🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We had an amazing stay at the Marriott Beach Resort in Maui, and Frank, one of the managers, made it truly unforgettable. He went above and beyond to help us celebrate my wife’s birthday and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. His warm hospitality and personal touch are exactly why I stay loyal to Marriott. Thank you, Frank, for making our trip so special! —Brian Yelder Marriott Bonvoy Member

Above and beyond
I want to give a shoutout to Aki at the front desk. She made us feel so special and welcome. We were on our babymoon and she was excited for us, asked such thoughtful and sweet questions and was so excited for us. We are grateful that we chose this hotel and had such a good experience, starting with Aki at check in.

Not worth the points or the money
We are platinum elite and saved for two years to get enough points for a 5 night stay. I researched for a year and looked a room pictures and reviews and ultimately decided this would be good use for our 350k plus points. Big mistake! This property is in dire need of a hard renovation. The pictures are nothing like the real thing. I used 5 elite upgrade certificates for premium oceanview and the room we got was in tower 2 and was in a corner hallway next to elevator and service area. It was so echoey. The bathroom is maybe 4x5 ft. There was no separate bathroom area for me to change. It was dark, dingy and tattered. I spent the next three hours working with the front desk to secure another room. I felt completely scammed. How can this hotel charge 1k or more for these rooms? You can go to FS for a couple hundred more. Finally, I worked with a manager who was able to secure a ground level unit with lanai that faced the ocean. I would recommend only booking a room like this because everything else is pretty disappointing. However, it goes for 1800k. I saw a total of 4 rooms in my search for something that could accommodate us. I admit that I have stayed at some nice hotels in my life and didn’t expect perfection, but there needs to be a full scale renovation planned otherwise reviews will continue to decline. The pros- staff seem to be trying and generally nice people. The slide is definitely good for kids. However that pool looks quite dirty by midday. Chairs are packed in close together. The location on wailea beach walk is amazing and connects you to many other hotels for restaurants. They will shuttle you to other hotels and local restaurants. Just ask bellman. While I was able to finally find a room that worked for us, I did notice the doors are falling apart and building is in rough condition. The shower is very small. Anyone over 6ft tall would have a tough time. It is also poorly designed so that water constantly comes out onto floor. We used beach towels to clean-up after each shower. I was tempted to not post a review since I used points but I decided to for that poor soul who decides to spend 1k or more on a room. They need to know what to expect and make an informed decision. Posting pictures of doors in room, and umbrellas at pool on tripadvisor. You tell me if this is a well-maintained property. I would not stay here again, even on points. I would use the points somewhere with a better product which might be hard given the decline of the Marriott brand overall.

Nice Resort but Jewelry Stolen
Stayed: May 28-June 3 2025. It started with check in. We were told that the room that I reserved was not available. That they had over sold the room. This is a resort; staying for 7 days, 6 nights. How? My boys had to sleep on a sofa bed for the entire stay instead of a bed. Then the day before check out, I checked to confirm that I will get a late check. Front desk confirmed. On day of check out I received a call at ~ 1:30 pm to say that I will not get a 4 pm late check out and to please pack up and leave. I was floored! I reminded the manager that while I see that they are ensuring that the room is available for the people coming after me that we did not receive the same grace/urgency to ensure our room was available. Plus, 2 1/1 hours would not make that big of a difference and that we were headed to eat lunch prior to leaving. The manager, Frank, then called back to say we can stay till 4 pm. We returned to get out and l left my jewerly....Right....situation gets worse and worse. Due to time differences and jet lag, I didn't notice that it was missing till 3 days later. So when I reached out to the manager, Frank, he checked and said nothing had been turned in to security. I called security myself, and they confirmed that they had not received anything. The issue was escalated up and they asked for proof and I sent them pictures of my jewelry (hence I wore them on the trip). Marriott refused to pay my claim stating it was not in the lock and therefore claim denied. I said, but I was packing up, so it was taken out of the lock to get packed but it was a no go. As a loyal Marriott member and card user, I was extremely disappointed that they would not reimburse me. I had never put in a claim before. I say all this to say, I would not trust any jewelry there so please lock your stuff and put it up before you leave (don't have your valuable stolen, like I did). OR better yet, don't bring anything of value to the resort. This is not ever happened to me before, however this was definitely a lessoned learned. My jewelry was a Na Hoku slipper my husband brought me on our honeymoon 20 years ago, an angel wing my husband brought me when my dad died and a turtle (my favorite animal) my friend brought me for my birthday this year. Huh....I am still upset about it and Marriot's lack of empathy to fulfill my claim despite them interrupting my vacation with their bullcrap room issues. Otherwise, nice resort, good location, food good, waterslide great for kids and ocean great for snorkeling! Just beware of your jewelry!

Loved it here
Family of 6 with two, two queen garden view (Hale 4, one room had a partial ocean view, the other had an extended balcony) rooms for 5 nights each. Everything and everyone was perfect, the resort was beautiful, relaxing, and clean. Never a problem getting chairs for any of the pools, but do get to the tent early to reserve your chairs at the beach, you’re allowed two per room, 15 total per day. Kudos to Vantu at the front desk, I couldn’t have asked for a better check in experience.
