EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING STAY AVOID THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS
I just returned from this resort yesterday, and I’m still trying to process the experience—it was truly disappointing from start to finish. The only positive aspects of this property are the pool and the recently renovated rooms. Beyond that, everything else was a complete letdown. I arrived on October 25th, and check-in was chaotic. I never received a welcome drink, even though everyone else around me did—it genuinely felt like I was invisible. The Wi-Fi didn’t work inside my room, and the only places to get wifi were on the balcony or anywhere outside of your room , where mosquitoes were unbearable they would would of eaten you alive if they could of The buffet food was mediocre at best, and surprisingly, the à la carte restaurants were even worse. Every meal I had was stone cold—I never once received a hot dish during my stay. The service in both the buffet and restaurants was terrible; staff acted as though guests were an inconvenience. I often had to flag down servers and practically beg for basic service, which is unacceptable at a supposedly all-inclusive resort. At El Pilon restaurant, I had an issue with my meal. When I brought it to the waitress’s attention, she simply removed my plate without an apology or explanation. I found this extremely rude and left immediately. The service at the lobby bar was just as disappointing. The waitress continuously skipped over me and my friend while serving everyone else, making us feel completely ignored. To make matters worse, I ended up getting food poisoning during my stay and was sick for two full days—losing nearly half my vacation. Management only reached out to me the night before my checkout, which felt like a pity gesture rather than genuine concern. When I spoke to a manager named Nina, she told me there was nothing she could do since I was checking out soon, and even suggested that if I wanted proper service, I should have paid for an upgraded package. Why would I pay extra when I wasn’t even receiving the standard service I already paid for? It’s disappointing to spend your hard-earned money and be treated like a second-class guest. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I would not recommend this resort to anyone. That being said, I would like to recognize a few staff members who made a small positive difference during my stay: Jerry and Daniel from the front desk, Rose and Natalie from the spa, and Carlos from the buffet. They were the only bright spots in an otherwise terrible experience. I stayed in Room 1376

Warning : Stay away!!
What an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. TLDR: there are too many beautiful options to stay at in Punta Cana to get stuck at Caribe Deluxe. Do yourself the favor and stay elsewhere for a positive experience. If you want the full scoop continue reading: From the moment of check in the customer service was horrible. Our group had 2 rooms booked; one with three people and one with one person. Upon checkin Jerry from the reception desk asks where 5th person is. We inform him we don’t have one it’s only us 4 and he tells us we were charged for 2 people in the single room. We asked if there was anything he could do to adjust it, maybe upgrade the room or something to compensate that we paid $300-$400 extra and he basically told us to kick rocks. Too bad for us. Our bags then didn’t get to our room until nearly 8pm when we checked in at 3pm. We had to go to the hotel lobby to pick up our bags ourselves. The rooms were in horrible condition. In one room the toilet was filled with human feces, even though the cleaning staff had the audacity to place a “sanitized” sticker to seal it. There was blood on the lampshade and it reeked of humidity. The second room had a constant jackhammering sound when the AC was on and no cold water. Toilet wouldn’t flush and when we called the front desk they advised us to “turn on the cold water and let it run for 10 mins” and throw water in the toilet for it to flush. The food at the resort was limited and not very good. The drinks were watered down and sugary. The waiters at the buffet refused to give us glasses of water because “breakfast service was over” when it was 10:25am and breakfast ends at 10:30am. We had an uncomfortable encounter with another hotel guest at the bar above the snack bar, where he took one of our drink walked away with it then came back and put it in the same spot as if we wouldn’t notice. We communicated to the bartender what happened and he shrugged at us like he couldn’t have cared less. We got stuck paying for an Uber back from the casino/club associated with the property because after telling us the shuttle could bring us back anytime, it had “stopped running 10 minutes ago”. The spa made errors on our reservation and blamed it on reception instead of taking accountability and finding a solution for us. Winnyfer from the spa was facetious and made us waste over an hour of our time there just to end up not being serviced at all. The staff was for the most part unfriendly, rude and no one took accountability for anything that was going wrong. You know it’s bad when the employees themselves are bad mouthing the hotel. The only positive highlight would be the pool entertainment team. They were friendly and had great energy. They deserve to work somewhere better. As someone of Dominican descent and that has been to 10+ resorts all over the Dominican Republic, I could never in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. I will be warning anyone who asks to stay clear from the Caribe Deluxe Princess.
