Absolutely incredible! Best. Resort. Experience. Ever.

If you are reading reviews to decide where to go for your all-inclusive vacation, look no further. This is the place! The three adults in our group have separately gone to quite a few all-inclusive resorts and we are all in agreement - this was by far the most fabulous experience. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. We were greeted by hotel staff opening the door of our van with cold cloths, offering sparkling wine, and guiding us to the check-in counter. During check-in we were offered a free room upgrade (thank you, Andrea!) and our wine was topped off. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, which we had communicated to the hotel in advance - maybe that impacted our experience, but we're not sure. After arriving in our fabulous king suite, Emmanuel came to check the mini-bar, asked if we would like more of anything, and offered to bring us some fresh fruit. Shortly thereafter, Emmanuel and his supervisor (I apologize for blanking on his name) returned with a plate of fresh fruit, a bottle of sparkling wine in a wine chiller, and a plate of chocolate-covered, daisy decorated strawberries. They were all smiles and very kind. We were thrilled! The beverages and snacks in the room, which were part of the all-inclusive plan, were replenished daily. That amazing treatment and level of service continued throughout our four-night stay. Each day brought a new unexpected kindness (wine! decorations! fruit! liqueur!). Every interaction with the front desk, concierge staff, housekeeping, room service personnel, restaurant staff, and beach waiters was warm and responsive. Any employee we interacted with or passed by would put a hand to their heart and either nod or say “Pleasure.” It truly felt like a fantasy. The housekeeping staff kept the suite immaculate, and Abigail from housekeeping astonished us by leaving special decorations (see photo). On days we had excursions planned we ordered room service for breakfast, which arrived on time with large portions, everything we requested, and lovely presentation. We had breakfast at the Caprichos buffet twice: there was a huge variety of yummy foods, and our waiter Adrian was awesome. On our second visit he remembered us, brought us our preferred beverages, and gave us a very special fruit plate. I am writing separate reviews for the restaurants, but all of the dinner options are excellent: Zama (Sandra was exceptional!); La Casona (extra special shout-out to Mauricio, who treated us like celebrities and on our second visit remembered us, our salad and beverage preferences, and the event we were celebrating); and Davino (Edson provided a spectacular fire show, and the four different desserts he brought to share were the best of our stay). The Bite Bar for lunch was good, and also delivers to the beach, which felt very decadent. Excellent service is the hallmark of this resort. Kudos to every one of the wonderful staff who made this visit so exquisite! Honestly, this trip was the best any of us can recall. Here are a few tips if you are fortunate enough to travel to Villa Del Palmar on the all-inclusive plan: • If you are celebrating a special event, reach out to the hotel in advance to let them know, and mention it at every restaurant. They do “special” extremely well! • After check-in, a concierge may talk with you. If you do not want to attend a presentation about timeshare/membership, just be very clear about that. For us, the offer started with “We can give you… if you…” and we pleasantly let them know that we were already aware of the offer, had very little free time, and were not interested. There was no further mention of it during our stay. • If you are counting on the “queen beds” to be the size of American queen beds, call ahead and check on the actual size. We got the impression, on check in, that the “queen beds” might be the size of double beds in the USA, but we are unsure. • We booked our excursions in advance, after reading reviews, instead of booking through the hotel, and were pleased with the experience. • Book your dinner reservations in advance, especially if you are travelling during the busy season. We received an email from a pre-arrival concierge that contained information for booking dinner reservations, but if you do not receive one you can call the hotel and ask to speak with a concierge. They spoke English well and were very helpful. We were visiting during a slower season, so we had no problem making a last-minute dinner reservation. If you get an opportunity to experience the Villa Del Palmar all-inclusive stay, I hope your stay is every bit as magical as ours was. Enjoy!

Great place, no nightlife or shows

We had an amazing time at Villa Del Palmar despite a couple of people at the front desk. Orlando can kick rocks, and Edgar tried his best, but that front desk is a mess and they really should get on the same page. Orlando had the personality of a brick and just did not care as to what was going on. I could go without speaking with him again. The resort, however, was awesome. We traveled with a group of 20+ and I can imagine that we were not the most popular group on the resort but the staff was amazing. The pool was great and the service at it from the restaurant and bar was perfect. Reservations for dinner are a pain in the rear, but as long as you follow the 45 day thing, we had no issue. The restaurants are awesome and a real shout out to Amer and his crew at Legends for seating a rowdy group of 25 for a celebratory dinner. They went above and beyond to make it memorable. The gem of the restaurants was breakfast at Caprichos. Oscar Gamboa and Eduardo Promotor took the cake. We were there for 7 days and our kids (7 & 3) knew them by name and said hello to them every morning before had to go. They went out of their way to get us our "usual" drinks and always had a suggestion for something new for the kids. They made us feel welcome and they always had a genuine smile on. They really started every day for My wife, the kids, and I on a positive note and the kids actually asked about them our first day back. Overall we had a great time. Our only complaints were the front desk and that everything dies after 10PM. The shows were really non existent and half the week we were watching some jazz performers at Garza Blanca. Its definitely family oriented and thankfully mine were done by 10, but there was NOTHING to do around the resort after that time. If its just pool, beach (cant blame the place for weather and seaweed, and food/drink, then this place is awesome. If you are looking to entertain some older children or are looking for shows at all, vaya con Dios.

    First class experience!

This is a fantastic resort with first class service, restaurants and amenities. After we checked in, we had a small issue with our room. Octavio, at the front desk, supported by Carlos, front desk supervisor, went above and beyond our expectations. We got a gorgeous room with superior ocean views. Overall, the staff was fantastic and the food delicious. It was a great opportunity to have access to the restaurants at the Garza, next door, for dinner at there famous Hiroshi, Japanese restaurant and the Bocado steak house. Also, Boris, the master scuba diver took great care of us as we went diving in clear, warm gorgeous waters! This was a great time of the year to go and we were treated like familia. I highly recommend Villa Del Palmar Group!

Great Family Resort with Excellent Service

The Villa del Palmar in Cancun was such a great stay! The rooms are really comfortable, the beach is swimmable, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. Like most resorts, they do offer timeshare presentations. If you’re not great at saying no, you might get pulled in by the promise of big discounts on excursions. Since we booked through Costco, I decided to do one of the 90-minute presentations and honestly thought it was worth it for the discount. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite that had a washer and dryer, which was super convenient, and I loved having the whirlpool hot tub. The spa was incredible, and the food was pretty decent. We didn’t do the all-inclusive package, but that wasn’t a problem—you’re close enough to walk to Domino’s, and DoorDash delivers from plenty of local Mexican restaurants. The pools were clean, though not all of them were heated. Service across the resort was outstanding—everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I stayed for a week and would definitely go back. I’ve also visited another Villa Group resort and, based on how consistently awesome and authentic their service has been, I’m excited to try even more of their properties.
