  Quiet relaxing stay

  My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Zoëtry Casa Del Mar! The location was perfect and we were able to see whales from our room and around the resort every day! It is a small and quiet resort, which was perfect for us. We were also able to get a taxi into San Jose del Cabo easily. It was a perfect place to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

  Whale watching!

  This resort is very relaxing, enjoyed our time here and especially sighting whales out front. There are 2 restaurants and a bar. We enjoyed the wine night in lobby and pizza ovens. Arturo at front desk was very helpful.

  Beautiful Resort

  We had a wonderful vacation at Zoetry Casa del Mar. The property is beautiful and the service is outstanding. Jose at the pool, and Marco and Karim with entertainment really stood out as people that helped make our holiday good. We hope to be back someday soon!

  Want to give it a 5, but...

  Okay, full disclosure. We are UVC (Unlimited Vacation Club) members, so some of our experience is colored by our membership and the advantages/disadvantages of UVC. UVC was acquired by Hyatt, but that has not changed the overall approach to upselling on memberships. POSITIVES This property is in a wonderful location, closer to San Jose del Cabo and the airport, than Cabo San Lucas. The setting is quite beautiful and the grounds are well maintained with interesting plantings. A large arroyo divides the property in half. The beach is lovely, quiet, but NOT swimmable. We saw whales going by almost every day, sometimes more than once a day. There are cabana beds available to UVC members for free, but the angle of the sun pretty much made them hard to use for us pale skinned Northerners. There are also loungers on the beach, with umbrellas, but there should be more of them. There is service on the beach, though not as much as at the pools. There are two main pools and then a number of other pools scattered throughout the property, but only the main pools are heated. The food and selection is good to great, but not excellent. The staff are, for the most part, really friendly and helpful. Sunsets are gorgeous. NEGATIVES The odd thing about this place is that it is mixed with condos and VRBOs, so even though this is pitched as a small resort, it feels bigger, as there are more people using the facilities than just the hotel guests, so you are competing with them for loungers, etc. It also means that you could end up in a room across the arroyo from the main pools and restaurants, but it gets you some exercise after your all-inclusive meals and drinks! The rooms are dated, in fact, this resort will be closing down for renovation and the addition of more rooms and common areas in the arroyo, which is a shame, as this is one the nice features of the property. The facility is understaffed, which is a problem everywhere these days. It sometimes seems as if there are a lot of people working, but not very efficiently. And lastly, the UVC attempts at upselling on our existing membership are highly annoying. You get taken off site and processed by person after person, all of whom are very nice, but the pressure is ridiculous. Always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
