Wonderful experience at Azteca.
We traveled as a family 29th September to azteca! We were given a warm welcome with fresh drinks from waiting staff! The bus boys immediately took our cases from the bus which was super helpful. We were travelling with a small child (5) who has autism, he was very overwhelmed and this was his first hotel stay! I informed reception about his needs and showed them his sunflower lanyard which they photocopied to provide to other staff members to make them aware. Everywhere was beautifully clean! The staff never stop working day or night from cleaning floors outside and inside to collecting leaves from the flower beds etc every tiny detail is taken care of! The atmosphere is lovely and calm everyone is welcoming no matter what time of day if staff pass you they smile and greet you! For two entire days my son felt unable to leave the room due to his autism and feeling overwhelmed house keeping couldn’t access until late in the day, no one made an issue with this I left the sign on the door to not be disturbed and once I did manage to get out for a tiny period of time the room was spotless on our return! New towels and a tidy room each day was very nice and relaxing! We had to speak to guest service as my son was unable to access the busy food areas they contacted the buffet manager and had discussions giving us access to take food back to the room for him whenever we wanted she again informed all staff of our room number and who we were so we didn’t have to repeat ourselves each time. From a SEN parents point of view even in the “quieter” ( not school holidays) time it’s a busy hotel the pool and day to day entertainment was busy and noisy buzzing with everyone’s enjoyment as it should be! But if your child or as an adult you find this hard to cope with please be aware this does happen. The beach is outstandingly beautiful there was still some seaweed but again staff did their best to dispose of this early in the day with a tractor going back and forth along the beach! Be aware you will be bothered by people selling items, massages, hair braiding etc as you are on the beach loungers! This was quite overwhelming at times and made us prefer to spend our time next to the pool just for some actual quiet time. Watching the animals and wildlife around the hotel was truly lovely! A cat with her kittens, beautiful birds, Kodimundi, lizards etc always felt special to see it all! One huge negative was being contacted a couple of days after arrival to “collect our welcome packs for our rooms” we were directed to the hotel concierge for this who was lovely, but quite pushy when suggesting we take a paid for taxi to visit the sister hotel which you get access to as part of your all inclusive wristbands anyways ( approx 10 mins walk) we did this not realising the only reason the taxi was included there and back was the hotels trying to sell us the black band membership! We were taken into an office and given a seriously long presentation ( with an autistic child in tow who can’t cope with waiting) while we were present with drinks and people giving figures and telling us we had only moments to make a decision about if we wanted to pay a significant sum of money to join their premium club! We felt very pressured and uncomfortable! Leonardo was the man doing this with us he seemed so kind and lovely even offering to go to the shops and bring our son food as he was struggling so much with the unfamiliar foodstuffs and as a parent he just wanted to help us however the vibe significantly changed when we made a no decision not to sign up to the package due to our son not coping and us probably not being able to access a hotel again until he is much older. Please please don’t fall for this it was an awful way to spend nearly 3 hours of one of our days and there is such a significant language barrier it’s hard to really understand what’s going on! Despite the above experience I can not fault azteca as a hotel its self from start to finish we felt cared for, appreciated and respected! Everyone’s kindness really helped the holiday run as smoothly as it could, the restaurants are beautiful the entertainment is great and again everyone from cleaners to gardeners to reception staff work endlessly. Thank you for making our holiday wonderful you should all be very proud of the fantastic establishment you are part of. 5 stars all across the board.

Good visit to Viva Azteca overall
We had a lovely experience at Viva Azteca overall. The food was OK but not enough imagination for children’s choices. We felt the shows should be slightly earlier so the children can enjoy them too. The pool area and the hotel was very clean with lots of cleaners going about constantly. Very friendly staff in the hotel. The animation team had two members of staff who stood out, Dayreth and Ixel, they always made an effort to make us feel welcome. A few of the other members of the animation team needed to liven up a bit and never looked very happy. Overall the holiday was lovely. The weather was perfect too, one day of rain and the rest was beautiful sunshine.
