Feb 12, 2026Very Nice All-Inclusive Beach Resort
Definitely worth upgrading to an ocean front room, otherwise it's a long trek to the beach. Please be forewarned that it is very easy to lock yourself onto your guest room balcony because the sliding glass doors automatically lock when you close them. Solution is to remember to leave the door open a bit whenever you go out onto your balcony. We never had an issue getting a seat for breakfast or lunch at the Helios on-site restaurant. It was our favorite spot for these meals. There are numerous dinner restaurants available on the larger complex property and the most popular ones book up very quickly. Highly recommend you meet with your butler on your arrival day, determine your preferred restaurants, and ask them to book you dinner reservations for every night of your stay. It was one less thing to worry about each day having all of our dinner reservations set up in advance for our week long stay.

Despite the 5 stars you can still get Traveller‘s diarrhea
We did not choose this resort; it was chosen for us in the context of a week long pickleball camp run by an Ontario group. We were pleasantly surprised by everything about the resort: immaculate extensive grounds & beachfront shared over 3 properties, excellent food and drink, well appointed large rooms, kind staff. Last year we took our adult children to a much cheaper resort in Puerto Plata, and despite taking Dukoral, cholera and typhoid vaccines some in our party were quite sick with diarrhea. Given the lack of success with the prophylaxis, my hubby and I took nothing ahead of this trip, hoping the 5 stars would save us. Unfortunately hubby got the diarrhea towards the end of the week. It persisted until we got home and he could access the necessary antibiotics. At the end of the day, I think we would avoid this island because the people seem to be asymptomatic carriers of the bacteria which make us sick. We will take our money to Bahamas or Aruba and stay at less fancy places to reduce the risk of gastro. If you are ok with the Dominican this sure is a nice resort to visit. On the topic of pickleball: the facilities were lovely. Unfortunately, management had not communicated to other resort guests that our group had reserved all courts every morning from 8:30-11:30. This caused unnecessary friction that could have been avoided with proper planning.

This was my first experience @TRS, and I highly recommend this location. Everything was phenomenal, the room, the butlers, the maids, housekeeping. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I will definit Return to TRS.

Amazing Experience
Weather was not great early in our stay, but resort had many options to enjoy the stay regardless of that. Excursion options were amazing! Food was great!

The Grounds are gorgeous. The people mostly very friendly Great bartender, Stephen, great butlers, Cindy and Manuel. Everything else fell short.
