    So Incredible!!!

    My boyfriend and I decided to spend a little extra and go somewhere extra special. It came highly recommended by the daughter of a girlfriend who gave it glowing reviews. It was an amazing place.....to narrow it down to one thing?? Please don't ask me to do that! Everything was exceptional. All the choices in restaurants were far beyond our enjoyment. We needed more time to try everything twice! The rooms were so clean, fresh and comfortable. We stayed in the villa that overlooks the adults only pool which was nice and quiet. Access to everywhere was quiet easy. We had friends staying the same time at another resort a little further from us so when we booked our excursions, the Air Transat office was able to book ours the same time as our friends. It made the trip! The pools and the beach exceeded our expectations, the staff were so friendly and always helpful. I couldn't just pick out one person that surpassed anyone else. We'd definitely be back!!

    The fives made me fall in love with Mexico again 💕 also.. better late than never!

    All 46 of our wedding guests stayed from December 11th-20th. Although a few hiccups a long the way, not only did the wedding team make our wedding an absolute DREAM. But they also made me fall in love with Mexico again, I’ve been to a few resorts in Mexico but nothing can compare to the hard work and warm attitude all the employees out into making staying at the fives great. Because December is such a busy time down south a few of the bars were short on liquor. But this clearly isn’t the end of the world if you can’t have tequila for one night! The food is all around amazing. We loved the sushi bar as it was always fresh and we loved the taco stand by the pool! We had a chance to get out of the resort and explore. You can choose to do this with an excursion company from the resort, but we had chosen to go out on our own because we had family members staying at a house in playa del Carmen. We felt so safe and all the locals was so nice! Once covid is finally done we are RUNNING back to the fives. We can’t wait to get back to all the live animals and eat at mestizo again!

    Amazing and perfect!

    My first stay in Mexico, however, I have been to several all inclusive hotels both in Europe, Asia and Africa before. The hotel is huge and well-kept, it is cleaned frequently, it is fixed and all the staff are pleasant and helpful. It is a completely different mentality here than, for example, in Egypt as they are friendly, kind and considerably calmer and not as pompous. Everything from cleaners, to the bar staff are fantastic, they should all have high ratings. We stayed two weeks and never got tired of the food, there are many places to choose from: buffet (French and one that varies), Japanese, Italian, Thai, Mexican and a bars with lighter food such as burgers etc. I liked the food all over the place but the best was the Thai and the Italian restaurant. The best "all inclusive food" I have ever received, well-prepared, fresh and varied! Some of the restaurants you had to book at the concierge in advance for get table, so look that up allready when you arrive so you don't miss one or two days. The main square had some shows or band playing in the evenings as well as there are a gin bar and some shops. Its good wifi in all the hotel area so no problem get connected. There are many and so big pools so you will definitely find your favourite. There are also an adult pool that is heated and where it is quiet because the lack of children. The area is big so there are also some bus / car with a trolley that from early morning until midnight, guests transport free around the area so you can go from, for example, the beach to the main building. The beach is chalky white, clean, but full of rocks unfortunately and the water is blue. However, it is quite windy and sometimes high waves. There are a lot of bartenders at the beach to help you to not be thirsty. Also two nice piers with small houses at the beach. We also celebrated Valentines day at our stay and book a special dinner at the beach (probably the most amazing and romantic dinner in my life) with a band that played and our own waiter and a lots of food. I could write a book about all things and I would love to come back one day, because it was the best trip I ever had!

    Great Resort

    We stayed at the Fives in early February 2020 for friends’ wedding. The resort was beautiful and well kept. Our room was huge, basically an apartment, way more than we were expecting. Several other couples there for the wedding got the penthouse rooftop suites, definitely not worth the upgrade. Lots of wasted space and Jacuzzis that didn’t have warm water. Overall the resort is long and stretched out so we had to do a lot of walking. Also because of that there are no beachfront rooms. Lots of restaurants to choose from, several we didn’t even have time to dine at. They were always on top of food allergies and the food was excellent everywhere, we especially loved the Italian restaurant, Sushi, Mexican on the far end from the beach, and the beach bistro with all the taco options. We felt the options for breakfast were somewhat limited and did wish there was at least one sit down-order from a set menu breakfast option instead of two buffets that for the most part had the exact same food offerings. The smoothie shop was an excellent option for a grab and go breakfast especially with their muffins. 24 hour room service was awesome with a great selection but was extremely slow. Also, the pool bars seemed to close kind of early and they were not very plentiful with keeping the beer stocked in the fridge. With our group getting together in the evening hours at each others rooms, we were often left waiting for a few beers and wine to come through room service due to the slowness and they had a limit on how much they could bring at once. Several times we ordered more when it was being delivered and they never brought more. They really went above and beyond with their nightly evening events and entertainment every night and also the special meal set-ups. We did notice a huge difference in service between our “blue wrist band” level and the “purple and black wrist band” guests. We always had trouble getting reservations, only being offered 8pm or later times and when we’d show up for dinner at those times, the restaurants were almost completely empty. One time a gentleman with a black wristband was ahead of us to make reservations, said he wanted some for tonight at 7pm and left without even waiting for confirmation, and when it was our turn we were told the only opening for the remainder of our trip was three days from now at 9:30pm. That is just one of the ways there was a noticeable difference in treatment for higher paying guests. We also found it odd you couldn’t even use the spa without booking a service. At other resorts we’ve stayed at you had full access to the pools, steam rooms/saunas, etc as a guest. Overall we had a wonderful time, especially going with a group, but was not the customer service in some areas we’ve experienced on other trips.

    AMAZING 2nd visit to The Fives! Can’t wait to go back!!

    We have just returned from our second amazing, luxurious visit to The Fives. From the welcome champagne as we checked in to our amazing team of butlers Enrique, Francisco, Joel, Pedro, Pedro & Carlos - we cannot thank you enough for your welcome, kindness and help - you made our stay so special! Fernando, your smile as you shuttled us to and from the beach was always appreciated! Diego, your cabana service was top! Things that I think make The Fives stand out from other resorts: 1. the genuine kindness and amazing service throughout the whole resort regardless of the job, the staff seem to be happy to be there. 2. The beautiful nature surrounding - the protected mangroves that wind through the resort where you get to see wild monkeys swing through the trees, or turtles rest in the shade as you go to breakfast or the beach. 3. The choice of fantastic restaurants. We were always able to get a reservation. 4. The beautiful playa - the cabana life cannot be beaten! The beach and main pool service to your lounger or the pool cannot be beaten - don’t forget to try the pool side taco stand - sooo good! 5. Meticulously maintained, beautifully designed rooms with all the comforts you need. As mentioned, this was our second visit, and it just gets better! We will be back. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay such a great memory!
