  Snorkeling in Amazing Places

  The most amazing time. Edgar and Ariel were friendly and attentive. The snacks and drinks were delicious. I would recommend this excursion 100%

  El Cielo Excursion

  This was a great excursion with many beautiful sites. Plus, Edgar and Ariel were amazing tour guides! My only recommendation is to apply sunscreen prior to the trip since you will not be allowed to apply before snorkeling.

  AMAZING 40th birthday celebration

  My husband planned this trip for my 40th birthday because I love this resort and island so much. I love that you can utilize both facilities and activities are included. The pools have been updated and the whole resort is very clean. Staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. They all remembered everyone's name even after only meeting them 1 time. The food at all the restaurants was absolutely delicious!! We had a private dinner on the beach to celebrate my birthday and Arturo, Jose and Gabriel really made it special! Some of the people I would really like to mention for top service: Breakfast at fiesta- Gabriel, Jose, Alejandra Francesco - lunch buffet bartender at fiesta Breakfast at explorean- Jared, Alan Bartenders: Fiesta- Angel, Gustavo, Jorge, Enrique Explorean- Manuel, Julio Dinner at Fiesta- Manuel and Jhony dinner at Italian Gabriel - head waiter Lidia - Asian server Luis - dinner night with mahi Dinner at explorean- Manuel Aaron-beach server, Manuel-pool server Javier- head waiter/captain Daniel - head waiter/captain Isabel-captain helped with food Arturo-captain Martin luggage out They all made my birthday very special!

  Nightmare

  0/10 – Do Not Recommend I do not recommend anyone ever stay at The Explorean Cozumel. My experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. The manager, Marisol, completely lacked compassion or professionalism. Checking in was a horrific nightmare — I was left standing in the sweltering Mexican heat for over an hour while on hold with an unhelpful customer service representative. My flight was canceled due to lightning storms, and the next available flight wasn’t until the next day. I immediately notified the hotel, but they still charged me for the night I physically could not be there — something entirely out of my control. The way the situation was handled by the staff, especially Marisol and the customer service team, was cold and dismissive. Additionally, the excursions — which initially seemed exciting — are extremely limited each day. So even if you were looking forward to certain activities, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to participate. Please, do yourself a favor and look at other hotels when visiting Cozumel. Notifiqué al hotel de inmediato, pero aun así me cobraron por una noche en la que no pude estar en el hotel — algo completamente fuera de mi control. El personal, especialmente Marisol y el equipo de servicio al cliente, manejó la situación de forma insensible y distante. Además, las excursiones que parecían atractivas al principio son muy limitadas por día. Así que es probable que no puedas hacer las actividades que tenías planeadas. Hazte un favor y considera otros hoteles cuando visites Cozumel. Esta experiencia fue una gran decepción en todos los aspectos.

  Wonderful Stay!

  We loved our stay at the Explorean in Cozumel. It is my first time back in Cozumel for a number of years, although we have frequented Playa Del Carmen, Cancun and Rivera Maya. This is amongst one of my favorite visits and we had a wonderful time. This resort is not new, and not large like so many others but this is part of its charm. Our room was nice and just what we needed but nothing over the top like other resorts on the mainland. The staff was attentive and kind, our room was always clean and re-stocked. The premises were peaceful and quiet, and the food at the on-site restaurant was excellent and they catered to my many dietary restrictions. It was so wonderful to take a 5-min walk and be able to see beautiful fish from the onsite snorkeling areas, without Sargassum (though neighboring communities need to practice better fishing/care of the environment skills so tourism remains strong.) What stands out and makes this stay special is that this resort offered “tours” each day that were included with our stay; this is practically unheard of in Mexico and it made it such a special experience. Further, the crew that ran these excursions were exceptional and are simply, the reason we will return. They were fun, hard-working, accommodating, funny and worked so hard to make sure everybody had a great time. In particular, Jassiel, Nestor, Edgar and Ariel made our week unforgettable. These guys deserve a special shout-out from management and the resort. The fun we had on these excursions, coupled with the good food are the reason I will be returning to the Explorean. Of other special note Luis Perera @ Italian restaurant and Miquel at the Explorean bar took super good care of us. Overall, our stay was awesome and this resort is fortunate to have so many great people working for them.
