They have shows at night too. Servers at the breakfast were awesome. Brought us a cake that says " safe trip back home" that was really a moment that mattered on our last day. Not a big resort that has trams and trains but it is full of fun. Oh don't forget to visit the city. If possible get a cab and go into town your self. Visit the Guadalupe church and the flea market. The city tour that cost $65 including lunch is not worth it. The aforementioned two places are the only worthwhile places during the city tour. After these two places, you will be taken to a Silver store to buy jewelry if you would like to(very expensive) and then driven to some faraway village setting place just to have lunch( expensive too). Just a waste of my time. Food is average, drinks are ok. About 5 restaurants to choose from. In all a great place, great people and value for your money.
