Can't wait to return :-)
This was neither my first all-inclusive resort vacation nor my first solo trip, and once again the Caribe Deluxe Princess did not disappoint. The resort ticks a lot of my boxes. There are plenty of areas—by the pools and along the beach—where you can relax and enjoy a quiet, peaceful vacation, or you can jump right into the fun with the animation team and their games and activities. In the evenings there’s usually music and dancing, along with theatre shows that appear to rotate weekly. It was great to see the energy and excitement throughout the resort. If you’re a family looking for a solid all-inclusive, I would definitely put the Caribe Deluxe/Tropical Deluxe high on your list—it truly caters to everyone. The rooms are big, clean and have the tropical vibe I like. Always clean and the maids do a great job, if you need anything extra just holler. The beach is wide with plenty of space, and the ocean views are spectacular, offering great swimming conditions. The grounds are lush and tropical and they are always busy meticulously manicuring the vegetation. Not a day goes by that you don’t see the grounds crew hard at work and offering a smile. Food options are plentiful and consistently good. No need to overthink it—just pick a restaurant and enjoy. The main buffet has a huge variety of offerings and there’s a different theme every day. There’s also a great alternative for more of a snack station on the Tropical side at the Beach House. With so many restaurants and bars spread across the resort, there’s always something new to try. The ice cream shop is a nice touch, and the Café is a delightful spot that also serves desserts—perfect for a little treat during the day or evening. The resort itself is nicely compact, with most rooms, restaurants, pools, and the beach close together. A couple of additional restaurants and bars are located near the lobby. There is a trolley, but many guests prefer to walk and take in the mangroves and local wildlife. After all the lounging and great food, the stroll doesn’t hurt—LOL. **If you’re looking to treat or pamper yourself, the Platinum upgrade is awesome... a la cart breakfast and lunches, beachfront dining with dedicated service, special menus and spectacular views while dining. The beach beds are sooooo comfortable and in their own special area.** Many thanks to the ALL the great staff and management (F.E. & A.G.) for a truly great vacation... I will certainly be returning to the Caribe Deluxe Princess and highly recommend. DD

I would REALLY think twice…
Be VERY wary when booking this resort. It is advertised as a 5 star resort, but it’s definitely an old resort that they slapped some paint on and are now claiming is 5 stars. Pros: The grounds are pretty with lots of wildlife (if you can stomach the stench) and the entertainment at the shows is fun. The beach has minimal seaweed. That’s where the pros stop. I’m genuinely baffled on how this resort has so many positive reviews. Cons: I’m going to start with the most concerning, which is theft from the housekeepers. I took out 5 1000 dollar bills (pesos) and on day one left my wallet out on the bed (my mistake). The housekeepers helped themselves to a 1000 dollar bill. The second day I decided to hide my wallet, which housekeeping still found, and decided once again to help themselves to the money in my wallet, taking another 1000 dollar bill. This amounts to 30 usd so I decided it wasn’t worth it to say anything, stopped getting room turnover and nothing else was stolen after the housekeepers stopped coming in. After doing some digging in reviews, I see that this is a recurrent problem here. Be VERY WARY when leaving belongings out and utilize the safe, however it is unfortunate that this is an experience had at a “luxury” resort when I have stayed in hostels that cost me 10 bucks a night and never had things stolen from me. Check in was a disaster, waited over an hour for the room to be ready (which they told us repeatedly 10 more mins), observed this was a problem and complaint by everyone else checking in at the same time. They will say you can check out late to make up for it, but late check out doesn’t exist here, as you have to be out of the rooms by 12 but can stay on the grounds until your pickup. Once you finally do get your room, you’ll be greeted by the lovely view of a concrete lot next door (photo attached) The food was atrocious, while not inedible, it was the same things every night, meat was undercooked or severely overcooked on multiple occasions, and if you don’t seem to be overly friendly with the staff expect to sit through and entire buffet meal without getting a drink. The other restaurants are literally a joke with the exception of the Dominican restaurant. The “Brazilian” which other reviews have claimed was their saving grace in terms of food quality here, consisted of a shared singular plate of sides, and after waiting almost an hour they bring around the meats; half of a hotdog, a piece of beef, a piece of ham and a piece of pineapple- the warm pineapple on a skewer was my final straw. And if you ask for extra or more than one item from a menu (ie 2 appetizers listed) the staff seems to be upset by this?? At an “ALL-INCLUSIVE”??? Now let’s talk beach chairs: I have never experienced this at any other resort, but if you are not up and securing your chair by LATEST 7 am, you are out of luck on getting any seating. The busiest time of day here is 630 am where people take all the beach chairs, pool chairs, and leave them without returning for hours, leaving people who are actually trying to utilize the chairs unable to. Not to mention people will take multiple chairs to themselves, it’s a disaster. So much for sleeping in and relaxing: make sure to have an alarm set. The resort itself also has much to be desired. Cracks in the stones on the grounds, missing chunks of ground, the floor of the pool crumbling and paint non existent on the beach bar chairs in the pool (which is the only spot to sit in the entire 3 pools), water coming in through walls of a restaurant when it rains, abandoned huts on the drive in-once again it is very obvious that this is an old resort that they slapped some paint on and decided to label as 5 stars. I have been to multiple countries, I’ve even stayed at another resort in the dr in the similar price range (ocean el faro) and the experiences I’ve had at other resorts, even to another resort in the dr versus here was night and day. Could it be worse? Definitely, but I can say that this place is not worth the money or the headache and I would highly consider booking elsewhere.

Disappointed
First of all, this is not a five star hotel, don’t know where to start first the positives the grounds are kept lovely. The beach is nice. The rooms are kept relatively clean. The only issue is you only get two bath towels and one hand towel, so if you have a shower in the morning, you will have to get dried on damp towels everyone is different so this may not bother some people. A lot of the staff can be rude we reported two members of staff in the sports bar one four telling one of our party to Foff the other just ignored us never got any feedback on the hotel after we reported it. The buffet wasn’t all that clever the seats you have to watch because of bird poop on the backs of the chairs also the cushions on the chairs are filthy, the staff don’t seem to be bothered about it. Some pretend they can’t understand you a lot of it is put on, tables not set up properly glasses and cups missing along with cutlery I can’t understand how a waiter or waitress can set up a table like that having worked in catering myself. A lot of the staff expect you to tip them. Sorry, if the service is crap, I don’t tip. One of the waitresses in the reception bar was very good and she did get a lot of tips from us on a night. She was very good. Overall the whole party was very disappointed with the hotel and no one would recommend this to anyone I haven’t got pictures of the chairs. I must’ve been the only one that didn’t take photos. The hotel management will respond to this review by saying we have taken your complaints, ect ect the same old crap nothing never done well that was my experience will not return to this hotel
