Best All Inclusive Ever!!!
We just returned last week and will hopefully return next year. This resort is gorgeous! My kids especially enjoyed the wildlife. We had howler monkeys just outside our balcony in the mango trees every morning, which were a treat to watch. The rooms are huge and spotless. The staff was always so friendly and eager to help in any way. The restaurants were also great. Our favourites were the International and Asian. There were always activities going on at the pool. The beach was nice. On a bit of a hill so for anyone with physical limitations it could be a challenge. I especially loved not having to rush down every morning to save a beach chair! This was a first and we've been to many all inclusives. The staff would bring beach chairs as needed. Our trip was unfortunately cut short because of the Covid19 pandemic. By the time we left almost the entire resort had been shut down around us. Despite that though, the staff were so accommodating and did their best to try to keep us happy. We will definitely be back!!
Great Vacation with Friends!
The Westin was a nice resort with all the amenities. The restaurants were very good and service was excellent! Enjoyed all the varieties of food types, but our favorites were Bamboo Asian and Spirula Trattoria! The pool was fun and swim up bar was stocked! The Beach was nice and full of seashells. Had a great excursion booked by Erik Garcia right from the beach. Spent the day zip lining, hiking to a waterfall and bathing in hotsprings. Highly recommended! Enjoyed our week in Costa Rica! Pura Vida!
Gorgeous Beach and Resort
My husband and I returned from a quick four-day trip to Costa Rica last month and wanted to share what a beautiful resort and prime location the Westin has for future visitors. It is conveniently located one-hour from Liberia Airport and we had no problem getting to the resort with transportation booked before arriving. Our room was on the second floor of a Spanish style casita and surrounded by lush plantings and flowers. The resort is expansive with several restaurants and a large pool area, but we always enjoyed walking along the scenic pathways instead of taking the resort trolleys that run continuously. We tried almost every restaurant and our favorites were ordering pizza for lunch at the Italian place and outdoor dining at sunset at the seafood restaurant. The spa was gorgeous and I enjoyed my massage and time at the private spa pool afterwards. Other than leisurely time at the pool, you will enjoy the fabulous beach and gentle warm water with few waves that rivals those I have seen in Hawaii. If you prefer to surf, we had a wonderful time one afternoon at nearby Tamarindo Beach that is known for great waves and cute beachside bars and restaurants. Our favorite excursions were an afternoon horse riding along the beach and an eco boat tour through a national park to see monkeys and crocodiles. Theses two outings really completed our trip and we are so appreciative to Erik on the beach that coordinated these adventures for us. Mostly, we loved meeting the wonderful people of Costa Rica who were always lovely and friendly whether at the resort or beyond. Pura Vida!
Love this place!
We first visited this property under different management in 2005, for our 10th anniversary. As we approached our 25th, after much consideration, we decided to go back. New management, much growth between the 2 visits, but our overall impression was unchanged. We had a junior suite, very close to restaurants and the pool. Our first day, a howler monkey took a nap in the tree outside the room. Coatis roam the grounds, which are lush, beautiful and very well maintained. We had a wonderful week, great, though hot, weather, good service, pleasant staff and wildlife. The beach is public, and many local vendors show their wares right outside of the gates.
Awesome Spring Break Retreat
Our first visit to Costa Rica was a trip to remember! The staff at the Westin were amazing from the point of our arrival to our departure. The rooms were large and comfortable. The choices of different restaurants were great and the food choices were also great. As far as activities, I would highly recommend Erik Garcia. He is located on the beach and is easy to find. He was able to schedule zip lining for my family and offered a number of other excursions. Also, the $20 massages on the beach were also great. Sheri did an amazing deep tissue massage (did I say they were $20) and the sound of the waves was very relaxing. The Westin is a definite recommend!
