  Another great vacation at El Cid Ventus in Puerto Morelos

  Another great vacation at El Cid Ventus. Weather was perfect allowing kayaking and spending time in the pool. There was enough wind to go out on the sailboat with Julio. Butlers Sebastian and Ricardo were very attentive to all our needs. Food was excellent and meseros were very friendly and gave excellent Service especially Ernesto end Marco at breakfasts. Looking forward to our next visit in June.

  Great pool, upgraded rooms and service. Don’t come for the beach.

  This was our second time staying at this property (obviously our first experience was great because we came back!). Both times we upgraded to the platinum package. The room upgrade was worth the money in our opinion. King size bed for parents, Queen Murphy for one kid and cot for the second. Two full bathrooms. Big balcony off both rooms with gorgeous view. Platinum included butler service. RICARDO and FREDDY were amazing. Checked in twice daily and willing to help with anything and everything. Always made sure we had a stocked fridge, some snacks, arranged transportation to à la cartes and a taxi into town one day. Last year we had better luck booking à la cartes (as a group of 14 we ate together somewhere different every night). This year was harder to find seating times and we were only a group of 8. We feel paying for the upgrade should ensure an à la carte every night. The resort felt busier this year, but I believe more are travelling to Mexico instead of the US, just our opining (we are Canadians). The service was great, the lunch spot is unbelievable and we love the infinity pool. This resort does not have a nice beach, but we’re happy being at the pool. Would recommend this hotel, but personally love the bigger rooms you get with an upgrade.

  Member’s honest review of El Cid

  As a premium plus member, we stayed at Ventus. We stated to our member service representative that we were there to relax so we were not pressured to listen to the presentation and their updates. We were given two outstanding butlers, Fedy and Ricardo. They booked our dinner reservations, hydrotherapy and texted me whenever they were on their shift to ask me if we needed anything such as drinks for the room, more towels and if we wanted a different scent to be sprayed in the room in the evening. They always responded whenever I texted them. Housekeeping came twice, in the morning to clean the room and in the evening to turn down the bed with chocolates on our pillow. We felt that they cleaned the room thoroughly. Staff greetings in this resorts I feel are special. This is the only resort that I see the staff put their hand over their heart and gives a bow of greeting. They had a new pickleball court that was near the French restaurant. There was three courts and we did not have a hard time getting a court to play in. I still wished they had a tennis court like they used to. The pools were cleaned regularly and the beach though not as blue as other resorts was also cleaned constantly from seaweeds. They had kayaks and sailboats available but the sailboats were operated by the staff. So you are just a passenger. The specialty dinner places did not have a lot of selections and did lack vegetarian options since all their vegetarian options were the same in all the restaurant. The quality of the food is still good but not as good as it used to be for dinner. Dolores is still a very good lunch place with a good variety of options. The cafe shop still gives excellent choices of coffee and a variety of desserts. The evening activities while we were had the tree lighting and Mexican taco night. It was worth going to. They had different shows and band nightly, however, I feel that these are more for mature audience. They did have family shows in the lawn near the Italian restaurant. The VIP lounge had a variety of top shelves drinks. The staff there are very helpful. I would recommend this place to family and friends . I only gave a 4 star since the food was not as good as it used to be and I feel that they should have more activities available.

  Great experience/ butler service

  We love coming here few times a year- with the family or just couples vacation. Gonzo and Cali were great! Their attention to details and friendliness is unmatched! They work great as a team and alone . Always on point and punctual! Aroma therapy was done every night for us , pick up and drop off to dinner was always on time!

  Beware of sales pitch

  Beware of the sales pitch to buy a membership. They entice you with a free &75 certificate towards a purchase to listen to presentation. The 90 minutes as advertised turned into six hours and lost an entire day of vacation. Caution! It is a bait and switch. What is promised at the beginning is not what it ends with. Total scam. Interest rate is 19% with mandatory monthly payments and annual maintenance fees. Very bad experience.
