It was a great experience the service we received was great especially Sonia, and the view of the beach was beautiful aswell. The rooms need a little work but other then that everything was great.

I stayed at tis hotel for 6 nights with my family(6 people, including 4 children) and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The food offered did not meet expectations for a 4 star hotel. The superior rooms did not live opt to their name. The hotel staff was not particularly friendly which negatively impacted our stay. During meals it was very difficult to get drinks leading to frustrating waits. Tables were rarely cleared staff totally disorganizated. We often had to wait at the entrance to be seated. They offer a continental breakfast between 6:30 and 7:00 they mean a coffee and 5 croissant nothing else. Dinner at the mexicain restaurant we were offered a table for 4 and another for 2 and we couldn t put them together. We did ask! It was extremly complicated to get a table for everyone at all the restaurants! The pros nice beach and nice forest relaxing environment. I can not recommend this hotel.

Well the current price point is very high and at the level of the Riu (which is 5 star resort). The staff is the best but again the price point does not warrant resort as it is an entry level resort. You can see that they are using AI to dictate the price when booking.

The Reef Playacar Excellent and a Great Location
I found The Reef Playacar Excellent and a Great Location onto the Golden Playacar Beach, The Restaurant and Food Was Very Good, The Pools Were Also Good. The Staff were Magnificent and Always on hand to Help or Give Advice. The Atmosphere Was Great Around the Hotel. The Rooms were Cleaned Daily, Great Value For Money. There waws never any rowdiness as it was always Quiet at Night. The Ice Creams are Great and The Coconut Ice Cream Is Lovely. I Came back on the 27th November and Booked for Next Year on the 30ht. Its 5 Starts All Round From Me.

The property is beautiful but that's it. This is our 7th time at this resort. We are on day 2 as I write this, no longer is it worth paying for premium room. The area at the beach for premium guests allows anyone and is not the prime location...the beach area has rope around it so you can'teven walk freely to the water. Most people are smoking. Nicos is now only for club members and we were turned away. We had to pay an EXTRA 270 dollars just to get a room that is close to the beach and pool that was standard with the premium upgrade. Then we have a new friend, Mr coackroach freeloading in our room..we are from the south where Palmetto bugs are standard...this was not one. As travel agents we have friends back home waiting for pictures and are wanting to book here. There is no way I would send any friends or clients here now with the changes, very disappointing!!! There are so many properties in this general area with a beautiful beach and property, I would not recommend this one.
