Beware of promises and sales presentations - read the fine print carefully
Last year, we stayed in Cabo San Lucas for the first time. We stayed with the Villa Group's Villa la Estancia. It was a wonderful experience, so we decided to buy a membership with the group. When we tried to rebook at that resort, we were told we could only get into Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa. We weren't sure if it would be as nice as the previous resort, but we went with it. As soon as we got there, we realized we had made a mistake. The pools are so noisy and busy that you can barely move most of the day. People come out and claim seats before the sun is up, and even though it's against the rules, no one enforces that. So, unless you're an early bird, you might not get a decent seat at the pool for most of the day. In addition, our suite was nice, but on a low floor with a marginal view. Nothing like we experienced our first year there! We asked for a better room several times, but to no avail. When we declined to go through another presentation this year, since we were happy with the plan we had and figured we'd be more careful when we booked our next trip there, we were pretty much ignored for the rest of the week. Incidentally, when we declined the new presentation, the attitude of the woman we were with changed very quickly from a smile to a look of disgust. We used one item in the honor bar in our suite before we realized they were not welcome gifts, as the sign would lead you to believe. The charge for that was about $25 US. I think it was for a candy bar. On the bright side, the regular staff were wonderful to us. They work very hard and do their best with what they have to work with. Of course, probably all of the issues we encountered were addressed when we bought last year, but being the trusting people we are, we believed the sales pitch and didn't read the fine print carefully. Cabo San Lucas, its people, and Los Cabos in general are absolutely wonderful. We will return often, but just not to this resort.

Wonderful
We loved our trip! Room was nice, pools were clean; Kids pools were amazing and fun for the toddlers to play in. Juan Carlos took wonderful care of us during our time at the pool. Shows and dinner Buffet was good as always. Being longtime members I wish they didn’t have to have pool towels checked out. Other properties in the group have done away with it. People still reserve chairs with towels in the morning but the pool attendants are on it if people are gone too long they will open it up for another person. Breakfast buffet at Bella California is nice, need more staff to help move people thru quicker.

Week long trip tied to a time-share promotion and preview.
The Villa del Palmar was the 1st of the 3 Villa group properties to be build, and it is definitely the oldest and most worn. We did the all-inclusive on a promotional offer, and I would say that overall the trip was great, and the rooms and property where okay. The service is really what made the difference, as their staff is awesome. If we were to go back to Cabo, we would be looking at staying at their other two properties, as they are both definitely much nicer. Location is perfect, relative to proximity to downtown and many different activities. Their beach, while swimmable, was very steep, and tough to walk on. The nightly shows are good, and had a higher level of talent than I was expecting. I would say that the food overall was good, but not great. Overall, pleased with our stay, but again, would go to the other 2 Villa Group resorts next time we go.

Great trip for family with young child
Travelled to Villa del Palmar at the beginning of February with husband and two year old daughter and had a great stay! We did all inclusive for the entire stay. The food was great with lots of options. We were worried about having milk for our daughter and thought we’d have to buy it from Walmart and store it in the fridge in the room but we were happy to learn that we could order milk from any bar or restaurant with no issue. The kids pool was the highlight for us and perfect for our daughter. She had a blast sharing toys and playing with the other kids in the pool while we could do a little relaxing. Our poolside waitress Nayeli was Amazing!! She remembered everything about us after our first day by the pool. She was so kind to our daughter and to us. Every staff member at the resort was sweet to our child and accommodating to a family with a young child. The entertainment was also great. Would 10/10 recommend and would return.

Many memories here love adding new ones every year.
I have met some of the most amazing hard-working, beautiful people. Shout out to Angelica and Angie Karen in the sports bar along with many others. The staff is always so helpful always with a smile. I love it here. We all look forward to coming back year after year.
