  Highly recommend!

  We had a fantastic time at Villa del Palmar. We stayed for a week (family of four adults). I initially booked two studios, as that was all that was available. When we checked in, we were able to be upgraded, but we had to move rooms part way through. It was fine. We had a two bedroom suite for the first part and a one-bedroom and studio (beside each other) for the second half. We over looked the pool for all the rooms. Alvaro Sierra, at the front desk, helped us throughout. Since we were here for just a week, we went with the AI. It made our stay so much easier, as it's nice not having to worry about the price for food and drinks. Our daughter has a gluten allergy (not celiac so able to have slight cross contamination). The staff have been very accommodating. From making hash browns fried in olive oil with bacon for breakfast, to having gluten free pasta and pizza for dinner, along with the fajitas, she's been able to enjoy all of her meals. I feel it would have been harder for us if we had to navigate this with restaurants off the resort. And they even remember her. Our waiter from the night before mentioned that the dessert we ordered was gluten free when she joined us for dessert. Very impressive. Special shout outs to our omelette maker Ignacio, our breakfast waiters and staff Hugo, Etelvina, Erik and Celestino. It was a fantastic way to start our day. For dinner we had captain Ricardo, hostess Jashia and waiters Emiliano, Emilse, Antonio, Paty and Monica taking care of us. And if you do the Italian buffet I recommend getting the made to order pasta. It was so good! There's enough activities going on to keep you entertained throughout the day. The aqua-arobics with Diana is a great workout. Makes you feel less guilty about spending the day lounging around. I would recommend bringing cards or small games to play on your deck in the evening while you enjoy the karaoke or other nightly entertainment. I highly recommend attending the Mexican fiesta night. It's a fantastic buffet and great entertainment organized by Charley. The mariachi band was great and the dancing was fantastic. They also bring in local artists to sell their crafts. It's a good opportunity to buy without having to leave the resort. The ocean was too rough to go swimming (red flags every day) but we enjoyed lovely walks on the beach and we even saw a crocodile by the river. There is a large mall a short walk as well, where you can grab souvenirs. If you go, make sure to check out the turtle pond. We can't say enough about the staff. I would say the staff here are en par with staff at a Disney property. Everyone is very friendly and work hard to make your vacation enjoyable and relaxing. We would stay here again!

  Yashinoki Restaurant

  Amazing food and service. The staff were accommodating and outgoing making our experience that much better. Everyone on the team recognized us each night and went out of their way to make our evening fantastic. The food was incredible!! Ate way too much. Ramen, sushi, rock shrimp and more.

  Thoroughly enjoyable

  Everything at the buffet breakfast was great, especially Hugo, Erdiverto Celestino, Etelvina, Cesar, Carlos, Daniel, Juneuth, the hostesses and the omelet chef. They were all very friendly and eager to serve
