Same resort but different
Great resort as always but I’m salty new bill changes weren’t communicated. I’ve been a member for 19 years. We jump around the locations and it’s our second time in Cancun. We don’t do all-inclusive. They asked for a $600 USD deposit for “incidentals” at check-in. No problem. We had dinner, lunch/drinks at pool (shoutout to Raul!) , spa all “charged to the room”. We go to La Casona for my husbands birthday dinner, have a wonderful meal and we’re told after the “we don’t have enough credit on our account to pay the bill”. Huh? After learning what this means, that $600 “deposit” has already been deducted to pay the charges we’ve already incurred and we have $0 “credit”. Instead of charging to your room and paying at check-out, we are front loading and paying the charges real time. No mention of this new way of pay as you go vs pay at the end. The bill is going to be paid regardless but this change happened in April per the manager and it wasn’t communicated when we checked-in. So heads up to anyone who didn’t know about this either! Either carry your wallet and pay each check with cash and card or ensure your account is front loaded and pre-covers your charges!

Zama - sunrise and feast to good food
this place is a gem and offers very customized vegetarian and vegan options. the ambience was lovely, the food was nourishing and flavorful. Miguel helped our large party (of 16 people). I asked him what is the meaning of Zama and he shared that it means spectacular morning sunrise in Mayan. you can tell he knows his work and culture.

Wonderful vacation for the family!
We just got back from Villa del Palmar, and it was honestly one of our best trips yet. With two other families along—five adults and three kids—everything was super easy from check-in to check-out. Staff everywhere were really friendly and helpful, whether we needed something from the room or were just hanging by the pool. Rooms looked exactly like the photos: really clean, comfortable, and the views made every morning awesome. Food hit the spot every time, and we always got quick, friendly service—especially from pool attendants Edgar Chan and Luis, and the breakfast team. We also celebrated my wife’s 40th and our daughter’s 6th birthday, and everyone made the experience special for us. Huge thanks to all the staff who went above and beyond. We’re already talking about a return trip. If you want a fun, family-friendly place with standout service, this is it. A huge and heartfelt shoutout to: -Edgar Chan & Luis – Pool attendants who went above and beyond to make our pool days relaxing and fun -Karla, Guen & Moni – the Concierge team who were incredibly helpful and kind -Eduardo Promotor & Alfonso Cahun – Breakfast servers who started our days with great service and smiles -Neiba – Our room attendant who kept everything spotless and welcoming
