Best vacation
My stay at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace was thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel boasts a stunning location right on the beach, with crystal-clear waters and soft sand. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortably furnished, making it easy to feel at home. The staff is especially friendly and attentive, always going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The hotel offers a variety of activities and entertainment programs, providing fun while still allowing for relaxation. The restaurants serve a good selection of fresh and varied dishes, catering to all tastes, and the bars are perfect for enjoying a refreshing drink. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel for couples, families, or groups who appreciate sun, sand, and excellent service.

VIVA Wyndham Palace Punta Cana....HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT GO IS YOU DONT SPEAK SPANISH
Where do I start. 99% of the staff at the resort DO NOT speak English, even basic English. Our room number 5123 had no WIFI. TV was not working. We came so late and were very hungry. Upon asking, we were told by we can go to the 24 hour pizzeria. No one even offered to bring it to our room. There were only three soft drink bottles in the fridge. We were told that there was no refill available for those bottles. Also for water, there was a 500 ml water bottle provided to us. IF we needed more water, we had to leave our room multiple times to fill it up at the water filter stations. Next day we requested that WIFI in our room be fixed. The lady at reception said in broken English that there was no WIFI in the rooms. We would have to come to the lobby for WIFI access. After speaking to someone at the resort we found out that was not TRUE. At that point my son pointed out that the roof in our bathroom was leaking. the reception sent someone to fix the roof. As per the person it was now fixed. We went to the beach and came back in the evening, only to find the roof was leaking again. At this point, we asked for the room to be changed as we could not live in a room with leaking roof. Reception said they will give us another room at 10 am the next day. Next day when we went to the reception at 1030 am and receptionist said he cannot do anything until 4pm as there were no rooms available. We got really angry at that time. It was frustrating because staff did not speak English and we could clearly see that they were making fun of us in Spanish. At that point, my husband said that he will camp in the lobby if we are not moved into another room right away. That was when the receptionist told us that another room will be made available in 20 minutes. We were then moved to another room 5321. Here we had WIFI, even though it was patchy. We did notice in this room that there were blankets. Which we did not get in the first room, where we only got a white sheet. FOOD: this resort has a lot of food options available but only caters to Hispanic and European guests. Everything has ham in it. I feel that in this day and age, resorts should try and cater to diverse populations. At least have some continental food available. Most of the food available did not have labels on it. You did not know what you were eating. If you asked the chefs or the serving staff, they had not clue what we were asking. We used Google translate multiple times to find out what we were eating. There were next to none chicken options available. We also noted that things leftover for dinner were served for breakfast AND LUNCH next day at the pizzeria. Fruits were STALE. bananas were extremely ripe and skin was almost black. We also noted flies all over the food at the buffets. We also noted that none of the swimming pools and beaches had lifeguards. There were life guard chairs but we NEVER noted anyone sitting on it. TO SUM IT UP, only come to this resort if you speak SPANISH and enjoy otherwise you will have lots of trouble even with basin communication.

Family Holiday
We have just returned from Viva Dominicus Palace and I can safely day not to take the other reviews too seriously. Room We stayed in a Superior Double room as a family of 4. It had 2 very comfy queen size beds, a flat screen smart tv, plenty of storage and perfectly adequate bathroom with a big walk in shower. The room was very clean and had everything we need. The beds were made every day and things were tidied and the floor swept etc. The toilet roll was very thin but not a problem as it was replaced daily. There were a couple of times when very small ants made their way into the room but only because our children had dropped crisp crumbs on the floor, had this not of happe ed the ants wouldn't have shown up! All in all, very happy with the room, and very good air conditioning! Food The buffet restaurant was great for breakfast, however we felt it wasn't the best for lunch or dinner. This wasn't a problem however as for lunch we utilised the snack bars both at the palace and beach hotels (beach was better and more variety) and for dinner we ate at 6 a la cartes free of charge as these were included in our 10 night stay. The best was Bambu (oriental style) and the worst we felt was the Mexican (no atmosphere). We also ate at the Atlantis, Fusion Latino, Ill Palco and the Dominican restaurant. The food at these was very nice and worth it. The midnight pizza was a bonus and we used this several times. Drinks Probably the worst for an all inclusive that we have tasted for the wine and beer however there is always something to taste that takes your fancy for the cocktails and spirits. Ask for wine out the bottle in the buffet and a la cartes and they will give it to you! Much nicer! Entertainment The evening shows we're really good. We watched 3 or 4 in the theatre at the beach hotel. The beach hotel also has a dj every night by the pool and this is really good funeral and great music! There is a live singers at the beach hotel every night too - again very good! The palace hotel had live singers on most nights in the lobby bar and pool bar which were a bit quieter, something for everyone! Kids Club Our girls aged 6 and 8 loved the kids club. There is a swimming pool with slides in there, they take them to make pizza, go on the trapeze etc and the staff are really great, especially Samantha! The beach areas at both hotels are stunning. There is no sea weed that we could see. The sun beds to get full quite quickly but we always found some somewhere at either hotel. The Palace hotel as a whole was good value for money. We would give this 5 star review if the drinks were of better standard, however we would return again. Dont be fooled by the other reviews. None of our party got any sort of illness and we felt the cleanliness was a good standard. The most of the staff speak bits of English and communication was never a problem in general. This is not a 5 star hotel so dont expect 5 star standards. Its a solid 4 star and we enjoyed our stay. Top Tips!! Take some straws, they dont have these on offer. Take a thermo flask as the staff will put drinks in these for you, saves using the little plastic ones and will save you time queuing!
