    Avoid this resort!

Avoid this resort at all costs! It is no where near 5*. It is dated and shabby, some parts are dangerous. The customer service is the worst we have ever experienced around the world, staff are unfriendly, we had two servers, in two weeks that smiled. Staff are sitting on personal mobile phones, one was even asleep at the experience desk! The hotel concierge ignore anything you discuss with them. Once a manager is involved they just lie and say they will fix issues. Not minor issues either….Our AC did not work and we were repeatedly told it would be fixed. (The bedroom didn’t get below 25c in our two week stay) Engineers were sent every 48 hours to ‘look’ at it. The toilets were blocked and didn’t work, on our first morning we woke to raw sewage overflowing from the toilet which flooded the entire bathroom and ran into the lounge. We had to speak to concierge everyday and we quickly realised they were not going to deal with any of this. The children’s room balcony door did not lock, the glass tops on the dining table and coffee table were not secure and slid off very easily, both of which are dangerous for family rooms. They cleaned the room on our last day ready for the next family knowing that these issues with the room have not been resolved. They are knowingly selling these rooms to families, which is just awful. Sun beds are old and broken, there are no parasols at the pools or beach, the sun beds have hoods which mean you can only get shade on your head and then can’t talk to anyone around you as you’re inside a hood. There is one server for the entire beach and pool area for drinks service which obviously is not going to be enough. If you want to collect beach towels for a family you can only have two unless you take the entire family with you to ‘prove’ you need more. The WiFi here is useless, it drops out constantly. Generally on the resort children are not made welcome, unless they are on the beach or pool. We had other guests moan loudly about ‘kids’ as we walked into sea glass bar, our children were very well behaved, the staff will refuse to come over and serve you in this bar if you have children, although it is not advertised as an adult only bar, we tried twice and left. One other adult guest even spat on our daughter as she was looking at the turtles, spitting around the resort is common from many male guests. Costs- the tap water is not drinkable as it smells bad, the water in the resort shops is $10 for a small carton, everything here is ludicrously priced. 15% tip is automatically added to everything despite the awful service. Food- the quality of food is generally bad and over priced. Although we did have nice meals at cafe Martinique and Nobu but getting reservations is really difficult. The resort is over crowded, they sell day passes to multiple cruise ships that also use the resort facilities everyday. Even with a reservation you have a long wait to be seated and every restaurant we went to had drinks and food options that were sold out every night, even if you dine early. Avoid Bimini Road even with a reservation they couldn’t find a table suitable for a for a family of 5. There is no bar or restaurant in the Reef hotel at all. We are amazed that this resort is advertised as 5 star. You’ll be wasting your money coming here when there are so many wonderful places in the world to visit. We regret going and won’t be returning.

    Don’t believe the hype

The properties and grounds are beautiful. Most of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, until they aren’t. For example, elevators went out and we were told to walk 18 flights, with two children and dinner while others got to use the service elevator. The other option was to stay the night in the lobby and wait until fixed as they weren’t fixed until the next morning. Toilet in the room didn’t work and the sink was completely clogged upon check in. Also did not get the room we booked. We were told they would send an extra bed; that never happened. Service shuttles are infrequent and you will sometimes need to tell the bell desk to call a shuttle to come to the building. All in all, it’s not worth the hype. Money likely better spent elsewhere.

    Not great. Just ok

You better be ready to walk alot. Do not expect the room you purchase. Frige does not keep dairy chilled enough. Casino acted like they could not find me to give comps and I played for around four hours two days each . Third time in Bahamas. This was the worst by far to stay at. Sad because it cost a small fortune. Hawaii was cheaper By far.

    Would try once, wouldn’t repeat.

Great beaches and water was beautiful. Great variety of pools, kids enjoyed the waterpark but lost its appeal quickly due to crowds from cruiseships. Water on property and in room smelled strongly of sulfur, making bath time a “rotten egg” experience. Staff working the grounds were great as were housekeeping, management staff failed to followup with us following a concern we had on check-in.

    Amazing Family Summer Vacation

We loved our room, we loved the views, we loved the close proximity and easy access to the Cascades pools and Paradise Beach. Also enjoyed and frequently used the water bottle filling stations. They played Moana 2 on a giant screen poolside one night and that was a really fun treat for the kids.
