What We Love
- This is an Ocean Front All- Inclusive Resort, with over a mile of expansive white sand beach. An assortment of unique land and sea excursions are available: Explore Catalina and Saona Island.
Things to Know
- With an amazing location, amenities and furnishings, the resort is seriously one of the best places to spend your next getaway in La Romana.
Your all-inclusive stay includes more than a free trapeze lesson with a professional instructor. There are Caribbean dance classes, yoga and meditation sessions and a disco. International theme parties and dinners bring Italy and France to you; you might even get a taste of Carnival. If you still have energy to burn despite the nonstop beach games and live music, you can hit the gym with a trainer, and chill out in the sauna.
At this resort, though, the best place to see and be seen is the coral-stone grotto. It's the perfect place to lounge the day away, gazing out at the ocean... or maybe at the sexy European vacationers strolling around! With the resort's three freshwater pools, the chances for Speedo sightings are high. When it's time for an afternoon nap, stretch out on one of the outdoor Bali beds while the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep.
You'll need to rest up before your scuba lesson. The resort offers a variety of diving packages, from beginner level to advanced. The hotel's PADI-certified instructors are happy to show newbies the ropes. Experienced divers will salivate over the chance to explore the 240-ft shipwreck right in front of Dominicus Beach.
To stay fueled for the fun, make reservations at Viva Mexico, where old-school Mexican dishes are served up with modern flair. If you've got the late night munchies, the wood-burning stove at La Pizzeria is glowing all night long, so grab a slice before you hit the sack. When the night is done, retreat to your oceanfront bungalow or recently renovated hotel room. Crash in your comfy bed to recharge your batteries for tomorrow.

Great Vacation Spot-Poor Timing
Beautiful Resort, beach areas, sunsets and excellent snorkeling. Unfortunately our stay was during escalation of Covid-19 pandemic. Management and staff addressed and dealt with situation as best as possible (considering all the unknowns) I tip my hat to the Staff that put on a smile and brave face to patrons, knowing or unknowing employment status and their futures. Language issues a bit of a problem at times, but usually found someone to assist in English. Bartenders as usual are Friendly and Entertaining, Shout out to Randy @ Bar La Placita and our "Family" @ Bar La Papya. Their customer service was outstanding!
Had a spectacular time at this resort! - The room we stayed in was not super extravagant but the A/C and plumbing worked and for the time spent indoors, it didn’t need to be. - The maid service was always on point, even left us extra water bottles each day. - The food was almost always delicious, from the buffets to the a-la-carts. Everyone was super friendly and very accommodation of our limited Spanish vocabulary. - Beaches were freshly raked every morning and super clean. - Grounds crews always seemed busy keeping up the appearance. - Plenty of activities available to try if you wish (kayaking, volleyball, paddle boards, zoomba, aqua aerobics, etc...) Far more impressive, though, was the animación team and they’re hospitality. Big thanks to Chloe, Jovanny, Angelo, Bayron, Carlos and any I may have missed. These folks entertained us with their personalities and antics, sat with us on their down time and hung out with us instead of winding down after their shifts. They work incredibly hard and always put their guests’ experiences first. Can’t speak too highly about a few of their superiors (rude and dismissive) but thankfully, we didn’t have much interaction with them. Highly recommend this resort if your goal is to have a relaxing vacation that offers entertainment, tasty dishes, friendly staff and a lot of vitamin D.
Very good shows and fun animation team nathanael , Alana, Chloe! I’m very sad Alana won’t be in the shows anymore. Always something to do. Beautiful beach with many chairs to lay on. The food is good and available all the time, restaurants are very clean
It was a beautiful place, friendly staff, and the beach was the cleanest bluest ocean I have ever seen! Restaurants were yummy!!! Night life was exciting. Excursion recruiters could have been a little more informative but maybe we didn’t ask the right questions!! A+++
A nice and pleasant Xmas week
I stayed at the Wyndham Palace during the Xmas week, first time in Republica Dominicana. First positive note is the STAFF: I could have never thanked Carmen and Maribel enough for the amazing coffee (coffee is important for me!) they used to make for me every day. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, from the reception to the restaurant up to the room service. Rooms could be improved (a bit old but I think it depends on the block) but the best part was the view: it had a sea view, amazing! The hotel complex is majestic, long, on a great beach, right next to the Viva Beach (this is actually good as you walk a lot every day without even noticing). The Viva Beach is where the party happens all the time while The Palace is much quieter (I personally preferred the Palace). In both hotels you can find anything you might need, it is good to not have to worry about nothing when you’re on holiday! NEGATIVE note is the FOOD: I have been in other All Inclusive resorts and quality can definitely be improved. I understand it is not easy to keep high quality levels when you have thousands of guests but you should be able to maintain an acceptable level, especially during Xmas and New Years when rates increase much. What caught my attention though is realizing there are guests going back every Xmas and New Years for more than ten years in a row, meaning that despite the food and some other flaws, turns out it is a pretty good deal in the end. And I must say that I would go back (the atmosphere is very warm and familiar, you feel like home) but NOT during Xmas time, when I think it gets too overpriced.
