Things to Know
- If you want elegant accommodation, a huge beach, and some nice restaurants, this is the place to go.
The first sight that will take your breath away is The Crane's unique clifftop setting on one of the most beautiful pieces of beachfront in the world, the Southeast coast of Barbados. For history buffs, this is a great place to be since this hotel holds the unique distinction of being the island's oldest hotel! Not to worry though, the facilities are all new. Now transformed from a very small property into a first-class resort, The Crane still maintains its historic and intimate feel while boasting new and luxurious amenities.
From the moment you step foot into the hotel, its management and staff will be at your service. In fact, the resort's increasing emphasis on service has been rewarded with AAA designation.
After you've had your fill of the beach, it's time to fill your tummy. The hotel's dining has been twice rated number one by Zagat for best food in Barbados. Enjoy some magnificent Japanese/Thai fine dining with seafood fresh from the ocean.
Not sure what else you want to do? Crane Guest Services agents provide personalized service to give you an insider's view of Barbados and The Crane. Excellent Hotel with a Beautiful Beach
Although our visit was last summer, I thought with the lack of current reviews due to coronavirus this was still very relevant. During our time at the Crane, we upgraded ourselves to a two bedroom contemporary suite which was definitely worth the amount extra per night. Due to the fact that it is located in the new private residence block, it featured all new appliances, was very large and beautifully furnished. I would recommend researching the cost of upgrading before arriving because it ended up being much less than we expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crane and thought all of the food was excellent and L'Azure in particular had a wonderful view which made breakfast even better. All of the amenities at the hotel were of a high standard - the pools in particular were excellent and we spent the majority of our time at the adults only pool as it was quieter. The seaweed was not an issue at the beach as they worked hard to clear it. All of the staff were very friendly - Vivienne on reception and Yvette at breakfast both stood out in particular for being so helpful. Overall we thought it was an excellent hotel with stunning views and we would definitely consider returning. The only thing I can think of which could improve the hotel would be upgrading the chairs around the pool.
Just heavenly. Beach is a wonder. Resort is so special - my only complaint - I wish we had more food options. And the little store left a lot to be desired but other than that - - what can I say. Sad leaving. Unit was superb. Pools also but we fell in love with the beach. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Wedding At The Crane
I've stayed at The Crane many times and absolutely love this hotel as it has some really amazing views so it was a no brainer for me to have my wedding there. I have never had a bad experience there until i had to deal with their event planning team!! The wedding experience is EXTREMELY poor! The first initial meeting with the planner went really well but every experience after that was a disaster. The wedding planner never answers her phone, she takes extremely long to respond to emails and when i reported it to a manger i was told they are understaffed in that area and this is the usual experience but on the day of my wedding i'll get better service (I KID YOU NOT!!) . We ended up spending the extra to hire our own wedding planner who also complained about how poor it was getting any information from the hotel's event planning team. I would suggest to anyone having their wedding there sadly you should hire your own event planner, do not use the team provided by the hotel. Weddings are frustrating already, you dont need that extra stress! Definitely would not suggest anyone use this hotel for a wedding!
One of the most courteous and welcoming experience I have had in past years. Facilities and ammenities are very first class coupled with friendly staff, definitely worth another stay in the near future.
My husband and I were here 3/6/20 to 3/11/20. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everyone was professional, courteous and friendly. A manager shows you to your unit to make sure everything is perfect in your unit. We were welcomed with a fruit, cheese and cracker plate. Also the bed had a gorgeous pattern of fresh flowers on it. I had arrived in paradise! I had a one bedroom ocean front unit in building 9. It was absolutely beautiful with so much character and huge with 2 bathrooms. We booked through HGVC. Housekeeping comes in everyday! There is an elevator to take you down to the beautiful beach. Chairs and umbrella at the beach are included. No problem getting them. There are multiple pools and restaurants. The 1887 bar has musicians every night. I can’t say enough positive things about this resort. A shout out to manager Dionne Franklyn! Also, to server Shaliqua at D’onofrio’s Restaurant.
