What We Love
- The resort sits on a gorgeous stretch of beach. Since the waves are calm, it's an easy area to swim in.
Things to Know
- The resort is a fantastic home base for exploring the natural wonders of Puerto Rico, like the nearby El Yunque tropical rainforest and Fajardo's bioluminescent bay.
The Ocean Course, designed by Tom and George Fazio, is sheer panorama. Aptly named for its spectacular ocean views, this course features multiple bunkers, elevated greens and four sets of tees. A favorite among guests, mostly for the iguanas and the signature 16th hole.
While the Fazios took a liking to the trade winds, Greg Norman's first-ever Caribbean design, the River Course, is 6,945 yards of rolling green along the Mamayes River. Norman took care to preserve the native foliage of this challenging course, embraced by mountain vistas and seashores, and to allow the natural terrain to determine the placement of all holes. Rumor has it that every hole is a signature hole here.
Non-golfers aren't forgotten, thanks to one mile of gorgeous beach with lots of fun activities, two stunning pools, one for adults and one for families and a 20,000-sq. ft. sun deck. And if your putter fails you, perhaps Lady Luck is waiting to smile on you at the casino. Or maybe a session at the spa will help you unwind over that last drive?
As nighttime approaches, stash the clubs and return to the resort to observe the legendary bioluminescent bay of nearby Fajardo, where microorganisms create a mysterious blue-green light that illuminates the calm waters. After a dinner of sushi and Thai
delights at Shimas Sushi Bar, retreat to 400-sq. ft., Ocean View Room. Snuggle into the king-sized bed to dream of the birdies or a hole in one!

Honest review is the beach is one of the best. Its private and quiet. On surf advisory days which occurs in most pr beaches some days (undertow and riptide) i can walk down to the left after exiting the hotel onto the beach where there is a shallow area. Breakfast buffet has fresh items like made to order eggs and waffles. Its a solid buffet. The staff at the hotel is the best ive experienced. It is 30 min away from the metro area but there are things to do locally at the kioskos and most of the attractions are in the area of this hotel so of u stayed in san juan u would be driving out to this hotel area everyday anyway for; Snorkling Bio bay El yunque Boating Fishing Scuba Etc The only reason to go to san juan is for dance clubs although there are a few of those near this hotel but they are not as trendy as san juan clubs. Great hotel.
Middle of nowhere, if you like that
I have seen glowing reviews lately and I do not doubt that some may have has a great time and even find this the best place you have experienced.... but, come on.... so many wonderful reviews lately? Really? That great? Here is my honest review: The breakfast buffet is not amazing. The beach is not the best in the area, on the contrary, it has a dangerous undertow. The restaurants are mediocre at best. You are trapped in a resort in the middle of nowhere with little to do that does not cost an arm and a leg, and you need a car (hello... not an expensive jeep rental). The employees are super nice and management really tires to please. The east area is really beautiful and worth visiting. But let's be fair, the hotel itself is average at best and the resort has seen much better times..
Excellent hotel with great service
Traveled with 4 families, each with multiple children ages 4-15. Rooms are relatively spacious for hotel, so each family only needed a single room. Bedding and bathrooms always kept very clean. Beach is truly lovely, although swimming in ocean somewhat hazardous for children due to strong waves (in January, at least). Breakfast buffet especially is amazing, but all restaurants on property are excellent. Strongly recommend hotel due to dedicated and friendly staff (also patient with children), especially Omar (best breakfast buffet server ever), and Marisol at the front desk.
Amazing Breakfast Buffet!
I absolutely love staying at this hotel. So glad I chose this property as my main Vacation Club home. The staff is always amazing. Front desk agents are courteous and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast buffet is amazing, and the waiter Juan Diaz was great and attended me for my entire stay. He made my mornings memorable. Thank you Juan and the rest of the staff for the amazing service.
We had such a great time. There are several restaurants onsite and even though resort prices, the food was really good everywhere. First great experience with Edgar at five o’clock bar. Not our server, but welcomed us asked our plans for our stay and kept checking on us. Every morning we were greeted at breakfast by Omar with buenos Dias good morning how are you. Really excellent service and the property is very clean and pretty. Gotta say, PR is a great place to visit and people are so friendly. Will definitely try to get back!!
