Poor quality
First impression when you approach the hotel isn't great as the hotel next door has been partially demolished and 100's of bath tubs placed on there tennis courts which is by the Princess Hotel entrance. Once you enter the hotel it is quite attractive looking with ponds and wildlife in them, Check in was a bit stressful eventually all got sorted or so we thought as our group had a total of 6 rooms when 2 of our party opened there room door there were already guests in it when we called reception from another room there response was to listen then just hang up luckily we had a bell boy who took charge called reception back and after a heated conversation sorted another room for us and had to get the door key brackets recoded later. Rooms, our room was of a nice size with all the amenities needed i.e. mini bar, iron, umbrella, hairdryer my only criticism of my room was that it was in need of some simple maintenance the phone didn't work the towel hook, toilet roll holder shower shelf and hand shower head bracket were all hanging off the wall with the last 2 falling off during our stay also the rain water shower head went bang and water spraying out of the pipe instead of the head, I have been visiting the Dom Rep for over 20 years and have stayed in various chains but never experienced a few strange practices that happened here one being the maids taking all the towels from the room before 9am every morning and not returning them some days until 5pm another being later in the restaurants you are expected to use the same cutlery for every coarse with plates being cleared but the cutlery being left. Some of the buildings and paths are in need of maintenance with a large moulding falling from one during our stay and pot holes in the paths also one of our party cut his foot on the bottom of one of the pools Another thing to mention is that we didn't find one toilet with a working lockable door in the rooms of any public toilets around the hotel most had locks missing. Restaurants The choice of food in the buffet was very basic and repetitive and of a poor quality compared to what we have had in other hotels especially on a 2 week stay and thought given to people with specially dietary needs or allergies The food in the pool restaurant was mainly burgers, hot dogs and chicken but this is the only place to get fries apart from the sports bar, the only negative here was that the food wasn't covered so flies were landing on it even hot food. The food in the sports bar was good along with good service and well made drinks we wished we had used this bar earlier in our stay. We ate ate at the Brazilian, Mexican and Asian restaurants with the first two being hit and miss as we experienced a good night and a rubbish night in both we ate in the Asian twice and both times food and service was good. The grounds are very large with wildlife everywhere there is a swamp like section between the two areas of the hotel which I believe is kept wet for the wildlife but does contribute towards the large number of mosquito's in the hotel we were still getting bitten daily even using deet bug spay on ourselves. On a whole the hotel is attractive but there was a shortage of pool towels over the new year with us being unable to get any for 3 days there isn't a lot to do a few things like mini golf and table tennis the beach is quite small so you need to get a sunbed at sunrise if you want to spend the day on the beach, there also wasn't much of an atmosphere especially as it was Christmas and new year with the entertainment being very basic and bar staff not very friendly to be honest the waitresses and waiters made better drinks and were the stars of the hotel. We checked out of the hotel feeling disappointed with the hotel and all felt that it was probably the lowest standard hotel that we have stayed in the Dom Rep its a shame as it wouldn't take a great amount to massively improve things as front desk, food quality and bar staff being able to make a simple drink like sangria instead of just saying no and maintenance would change the whole feel of the hotel. Would we use Princess hotels again definitely no I expect there rely that you for your post but I don't expect anything will change this review may appear negative but there wasn't a lot of positives to mention.

Would not go back- Disappointed
Resort grounds & beach are very nice, but the resort itself does need some maintenance-alot of cracked tiles on the walkways outdoors. The mangrove with the critters on the way to the lobby is also nice. Booked Caribe Deluxe King Bed- they put us in the Tropical Deluxe in a Family Suite with 2 rooms and Bunk Beds in One-not what I was looking for on a romantic trip. The food was sub par at the buffet for breakfast & lunch. Really struggled to find something to eat. The AC barely works and is set at a minimum of 68, but it definitely never got that cool and the humidity was unbearable-all of our things were actually wet. We also lost power in our room twice. I was surprised that there was no waitstaff at the pool or on the beach. Making dinner reservations at the Concierge is time consuming and also-the people trying to sell timeshare are relentless and annoying. I had to find alternate routes to get out of my room because they were standing there every day! I had been to A Princess resort in Riviera Maya and it was lovely, thats why I tried this resort. Absolutely different experiences and will never come back to this one.

NEVER AGAIN ......
NEVER AGAIN ...... This isn't 4 star resort. It's pushing to be 3 star In general facility isn't bad; rooms are renovated but there is huge issues with customer service: 1. They have huge problem with towels (beach and room) There is a rules for the beach towels to be changed once per day. And the guy at towel station won't give you any extra, unless you tip him. Every towel, like gold and he behaves, like it’s his personal and need to be saved If you need more then 2 towels for the room, you will ask 10 times and probably won't get it. Room service speaks no English at all 2. If you need beach chair, should go and put towel at 6:00 AM. Good luck to find any chair after 7:00 AM and team don't care. All they will say – “we sorry, but…..” 3. There is food at the buffet, but same every day, so after 3 - 4 days, you get tired and don't want to eat it any more 4. Restaurant provide only one choice appetizer, main and desert, so you use buffet before or after dinner 5. Entertoyment during evening happened only twice. Other shows was only guest involved and after show very small dance area beside reception. 6. If you want to go to casino or night club, wait for shuttle there and back. We waited 20 minutes, never came, so gave up 7. And main problem is, if you don't speak Spanish, this place is not for you. Most of staff refuse to speak English and even during night show, not one word in English been said
