Would never return to that hotel again!!

From the moment i walked in and check in, I disliked the hotel. My room wasn't ready for another hr. The room I ended up getting had ants by the window, no towels, the suppose to be stocked mini fridge was empty ( which didn't get stocked until the day before I left), everytime I walked out of my room someone tried to sell me a time share. The specialized restaurants only had reservationa for 915 no matter what time u call. The buffet food was ok. The mixed drinks were as expected for an all inclusive. The building was old and out dated. The pool for adults is small the kids pool is just a big boring boat in the middle with stairs in it and 2 slides. The staff appeared to lazy but friendly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone..

Awesome place to bring children. Pool with slides, children activities galore. Need reservation for dinner unless you want the buffet

Middle of the road.

First off the good: all of the people working at the resort are friendly as could be. They will do anything you ask and are grateful to be working. People we came across that were great included: Adan, Hector, Ninfa, Ofelia, and Jose. They did an exception job. The all-inclusive price was an awesome deal that included flight, food, drinks, and your stay. The food at the dinner restaurants were great for the most part and they looked really classy. We booked the restaurants on the Golden Crown adult resort with no problem and they were fantastic. Try this if you are here for couples. It was out honeymoon and got a free honeymoon upgrade to a suite. The so-so: summer is definitely not the time Americans travel to Puerta Villarta. It was crammed with tourist Mexicans the entire time. I feel like at sometimes these customers were rude to us and also at times staff would tend to those clients with better quality than we Americans received. The club Nitro was alright but border non-kid friendly. The amount of shade in the pool is a killer and the only covered part is the adults hot tub (which security constantly kept shooing out kids). Food at the buffet were okay at best and was mostly cold. The omelette were the best items from there we had. Also the lunch tacos. The bad: this resort is getting older and is visible is the rooms we stayed in. There was a stench of old stell water in our room the entire trip. I believe from the air conditioner. Multiple times on our trip the water shutoff mid shower. We wished the pools at night stayed open a little later. I am sure this is done for safety but couldn't the adults only part handle this? For 1 day both elevators were out of order in our building and it was a pain with us being on the 4th floor. Overall a good, cheap option for vacation. Next time we will come not in the summer.

Not for kids

We stayed at the hotel in the beginning of July 2016. There were 8 of us - 4 adults and 4 kids. The hotel was OK overall, the staff was polite, proficient and ready to help. However we were unpleasantly surprised to see several things which in our opinion are inappropriate for a “kids friendly” hotel: * Smoking. People smoke everywhere - on the beach and in the rooms (balconies) and the hotel seems to encourage this practice by having a tobacco shop on premises. Some times we could not use A/C in our room because it would fill in the room with tobacco smell due to someone smoking outside. Once we came to reception and asked if they could do something about the smell. They offered us to spray the room so that tobacco smell is not that noticeable (!?). * Mold. The first room that we got had backish mold on the ceiling and an A/C would produce a strong moldish smell. We did not use the A/C the first night and had to change the room. * Plastic on the beach. Hotel guests would often leave plastic utensils and straws by their chaise lounges and they would get scattered around by wind and birds. Also the waves would occasionally wash some plastic debris ashore. Hotel staff rarely removed such trash from the beach and our kids (under 1 year old and 1 year old) would pick this trash and try to eat it while playing in the sand. And this in a hotel which is advertised as “kids paradise”?? We would recommend to stay away from this hotel and consider other ones first.
