    BEWARE PREDATORS WORK ON SITE

I've stayed at over 20 different resorts in Mexico and I've never felt the need to leave a review until today... and this is why... I travelled with my wife and 3 young kids all 6 & under. I'm going to skip the nit picky stuff that people with too much time complain about and just get in to the unacceptable. Midway through our stay we had a man who works for the hotel follow my wife & kids up to our room after a pool day just before getting ready for dinner. I was already in the room and had showered and was helping get my kids ready and my wife jumped in the shower. There was a quick knock at the door and if you can imagine I had my hands tied wrangling 3 kids together. TMI.... all I am wearing at this time is boxers and my kids are a mix of completely naked to wearing swimwear. This employee decided it was appropriate to use his master key to open our door and step inside! I immediately shouted at him to get out of our room, he stood and didn't leave immediately staring at my kids the image in my mind repulses me to this day. I stopped what I was doing and went over to the man and I'll admit I was not overly calm about it. I started with asking how he thought it was acceptable to just barge into someone room and he told me he was allowed to do it. Before saying anything else I told him to wait, closed the door and said I would be right back. I should also mention we have been on site using the resort amenities, ate breakfast that day charged to the room, and also had lunch at the pool and charged it to the room, why am I adding this???? because I understand if someone in a room is missing for a period of time they may want to do an emergency suite check.... this is NOT the case... and I still have the receipts as proof. So I took my kids into the bedroom and quickly told my wife what happened and asked her to help with this kids while I figure out what's going on. I grabbed my phone off the table and started recording and went back to the door. The man was still there and I first asked him to repeat to me that what he said they they are allowed to enter occupied suites without any purpose. He saw that I was now recording him and ALL OF A SUDDEN backtracked and didn't want to answer the same question. I asked him to identify himself and he now hesitantly told me he is the LOBBY MANAGER and told me that he came because there was a poolside bill that we didn't pay. This does't make any sense at all for so many reasons, we charge everything to the room, we had lunch/snacks at the pool every day before this without issue, using 1 waiter the entire day and signing for the bill before leaving along with a nice cash tip on top of the auto 15% service fee the resort adds. Again I kept the receipts because of this situation. I told him he was mistaken and he was telling me that I needed to pay them for it to which I declined and closed the door. If he had walked in on my wife and my kids weren't there I would be in Mexican prison. I have the whole interaction recorded. No one at the resort was any help likely because they were trying to cover up what happened. To top it off that bill was added to my room charges at checkout anyways and there's no one available to help dispute it in the morning as we are needing to head to the airport so I just ended up paying it anyways... I'm supposed to make a fuss over a small poolside bill with 6 items on it that I know nothing about but it felt like it was principle at that point. That one bill was not signed but I guess that doesn't mean anything to them. I'm not really sure what else to do with this information but it was the most off putting thing to happen at a resort in my life. Also don't bother with their ultra aggressive membership just to feel "special". They will try to sell you an Elite membership for $80,000 or a small membership that barely gets you a studio for a week for $16,000 and you still need to pay maintenance fees that go up, every year for 50 yrs. Look around online and you will find LOTS of people trying to give their membership away for free just to get rid of the annual fees. Disgusting company.
