Hurricane Melissa Jamaica Travel Policy Update 

We know how much our travelers have been looking forward to visiting Jamaica, and we appreciate your continued patience as the island recovers from Hurricane Melissa.

To give you added flexibility and peace of mind, we are waiving post Hurricane travel penalties for travel to Jamaica through December 15, 2025*

  • No penalties for cancellations: Cancel your Jamaica vacation up to 72 hours before your scheduled departure and receive the full value of your trip—including airfare, hotel, transfers, excursions, and Travel Protection Plus (TPP)—as a travel credit.  
  • TPP cash-back option: If you purchased the TPP cash-back option or a hotel-only vacation, you’ll receive a full refund instead of travel credit.
  • Already canceled? If you previously canceled travel between November 15 and December 15, 2025, we’re reviewing those bookings. Any eligible additional credit will be automatically applied—no need to contact us. Please allow up to 30 days for processing. 
  • Rebooking to a new destination: You may rebook to any destination. For the fastest service, please contact us at (800) 915-2322 once you’ve chosen your new vacation plans. 

*Exceptions 

  • Some airlines may charge penalties that are not covered under this policy. Please continue to monitor airline websites for the latest airline policy details. 
  • Couples Resorts require cancellations at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival to qualify for waived penalties. 
  • This policy applies to individual vacation packages. Contracted group bookings are handled separately, and impacted travelers will be contacted directly. 

Airline & Hotels

We continue to monitor recovery progress and partner closely with our hotel and airline partners. 

  • Airlines: Most major carriers—including American Airlines®, Delta Air Lines®, Frontier Airlines®, JetBlue®, and United Airlines®—have extended their travel credit policies through December 15, 2025. Please continue to monitor airline websites for the latest airline policy details. 
  • Hotels: Several hotel brands are adjusting reopening timelines. We continue to monitor recovery progress and partner closely with our hotel partners.

Hazardous Materials Restrictions

The FAA has issued "Hazardous Materials Restrictions" effective as of Jan. 1, 2015 - Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years' imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. 5124). Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. Examples: Paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles carried in your luggage and certain smoking materials carried on your person. In the event a carry-on bag cannot be accommodated in the passenger cabin and has to be placed below in a cargo bin for any reason, any electronic device or spare Lithium-ion or any other type of battery permitted in carry-on baggage MUST be removed from the carry-on bag and remain in the possession of the passenger in the passenger cabin.
