    Inspired by the simplicity and elegance of the desert, Manta — designed by JSa Arquitectura and Enrique Olvera — was conceived as a black box that focuses on the views from one of the most desirable and secluded playas in Cabo San Lucas. Our name has a thoughtful double meaning: a manta ray which symbolizes the kitchen’s focus on seafood, while manta, the Spanish word for canvas, conveys the idea of freedom in artistic expression. As The Cape’s culinary centerpiece, Manta celebrates the Pacific Coast cultures, taking inspiration from Mexico, Peru, Japan and beyond.

    The hotel’s main pool’s swim-up bar and terrace offer a vibe that’s both lively and laid-back. Here, you’ll find locally-sourced seafood, contemporary Mexican cuisine and American favorites in a casual, breezy atmosphere overlooking the ocean and picture-perfect views of El Arco. Don’t miss our famous Cape Toast or Sunday brunch with a food station and live music.

    The Rooftop is the quintessential spot for an evening out for two, drinks with friends or a private party. This signature space features open-air bars, al fresco dining, sunken communal seating, a fire pit, and serene water features — emblematic of its Baja locale. Live acoustic music is played to the setting sun, and DJs are on regular rotation at this signature Cabo San Lucas restaurant.

    Rooftop Sunsets! 5/5

    GORGEOUS hotel and staff was wonderful! The Hyatt globalist breakfast was wonderful! We ate at the Ledge for breakfast for our entire stay and Miguel was attentive and kind. The pool was nice and heated- not too warm or cold- just perfect! The view of the famous arch from our balcony was so special. We were welcomed with a bottle of tequila in our room. Every attention to detail will definitely keep us coming back to this resort. The food was SOOO good, Fernanda at the concierge desk was kind and helpful. She helped us book a sailing excursion and even provided towels for us to use during the excursion. The drinks were quality and the sunset from the rooftop was unmatched! We liked watching the surfers in front of the hotel. The hotel is a short taxi ride away from the marina and downtown area where we grabbed dinner most nights. The staff went above and beyond during our stay. BEST hotel we have stayed at in a long time. Thank you Cape for making our vacation special!

    Relaxation and Celebration at The Cape

    The Cape Thompson strikes that rare balance of feeling boutique—small enough that you quickly get your bearings and never feel lost—yet large enough to avoid ever feeling crowded. You get the sense that every part of the property was intentionally designed, and it shows. ✅ Rooms I stayed in an ocean-view suite, and it was exactly what you hope for in Cabo: spacious, modern, clean lines, and a view that reminds you why you booked the trip. Housekeeping was consistent, attentive, and respectful. No issues at all. ✅ Dining & Drinks I didn’t get the chance to try Manta, but I ate multiple times at: The Ledge Sunken Bar Rooftop Room Service Overall, the food and drinks were very good—no real complaints. Just good, well-executed meals and cocktails throughout. ✅ Gym The gym is on the smaller side, but fully capable. Treadmills, stair master, Peloton, free weights, and barbells—all the essentials to keep a routine going. ⭐ Staff Shout-Outs The staff is what really elevates this property. Angel — The Ledge: Outstanding. He took care of us during breakfast and noticed our curiosity about local dishes, bringing complimentary bites for us to try. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to providing a great experience. Bernadette — The Ledge: Extremely kind and warm. She made our final breakfast especially memorable by going out of her way for us. A great example of thoughtful hospitality. Reyna — Front Desk: Fabulous welcome. She greeted us warmly at check-in and even offered to show us available rooms before we chose ours—above and beyond. Made us feel valued immediately. Hugo — Pool: Great service, attentive without hovering. He kept things running smoothly by the pool and made sure we had everything we needed to relax.

    Glorious anniversary stay!

    We booked the Cape for a special anniversary and could not be more pleased! The staff - from Angie at check-in to the wonderful women who attended our room (I didn't get her name) were phenomenal. They surprised us with special touches to celebrate our anniversary and we were able to experience Sunday brunch as well as cocktails at the rooftop bar. Food across the property (at the pool, the Sunken Bar, the Ledge, and the Rooftop) was great. It was easy and affordable to get Ubers into town when we wanted to explore outside the resort, but it was always hard to leave. We loved our stay and will be back - highly recommend!

    Manuel was so attentive at the rooftop. Beautiful views of the sunset, cocktail in hand, would come back here in a heartbeat!
