Recent Trip
The resort is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but need to address some guest dissatisfiers. Upon arrival everyone was friendly and very welcoming, but after the first day several times staff was rude and not warm and welcoming throughout the stay and this was mainly in the grocery store. The disappointing part is they were friendly and catered more to the caucasian travelers. Please re-educate staff on the proper way to interact with guest and to know that we are guest to the island and ask questions because we dont know. Simple question as what kind of muffin that is doesnt warrant an attitude. The first night we ate at Carriage house and it was horrible. The food took over an hour to come out and then when it came out was very disappointing and then the reciept had to be printed seversl times because they just couldnt get it right. Due to rhe delay with food coming out several guests were turned away. During my stay we signed up for archery and the day of my son and I sat out there waiting and after waiting an extra 20mins went to see what happened only to discover that the person who signed me up did it too late so the person who does the class was not contacted. I was never notified but I believe this was BS. I think it was because they didnt have many people that signed up and it wasnt worth it. If this wasnt the case, educate the staff to know of the cut off time to avoid issues like this because I couldve make other arrangements for the day. The pool area doesn't seem to be cleaned regularly. Its not flithy but trash was seen on chairs and behind chairs when we went out early the next morning. Besides, this the resort is beautiful, especially the scenary across the resort. I would like to thank the young lady at the concierge desk who helped to make my son's birthday memorable. Donna by the taxi stand was great and very helpful. The staff at Poesia was great and very nice. The trip wasn't terrible but for the amount of money that was spent on my vacation, I had higher expectations. I dont think I would be returning but I hope improvements are made so others visiting can have a great time!

Nice resort, but poor service
We stayed at the The Crane during the holiday week 2025. The resort is extensive, with wide beaches (although very seaweed-y), lovely pools (including family-friendly ones), many restaurants on site, well-maintained tennis courts, an extensive fitness center, and various shops. Our rooms were very large--with two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, large bedroom, and separate large living room area. The breakfast buffet was reasonably good, and the service there was attentive. Complaints: The service at the restaurants (except for Zen) was incredibly slow. Unless you're going at an off-hour time, it takes WAY too long for food to arrive. Unfortunately, there was no place--other than the general store onsite--to get a quick casual meal. My biggest problem is that upon checkout, The Crane mistakenly charged one of our rooms for expenses we didn't incur. I explained this at checkout, on the phone several days later, and through back-and-forth e-mails in the weeks following. The Crane acknowledged that the expenses were not ours and agreed to remove them. However, it is now nearly two months later, and they still have not done so. I have filed a disputed claim with my credit card company to see whether they can resolve the issue. Very frustrating and disappointing. We will not be back.

Breathtaking views and friendly staff
We have been going to the crane for years and it did not disappoint this year! It’s so nice to see the same staff that had been there year after year. We had our flight cancelled and it was pretty stressful, but Diangelo at the front desk was incredibly helpful in getting us a room and checking our flight for us. He definitely went above and beyond to help us and it was greatly appreciated. Shane from the bell station was also wonderful and went above and beyond with the move to a new room after our cancelled flight. Jason Harper and the carriage house staff are always amazing and it’s so great to see them year after year. The kids club is so great. My girls love going there in the afternoon to get out of the sun for a bit and do arts and crafts in the air conditioning. The staff there are wonderful and I love that it’s the same staff year after year. Stacy in housekeeping was a pleasure and did a great job! I wished we had her daily. Angela at 1887 is amazing, hardworking and goes out of her way to make sure guests have a great experience. As far as the resort itself, it’s so great that there are many amenities on the property and that you don’t have to leave much because it is far from Bridgetown. The views are AMAZING. With that said, there are some areas that could use improvement…. The pool designs are wonderful but definitely do need some attention and repairs. The Azure restaurant renovation was great to see, but the menu and food was overpriced for the quality and quantity that you get. I would not go back there for dinner. Breakfast at Azure with Gloria in charge is a great way to start the day, but being able to order off the menu vs. just buffet would be good for kids and those that don’t eat a big breakfast. They charge for the air conditioning usage which is hard because if you leave your doors open you risk having mosquitoes, birds etc in your room. I do feel this should be included. We love Barbados and the culture of the island. People are so friendly and kind. We look forward to returning and seeing all of our Bajan friends again :)

Breathe taking views with attentive staff
The resort is large and is located in a more remote area of the island. Once you get there, you are in an enchanted village, surrounded by nice guests and staff that are ready to guide you. There are many restaurants, shops, pools, a beautiful beach to enjoy. It is a combination of modern mixed with the old buildings with stunning views. The rooms are large and luxurious. You have everything you need to make your stay memorable.
