Great stay and winter sun!
We stayed at Ocean Maya Royale between 12th and 26th November 2025 as regular customers, we didn’t upgrade to Privilege. Coming from Scotland, this was a great time to come for winter sun - 28-30° everyday, very little rain and some cloud coverage throughout the day but still great weather! The hotel itself was very clean, tidy and the grounds are extremely well maintained! The beach was so clean in comparison to the other resorts either side. We took a walk along the beach a couple of days in each direction and the contrast was very clear - Ocean Maya’s beach front was spotless, they have a very clear view out over the water as well, whereas the resorts either side had quite a lot of seaweed along their beaches and just didn’t feel as clean in general. Still a nice walk in each direction though and if you walk to the left, past Blue Bay, for around 15-20 minutes you’ll come to a little lagoon. It’s a nice little place and the water is extremely clear and has a little mangrove area. There are additional water sports available at the beach - jet skis, boats, kayaks, etc - which are all paid but the prices were pretty decent in our opinions. The hotel rooms were really nice and clean and very well maintained. We had no issues with our room at all. The only note I would make was that the water temperature could be a little cooler if there was other people in their rooms at the same time. Clearly just the water being used more frequently. But honestly, with the heat and humidity, it wasn’t actually that bad. The food at the hotel was really good for the most part. The a la carte restaurants were all great! Our favourite meals of the holiday were had at the Blue Moon restaurant - the short rib was unbelievable! Our favourite by a mile though was the Sushi restaurant! The teppanyaki was nice, but the actual sushi was so good! The beef tempura rolls were the best things we tasted the whole 2 weeks! I would also say, you need to be at the restaurant at 5:45 sharp to book your slot for the teppanyaki just to ensure you get a seating. With the time of year we were there we didn’t struggle to get a booking but I can imagine in high season it would be more in demand. The buffet restaurant was good and had a lot of choice, our only note as a downfall was the drinks service at the buffet. This was a bit slow. Some meals were absolutely fine, however, most meals we had at the buffet we were waiting a while for our drinks orders to be taken or for the drinks to come. Our suggestion would be to have a self serve drinks station with a soft drink dispenser, a beer tap and bottle of wine. This would alleviate the staff from feeling rushed to turn over tables and also have to get over to take drinks orders etc. The activities at the hotel were all really good but I would highly recommended booking as far in advance as you can as they seemed to fill up pretty quickly. We played beach volleyball a few days and that was really good fun. A lot of the night time activities weren’t as busy, I think k mainly because it was an older crowd that were there. We’re 29 & 32 but the majority of the guests were in the 40-60 age range, so with night time foam parties and white parties, it felt like the target demographic for these would be a bit younger. They were still good fun though. The only note I would have in general was that it would have been nice to have a more comfortable outdoor area to sit at night for a few drinks. The main area is all plastic chairs and tables which is fine, and you could sit in the lobby area on the couches etc, but it would have been really nice to have some outdoor couches/comfortable seating just for a nicer setting to relax. That’s us just being a little picky though. All in all, we had a great time at Ocean Maya and would definitely recommend it to anyone else looking for a beach front getaway in Mexico. It was a good mix of luxury and relaxation but not too snobby.

The best experience and vacation ever
Wow!!!!! Is the best way to describe Ocean Maya Royale. From the beautiful scenery to the awesome food to the energetic entertainment team. The entertainment team is worth the trip alone!!!!! I will have to say Viri was so helpful, so fun and enjoyable, and she made it a point to remember our names and came to speak with us every day and invite us to the next event. Suzy was amazing, she was so fun and inviting and a beautiful dancer. Words can't describe the energy and awesomeness that Kendell brought to the resort!!! He is the entertainment staff manager and does a wonderful job, i would come to the resort just for him and his staff they are so awesome
