Overall Great Experience
We just returned from a week at the Westin. Pros: Staff is very helpful. Our concierge Pablo was so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the kindness and availability of staff to help. Check in and check out was remarkably easy. The pools are beautiful and clean. The monkeys in the morning were such a delight. The food was fresh and delicious. It was nice to walk the grounds in the morning and on the adjoining trail. Cons: At times service at the restaurants was a little slow. As long as you know that you are going in with a dining experience instead of just eating, you will relax and unwind. Some of the beach vendors can be a little pushy but it's a minor inconvenience. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return.

best vacay ever!
My family stayed at the Westin for a week and had an excellent experience. The service was top-notch, everyone was friendly, and our room was very clean. We ate at several of the on-site restaurants and the food was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive, and housekeeping did a great job every day. Outside the resort, local sellers offer massages and tours, and we found them very friendly and professional. We booked a day tour with Erik G (look for his blue Google shirt, you can find him online easily). He coordinated everything for us. We went to see sloths and waterfalls with Jefferey as our guide—it was a wonderful hike and an amazing day. Jefferey was knowledgeable and friendly, making the tour extra special. Erik was great at setting it all up smoothly. Highly recommend both the resort and using Erik to plan your adventures. Thank you to everyone who made our trip so memorable. May God bless you all with happiness!

Wonderful Vacation at the Westin
The service and facilities are very nice. We found the shuttle service extremely helpful as it is a large resort. Room service was amazing. We enjoyed all the different animals on the property monkeys, squirrels, quati, iguanas. It was like the resort was just nestled right in nature. The beach was nice but waves were strong. It was always possible to get a chair on the beach as well as at the pool. There was pool side servers who were great! Thanks Ivan. We were a little worried about rainy season but we had most days that were all or majority sun. The rooms were nice and the air conditioning worked well. We very much enjoyed the balcony on our room. The entertainment staff was excellent. The pool is large and never seemed overly crowded. We enjoyed drinks from the pool bar which served alcoholic as well as non such as water. We found our best deals from the local market between the hotel property and the beach. There are so many amazing activities you can do. It was very clean all over town and on the resort. Prices at the on resort shops are VERY high, DON'T forget extra sunscreen. Other than our activities which included horse back riding on the beach, jet skis, hot springs and shopping in tamarindo we really didn't explore town much. I definitely recommend this location for service and quality. The ONLY real down side was the ATM was broken most of the time. Customer service was always good about remedying any issue which we had very few.

First time but won’t be our last!!
We have had an incredible week at the Westin Playa Conchal!! Our family of 12 ranges in age from 14 to 80 and there has been something for everyone! The staff is friendly, the food at the sit-down restaurants has been top-notch, and the activities are great. We enjoyed morning stretching with an iguana watching us and a monkey up in the tree. We’ve loved water aerobics and found it to be a good workout for all ages. Sammy on the beach gave wonderful massages. Erik G in the blue Google shirt on the beach set us up on a fantastic half day monkey and crocodile river tour with Jeffrey who was a knowledgeable and funny guide. We had a jungle boat rover cruise all to ourselves and found it to be a perfect excursion for the two 80 year olds who have a bit more limited mobility. Had a front row seat to some great wildlife! Some of us also went sport fishing with Wet Ass II, caught sailfish and grouper. The resort cooked the grouper that night free of charge. Delicious!! The live music at dinners has also been wonderful and the fire show was terrific. Be sure to get in line before the Bamboo restaurant opens. It is small but the food is worth it. We have one day left but are already planning our next trip back here. Do be sure to bring plenty of cash for tips as thank you’s for the many hard-working folks who help to make such a memorable time!

Safe, fun, clean
The resort overall is safe and clean. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I usually don't sleep well on vacation but had no issues here. Bed was firm and didn't shake when others moved around. Pillows were way too soft though. Sofa bed was one of the best sofa beds I've ever laid on. No bar in your back just a little squeaky when you moved. We had 3 full adults in 1 room. Staff was amazing and responded quickly to all requests. I did get locked inside my room because the little latch flipped when the door closed and took a little bit to fix that. We had another room room booked with an adult and kid and their latch needed replaced because the batteries died or something, took an hour to fix but they responded quickly to get that done and fixed. The pool was huge and never over crowded perfect temperature and clean. The frozen drinks were good, but not sure if alcohol was watered down or not. Sometimes they didn't put any in the drink as you watched them and had to request that. The food would say was average at best. Wasn't the worst but not 5 stars either. There was a variety. The only restaurant that had a wait was the aisian one. If you want to eat there get there before it opens to get in line, but even then the food was just okay. The beach is full of shells, I suggest water shoes. Snorkeling was okay didn't see much. You can walk further to the right on the trails to get to Braslito Beach. Sand was much better there and not as crowded. We also got massages on the beach for $40 for an hour. Highly recommend, ladies in the blue tables! We also went horseback riding. Very fun, but if you really want to do it, bring pants, you won't regret it. Also did jet skis and was taken to a cave to go swimming and cliff jumping. My kids loved that. All of those were booked by people on the beach. Easy to reserve and friendly and safe. Nightlife was so so. The best part was karaoke, everyone came out for that and I would suggest the resort to offer that ever night, one night isn't enough for all the people that want to participate. It also started a half hour late, we almost left. Magaician was funny, also would like to see more of that stuff, maybe a comdian? The dancing was not enjoyable just because the music was boring and it was just slow, same for fire show. Overall, it was a great vacation. The Westin is a great hotel, you will enjoy it if you stay there, just don't expect 5 star food and entertainment, but it is safe and staff was friendly and attentive.
